If zeros stars were possible that is exactly what this establishment would get. The best part of my experience there was the very friendly and outgoing bouncer… it was pretty much downhill after that. My girlfriend and I entered Mija around 10:45 and sat down on the outdoor patio about 30 seconds later. After unsuccessfully attempting to flag down a staff member to provide us with a menu I went inside the restaurant and asked if someone could take our order. An employee eventually showed up and asked what we would like to order but NEVER provided us with a menu. Several minutes later the manager appeared(upon my request) and the DJ for the night ran over, jumped on the managers back & spilt my beverage as well as my girlfriends. LONGSTORY made a little shorter… This is a poorly managed establishment with poorly trained staff.

I’ve been here a few times for drinks and just chips and salsa. The bartender has offered help picking tequila, and while it was the most expensive, it was still good. I’m a huge fan of La Chupacabra Margarita, it has jalepenos. There’s never been a wait when I’m there, though the bar does fill up and there is nice outdoor seating. There’s a bathroom in the restaurant which is hard to find at fanueil hall. I left my debit card here over the weekend and they were very helpful with holding it for me and getting it back to me when I came back in.

I got a beautiful and delicious Chimichanga! It was rich with a nice side of Guac and Pico de Gallo. The place is very charming and the outdoors sitting was very pleasant as well! :)

My colleagues and I took a stroll over to Mija for Friday lunch as we didn’t really have a chance to celebrate our lack of authentic Mexican heritage yesterday(Cinco de Mayo) due to work. Mija satisfied our deepest cravings, tickling our taste buds with rich, savory flavors and fresh, tasty beverages. Here is my personal experience: Drink selection — Delirio Joven(Mezcal tequila) over light ice. Not much to the imagination here, you either like Mezcal or you don’t — I do. Also added a Pacifico after lunch for dessert :) Lunch selection —(3) Grilled fish tacos. Mija’s fish tacos are robust and very flavorful. I went with the flour tortillas, and the dijon cilantro added a tasty touch. I’d recommend adding a side of black beans to mix with the side of rice they provide. The bartenders were friendly and accommodating and it was nice to see the sun shining through the roof after several days of miserable rain. Will be back! Mike

You will catch me here at least twice a week. Alex and sonic always take care of me. Best tequila bar on the northshore no doubt about that ! They make a mean margarita

Love Mija, the staff is great! The ambience is perfect, makes me feel like I’m on vacation at the bar. Excellent drinks and I always love the music. Can’t go wrong with the guacamole and tacos!

We went here 3÷26÷2016 and were delighted with our bartender Lisa! She had us try a new tequila shot called Ocho that was so smooth, and that I normally would never had tasted. Our service was good, and the bar staff seemed very friendly. As someone who bartended their way through college and grad school I have a tendency to be fairly picky. I also loves the weathered, southwestern/Mexican décor. It was really charming, and a welcome chance from the rest of Faneuil Hall. I would go here again if in the area, but I rarely get the chance to get up to Boston.

I’ve visited here twice and was equally impressed both times! The bartenders are awesome, the food is amazing, and the drinks and tequila selection can’t be beaten. It’s a little pricey, but for those who know quality it’s very reasonable, especially for the location. You definitely get what you pay for. Lisa and Cassie on the bar made me feel right at home. They were so warm and welcoming that I felt like«one of the girls» before I left. I’ll come back any chance I get!

Nachos, tacos, margaritas — if you like these, you will like the place. All kinds of Mexican fast food is served here. Imo overpriced but worth checking out: it has a good number of people every night. Another drawback is the location: every time I order taxi, the driver gets confused about the pickup place.

Went tonight for an after work party. if you or a friend win this party you can invite as many friends as you’d like for $ 5 Quesadillas, $ 2 Chicken Tacos, $ 2 Beef Tacos, $ 5 Juarez margaritas, $ 4 Modelo cans, & $ 3PBR Drafts. I had a chicken quesadilla and 2 margaritas and I can honestly say I’m buzzed as i write this review which is pretty impressive for discounted margaritas :) I also enjoyed the quesadilla, it was very tasty and just the right serving size. If you for brunch for your birthday, you get to eat for free and your friends get 50% off as well. I recommend getting the pancakes. The service is friendly and usually very attentive, I can’t wait to go back.

I have NEVER in my life been treated as poorly as I have at this bar. Me and a group of friends came here for New Years, each paid $ 95 bucks for«VIP» tickets, and boy do I regret this decision. The first incident happened when around 11 pm one of our friends went out to smoke a cigarette and when he tried to come back in, a very rude bouncer told him no claiming he was drunk. Well first of all, OFCOURSE he’s drunk it’s NYE. Second of all my friend was completely composed and not belligerent whatsoever, but this man was inappropriately giving him a hard time. My bf had to go talk to this bouncer in order to let our friend back in. After this incident our group of friends appeared to be targeted. My same friend was double charged for his bill, claiming he did not pay it. When in fact I WITNESSED my friend pay his bill. My same friend did not receive a «complimentary» champagne toast at midnight and I had to ask the server to serve him. By that point it was pretty evident to us our group of friends were being targeted. Some time after midnight me and my bf shared a kiss. Almost immediately the same bouncer that gave our friend a hard time came up to us and said«none of that here, let’s go» My boyfriend freaked out of course, for how could we be getting kicked out for sharing a kiss on NYE? And meanwhile the couple next to us are mowing face on eachother and they approach US? So one bouncer picks up my bf and throws him out, and the other shoves me out. I began pushing back at this bouncer because he was inappropriately aggressive towards me and I had had it. What does this man do? He grabs my neck and throws me onto the ground. This of course caused multiple people around us to react and my bf rightfully punched this man. I called the police and was told this was a «private establishment» and there’s not much they could do about it, and the bouncer claimed I was«drunk» and that was his excuse. They asked me if I wanted to press chargers and I said yes of course but I doubt anything will happen out of it which blows my mind seeing how a man wrapped his hands around my neck and shoved me to the ground. Was I drunk? Yes of course it’s NYE. Does this make it okay for him or ANY man for that matter to put his hands around a woman’s neck and throw her to the ground? No. This man should not have his job if he is going to man handle any woman in this manner. If you’re a female and you ever attend this bar please be aware and protect yourself. DONOT go to this place and please protect yourself if you are a female because you can get hurt.

I went last night with two friends and must have hit it on a good day! Wonderful fast service. The food was great we had the guacamole appetizer and I had a chicken quesadilla which was very filling with all the cheese but great! Also had the watermelon mojito which was very tasty but not too sweet(exactly how a mojito should be). Can’t complain!

Our server was Brianna who was good to us. I started off with a «Don Quijote» — Avion Silver Tequila(replaced w/Patron), cucumbers, sweet peach liqueur(Green Chili Sugar Rim). Pretty refreshing drink but I followed it up by a Lava Flow(strawberry daiquiri & piña colada) which was delicious. I read about the Mija’s Signature Cheeseburger Taco on Unilocal and wanted to try it. Made of all beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, pickles, house mustard sauce and pico de gallo. You get to choose between two or three tacos. Very nice taste. I was afraid that the cheese would overwhelm the flavors of the beef and mustard but it was a fine balance. It also came with a side of Spanish rice. Very nice dinner for my first meal in Boston.

Certainly a happening spot in the area: lots of pretty people, loud music, and copious drinks. But that comes with slow service. Get there before 10pm on a Saturday to avoid the cover. I rounded up from a 2.5, since, hey, the music was decent.

These guys keep my friends and I coming back almost every other Friday because someone keeps winning the afterwork hours special. The baja fish taco is good but quite pricey in general and the service is ok. Friday nights it’s more laid back whereas Saturdays it’s good for loud music and dancing. Keep the tacos coming!

We got the mango chili calamari as an appetizer and the winter green and citrus salad with carnitas and the vegetable quesadilla’s for our main meal. The calamari was not crispy and didn’t have much taste, so I wasn’t a fan of that appetizer. Next time I would probably just stick with the chips and salsa. I loved my salad, even though the waitress forgot that I asked for the dressing on the side. That being said, it was a light vinaigrette so it wasn’t an issue. My only complaint about the salad is that the carnitas weren’t warm. The vegetable quesadilla was a good size portion even though it’s on the appetizer menu, but we didn’t love the cheese(monteray jack) in it. Our waitress was really attentive and we didn’t wait long for anything to come out. While the food was nothing amazing, I would come back here as it was a well priced option that was convenient to the hotel I was staying in.

Went here on a Thurs night for a «After Work Party», which everyone gets eventually if you give them your contact info After Work Party entails: $ 5 Quesadillas $ 2 Chicken Tacos $ 2 Beef Tacos ½ Priced Apps(Thursdays only) Free cover charge for you and all of your guests!(Note this does not guarantee entrance if it’s really packed) We also have $ 5 Juarez Margaritas, $ 4 Modelo cans, & $ 3PBR Drafts for you to enjoy! It was pretty packed on a Thurs night! At least around the bar area; there were a few tables open, but the deals only work at the bar. Surprisingly crowded with people who didn’t look like tourists. The atmosphere was good, but it was almost too loud. Had a mango margarita — that definitely was OJ + bottom shelf tequila. It tasted like juice Nachos were really good! Adequate amount of deliciously melted cheese, a little skimpy on the tomatoes and guac. Basically, nice to come for the after work party deals, but i don’t think it’s worth it full-priced.

I read all of the reviews before coming to this place, but decided to keep my mind open. When we first came in we were greeted and said we could sit in the bar and the bartender would come over and be our server. The first thing we noticed was that the bar smelled very musty and it was pretty empty. We sat down and waited for about 10 minutes before we realized that the bartender clearly did not want to come out from behind the bar to take our order. We moved and sat at the bar top. She immediately came over and took our drink order. Getting food orders in after we got our drinks took forever and there was no one in the restaurant so it did not make sense why the service would be so poor. The food was alright, we got the guacamole and chips, it tasted good but it was $ 12! We each got a taco salad after this, they were pretty big but the lettuce was pretty wilted and tasted rather soggy. If all of this wasn’t enough, we got our check and at the bottom of it it suggested tip amounts, excellent service would be 20%, fair service was 17% and poor service was 15%! We usually tip 20% at restaurants that we go to but the fact that they were clearly trying to get more tips for this service was pretty sad.

Passer commande et né pas être servi 50 min après alors que le restaurant est rempli à 20%. Aucune information. Rien souffert pour patienter. N’y retournerai pas!
