I feel compelled to create an account to review this place. The milkshakes are that good. And the day I was planning on writing a review, they saw me coming and had the shake made before I even had the chance to order. They had no clue I was registering on Unilocal just to sing of their great shakes and ice cream(I like vanilla cake) And people are on here complaining about the service?

Went in one Sunday around 1130. The place was dead. Ordered soup and grilled cheese. The soup was reheated and tasted not home made. The grilled cheese took forever and was nothing special, particularly the bread. The owner tries to be friendly, but comes across too aggressive. Not a great vibe.

They charge $ 3 to use their toilets. Should do business with their ice cream instead.

Okay so here’s the thing, I work in a corporate setting and always have to order lunch for people. Whenever people want to order any lunch sandwiches, they ALWAYS asks me to order from Molly Moo’s. When I was looking into the site and menu I was like uhhh are you sure THIS is the right Molly Moo’s for sandwiches? I thought it was just an ice cream shop but everyone was like NO, you’ve GOT to order lunch here. So I did and every since, this place has been the top 5 place I would order from for lunches. The meatball subs and the buffalo chicken sandwiches are bombbbb.

Holy nom. Get a cookie sandwich, they’re amazing. And the family that owns this place is super friendly!

Total rip off and totally gross! They charged me $ 3 for bite sized cannolis and the server put her hands through her hair before preparing my sandwich. I got 3 breakfast sandwiches(with hair), 3 bite sized cannolis, and 1 iced coffee for $ 35!!! Better off sitting down for brunch at paramount for that price.

Way too pricey, mediocre food, terrible service. I love small businesses but this one is poorly run and wont be around long. Sandwiches, soups and pastries are overpriced and not very tasty.

Average ice cream with mediocre service. There was only one person working who answered the phone 3 times and took 3 phone orders after taking our order, leaving us waiting there as if we didn’t exist. NEXTTIME, TELLTHECALLERTOHOLD. It’s extremely disrespectful and poor customer service. Would never come again…

Wrong order, horrible customer service by owner. Likely not a place that will be around long term.

Finally, ice cream and coffee get done the right way in South Boston. Fresh, high quality ingredients go into each sandwich and the service is great.

I went here yesterday to get a milkshake for my girlfriend. Let me preface this by telling you that my girlfriend is one of the foremost milkshake experts in the Greater Boston area. She holds an M.A. in Milkshake Studies and a B.A. in History of Milkshakes in America. The service was great, the guy made our milkshake quickly. The milkshake itself was DELICIOUS, so much so that sharing with me was not considered. We also got an ice cream sandwich and an iced coffee, all of which were great. I recommend this place for its friendly service and high quality products.

Very friendly proprietor. This is one of the best options for espresso drinks in the area and the iced lattes are very good. Ice cream is amazing. It’s hard not to stop in every time I walk by.

I work directly across the street from Molly Moo’s, so I stop in pretty frequently. While I agree they do need to tighten up the service behind the counter a little, the food is amazing. I usually get the breakfast sandwich and it is OH so tasty. I don’t mind waiting a few extra minutes for them to make it. Our company orders lunch here once in a while, and I have loved everything I’ve tried. All the soups are amazing, sandwiches are great too. Haven’t tried the ice cream but I definitely will soon! The owner is really nice too!

My friends and I had some killer frappes there a while back, I love the variety of flavors you can get there. There was a line but the workers moved quickly so we weren’t waiting too long.

Ice cream is awesome. Coffee is just okay. The syrups are really not good — taste funny. I’d love to see this place do well here. My suggestion would be to spruce up behind the counter and the seating area as its very messy and takes away from the really positive things about the business.

I went in with my daughter and a few of her friends one night. The place was empty except for two people behind the counter and one person out front. The person out front was a friend of theirs and they were having a funny conversation, based on their laughter. It took them awhile to get to us. When they did finally get to us, the laughter was gone and they were not very friendly. We were made to feel as if we were intruding. The ice cream was ok… nothing special.

Great job Molly Moo’s! Terrific little spot for a post-dinner sweet treat. Clean inside, sizable portions, and really delicious ice cream and cookies. It seems they serve Gifford’s ice cream imported from Maine, which, in my humble opinion, is the best ice cream in the world. I am definitely rooting for this spot, it is just what Southie needed. My only suggestions would be to liven up the staff a little bit and spruce up some of the awkward storage corners of the space. Otherwise, based on taste and location, two thumbs up and 5 stars.

Friendly staff, delicious ice cream and a clean bright space! I haven’t seen enough customers to worry(yet) but come summer I think there will be quite a bottleneck at the counter. Best to arrive by foot(or bus) as parking on the street is tough to come by.

Come on folks — why all the negativity? It takes some time for all businesses with a new location to iron out all the kinks. Give M. Moo’s a break! Overall, I have been very pleased with my experiences. Has the service been perfect? No, but this is an ice cream shop; not a fancy steakhouse downtown. I have visited both in the AM for a quick coffee/pastry combo which were both up to par as well as in the evening for some ice cream which was awesome(only place I’ve been to that will make a frappé with any flavor — coffee cookie dough frappé? Jackpot.) M. Moo’s has been packed each visit so they must be doing something well. Southie has been in dire need of a good ice cream shop and this place fits the bill. They’ll undoubtedly be making a killing this summer. If you’re in the neighborhood, give Molly Moo’s a try!

I really wanted to love Molly Moo’s. Southie is in desperate need of a good ice cream place, and as an avid ice cream lover I was excited to try it. We went last night and the service was HORRIBLE. Apparently there were two new people working. I feel for new employees, but there needs to be someone supervising or at least instructing staff on basic customer service. The two people working couldn’t describe the contents of any of the lesser known ice cream flavors and just responded«I don’t know» when asked by various customers what was in the flavors. If you don’t know that is fine, but make an effort to find our or give people a sample. A customer finally pointed out that there was one sign that did highlight the contents of some of the lesser known flavors, so that was helpful. A customer behind me asked if they sold pints of ice cream and the staff responded that they didn’t know! How is that something you don’t know? The ice cream serving was also really small. I got two scoops the scoops were so small, the ice cream didn’t have touch the side of my cup. The ice cream flavors were just so-so. The only reason why this is getting two stars instead of one is because my fiancée ordered an ice cream sandwich which was a decent portion and was pretty good.
