Max Mara

My fiancé purchased me a very expensive coat at MaxMara this fall and it is absolutely beautiful, I love it. Also, the service is pretty good. However, the lining in the pocket came undone. They assured me that they would send it to their tailor free of charge and get it back to me in a timely manner. That they did, and I was happy, however, just two weeks later I noticed the lining in the pocket coming undone again! I called them to tell them how outrageous I felt this was and they apologized profusely. However, apologies won’t help me wear this new coat to NYC for my x-​mas vacation now that its finally getting cold enough to wear. I cannot believe that this could happen twice, especially with a price tag this high. I’ve gotten coats from Zara at 5% the cost that have held up better! I’m still very happy with my coat and once it gets fixed I will be ecstatic, I’m just super frustrated that this could happen in the first place!

Shoddy quality; hefty price.
Last year I needed to film some videos. I’d just had a baby and didn’t fit into anything, so spent a rather ridiculous amount at Max Mara for the shoot.
The staff was pleasant and they helped me to pick out some lovely outfits.
The second time I wore the pants the stitching started to come loose, such that there was a big hole between the pocket and zipper lining and the zipper was coming away from the pants. I called Max Mara and they said that they would help sort it out if I bought the pants in to them. I thought this was ridiculous. I didn’t have the 3 hours that it would take me round trip to take this back into the store, and them letting me mail it into them would have been far more appropriate. Since I had a young baby at home, and limited time, I let it go and got them repaired myself.
Then yesterday I put on one of the belts that I had bought at the same time and the buckle screw broke off — and cannot be mended. This was not a cheap belt, and since I’d only worn it once before, I was surprised at the poor quality.
Put plainly, while I have bought many items from them in the past, this two in a row bad experience means I probably won’t buy from them again. I was disappointed that they didn’t offer a better service when I contacted them regards the faulty merchandise.

It’s not cheap, but usually you get what you pay for. They have great fashionable clothes for work or wherever. I have some super comfortable and cute capris I got here — the fabric is so soft I want to sleep in them.
Staff here is friendly and helpful. I tried on a great dress today, but I wasn’t quite sure I wanted to buy it. The woman wrote down all the information for me so I could call and order or come back and ask for it.
