I found the owner to be very patient while I took my time selecting which chenille scarves to get(on sale) as gifts and felt no pressure to buy, to hurry up, to decide… no pressure about anything. She did a lovely job wrapping the gifts I selected, using the paper flowers she sells as décor, which was a very nice surprise. The merchandise is colorful, beautiful, of good quality and there is a price range so I could find something for anyone for whom I needed a gift at Maya.

This is a really nice store — beautiful hand-crafted jewelry, purses, shawls and decorative items from Mexico and Guatemala. I bought a small pendant with tiny pressed flowers; it is gorgeous and I have never seen anything like it. The girl working here was very nice. She put up with me while I took photos and asked her questions about the store for my fashion blog. She also has a unique sense of style and agreed to be one of my models — but that’s going off-topic! Overall this is a clean, brightly lit, colourful store with plenty of pretty, unusual things that are displayed to their best advantage. Also, if you buy something here, you not only benefit yourself — the proud owner of something unusual and beautiful — but also support the families who make these pretty things. Support small family-run businesses! A good experience, I will be back!

A friend told me about this store 4 years ago and I have been going back regularly ever since. They have wonderful hand crafted gifts, mostly jewelry, but they do have housewares(vases, candle holders, etc) as well. I frequently get bridal shower, wedding, and birthday gifts here. While prices can be a little high at times there are often good sales and one must remember these are hand crafted items. Interesting selection of merchandise combined with pleasant friendly staff makes this a permanent go to place for me!
