A beautiful fine arts gallery in the SoWa arts complex in the South End. The gallery director, Paul Walcott, is an artist in his own right and produces the most incredible, one-of-a-kind sculptural lighting, signage, and artisan furniture from industrial parts and other found materials. It’s practical, top-quality, playful and beautiful. Also on the walls are his bold, compelling abstracts and the work of the current exhibiting guest artist, which could be sculpture, photography, painting… In addition to the art, Paul and assistant director AnaLinda Marcus routinely offer Argentine Tango class series as well as private lessons. They also do a monthly Argentine Tango social dance, and there is nothing like dancing to Golden Age Tango music in a pristine, modern space surrounded by gorgeous art and sculpture. Disclaimer is that I am a tango student of theirs these past two years – Paul and AnaLinda are also wonderful, sensitive and gifted teachers and will help you navigate the challenging but worthwhile road to tango bliss. :)(If you are interested in trying out the dance, of course.) In the meantime, highly recommended for the visual experience alone, if you’re planning to visit the South End.
