East Boston finally has Jamaican cuisine! Being Jamaican, I can attest that the food is excellent and the owner, Darren, is a sweetheart. My favorite is the mango pineapple shrimp… to die for. All around, a great place to eat authentic Jamaican food. Marva’s Place also did a catering for my company. It was for about 25 people and my co-​workers keep raving about the delicious food! I will definitely cater from there again.

I’m never disappointed when I eat here, because it’s reasonably priced, the food is delicious, and everyone is so nice. My favorite dish is the jerk shrimp, it’s super spicy and they do not skimp on be shrimp. They cook the rice and peas with coconut milk and I love it. My roommate and I actively try not going because we don’t want to go broke from eating there everyday.

Marva’s Place is a hidden gem in Eastie. Darren is fantastic and creates delicious, fresh Jamaican dishes. While I love the Jerk Chicken, I usually go for the daily special! If you’re ever there for the Pineapple Chicken, you are in for treat! The homemade mac n cheese is required eating! Do yourself a favor and head over!

This place is a treasure. While i both want it to stay hidden so it’s not over packed when I’m there, I also want people to find it and love it and keep this business going. The environment is great the food is fantastic. I never even knew I liked Jamaican food until I tried it. They also have burgers for those who are looking to satisfy the need for one. Juicy quarter pound burgers. Ask them to change it up a little with sweet chili or even jerk style and teriyaki, they’ll do it. You cannot go wrong here. Friendly, Great food, Great people. Super close to Maverick train stop.

Every time we come I get the same thing. Jamaican jerk burger. Spicy as hell and amazing. Tonight we had the wings too and they were perfection. This place is only open Monday and Tuesday (maybe Wed?) when they rent the space from maverick café. It’s a perfect weeknight date spot and they don’t mind my kid in a stroller outside chowing down on their mac n cheese.
THE GUYS ARE SO NICE. We’d probably eat here even if the good wasn’t good because I wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings. But I don’t have to worry about that because the food is awesome.

Really awesome jerk chicken!!! Perfect seasoning and just delicious food. Staff has always been friendly and helpful in selecting choices. I have had Jamaican food a few times after Marva’s Place, but the jerk chicken just hasn’t stood up to the perfect balanced taste you get with Marva’s Place. Highly recommended!
