Typical scenario. Either there’s 15 customers waiting on line for one cashier or your the only customer and there’s NO cashier. It’s so hard to understand. Especially when you only have a 15 minute break and 10 minutes is spent looking for the cashier. Salads are freshly made as well as the sandwiches which earned them 3 stars for me. Still overall the service sucks to a very high level.

The food here is good, but the wait is very long, and some of the staff seem«put out» by having to work.

While I was waiting for the shuttle, I went into the café to buy some water. I was the only customer. I got my water, went and stood at the register. The lady for the register was leaning against the wall by the sandwich counter, texting on her cell phone. She never looked up. I never got the water. With the prices they charge, maybe they can afford some courses on customer service.

Excellent fresh salads and sandwiches but they are very slow; some of the staff seem so unmotivated and uninspired. Many docs I work with like it as well but avoid it because of this. It’s also on the expensive side; salad and sandwich prices are ok but adding a beverage and chips easily pushes the price to $ 12.00. The griddle/Panini maker they uses doesn’t get the sandwich hot. Flatbread is delicious. What Liza G said is spot on about the slow walk to get individual items when there is a line out the door, but in defense of a particular employee, I have seen the cook come and help on the register when it is very busy.

This is now called green living café. Healthy options are horrible and staff doesn’t know what they are doing. They should focus on better salad options not pizza. It would be great to have a real healthy place.

Always slow. Hard to believe they’ve not mastered the art of organizing the food preparation space efficiently. I understand when there’s just one person on that obviously there will be a wait. It’s when there’s 3 or 4 and they are all walking slowly back and forth the length of the kitchen to collect the separate ingredients that I find it so distressing. Of course once the rush passes two additional staff emerge and the first one slows down to chat.

Staff are not very friendly, no greetings. It looks like you are really putting them out to take your order. Bagels taste more like dry bread and their prices are ridiculous for sub par tasting food. I ordered a bagel, cream cheese with tomato and lettuce and it was $ 4.46. I asked whether the price was correct and apparently I was charged a dollar a piece for a dry, white slice of tomato and a half a leaf of romaine. Really disappointed in this place. With a few changes, it could be a great place for staff to grab breakfast.

Pretty good menu and it all smells good, however my husband and I both ordered flatbread sandwiches and neither were great. The person making them didn’t leave them on the griddle long enough to make anything but the very outside warm… Also, I ordered the chicken tmb, I heard the lady making it ask someone else if they were out of basil and when someone said check the back because they thought there was more back there, she didn’t, she just made the sandwich and gave it to me. I should have questioned but I just wasn’t in the mood to fit with someone about it. She just assumed I didn’t want what I ordered or was too lazy to go check if there was basil in the back… Kind of bad service. Check out ladies were rude. Food was pretty pricey… $ 19 for 2 sandwiches and a bottle of water. The idea of the place is great but they need to improve customer service.

I have to agree with Anne K.‘s review — the food is pretty good but the service is so terrible that I don’t think I’ll go back. I like having a healthy takeout option that has organic, natural food. The sandwiches and soup are mostly pretty good, the pizza and salads are OK. but the service is awful. The guy waiting on me actually GROANEDOUTLOUD before he took my order! and then he kept having to check the menu to see the ingredients in my wrap(spinach veggie, not that hard) and then forgot the cheese that I asked for. This has happened a bunch of times before — I ask for chicken on a salad, or cheese on a sandwich, or some other extra, and I don’t get it but still get charged for it. I have taken to watching them like a hawk as they make my food to make sure they don’t screw it up(which I neglected to do today). so I paid $ 8 to get treated like crap and get some some spinach and mushrooms on a wrap. today was the last straw, won’t be back.

Food is good, especially as a quick breakfast option prior to working in the hospital. Also, excellent coffee, better than the low grade stuff in the cafeteria and the gut-wrenching swill served at ABP across the street. My major complaint about this place is the wretched, horrible service. All of the staff are unfriendly and more concerned with chatting each other up, or restocking shelves, than serving customers. The morning staff in particular is rude and unwelcoming.

I have been to this café many times. Quality is high service is on slow side and employees seem unhappy and certainly don’t add to experience. But quality and uniqueness of food earns them 4 stars. As for price point complaints posted by others — yes it is more expensive than McDonald’s so what. Prices are fair given the quality of food and location.

They make a huge deal about being all natural — cloyingly faux-sincere signs everywhere. But the food is not-so-great. I ordered their blue cheese and balsamic hamburger which sounded really great on their menu. What I got was a greasy hamburger pulled out of a warming drawer, bitter-tasting blue cheese and cheap balsamic. Not recommended for the food!

Breakfast paninis are not that good… small amount of scrambled eggs and one slice of blackforest ham?! When you bite into it, the only thing you taste is the bread which isn’t good either. Thai chicken salad(4 – 5 small narrow strips of chicken) with peanut sauce was not that good especially for $ 7. Will not visit again.

It’s hard to find a good sandwich in the Longwood area, but O’Naturals has got it covered. From their Bison meatloaf sandwich to their chicken TMB you can’t go wrong. The service is friendly and quick. Everything is made fresh from sustainable and organic food and tastes great. If you are looking for tasty healthy food in Longwood, O’Naturals is the bomb!

I love this place. The food is not only healthy, freshly prepared, and organic/natural/local, but it’s really delicious. Staffers are wicked nice, interior is happy and cheerful, everything is biodegradable and green-friendly, and there are some cool snack options in the little market place. My current favorite meal is the Chicken BMT sandwich(balsamic chicken, basil, moz, tomato on a freshly made flatbread). My only gripe are the prices, which is why it gets 3 stars… $ 7 for a sandwich is fine every once in a while, but I couldn’t afford to eat here every day. Which is a shame, because I totally would and be very happy about it.

O’Naturals was the dream of the founders of Stonyfield Farm yogurt — a healthy fast food idea based on the principles of organic, natural and environmentally responsible foods(and also the building materials, packaging, etc). This company is based in Maine, but a recent addition to the Boston area is at this location in the Longwood medical area. While it lacks the charm and community feel of the Falmouth, ME location, it retains the same great foods. Choose from interesting and healthy soups, salads, and flatbread pizza or sandwiches(flatbread is the house specialty — taking home a loaf is also a great idea). This Longwood location is a great place to find healthy snacks if you’re on the run, too. For more information:

Easily the best hospital cafeteria I’ve ever eaten at. …Alright, let me clarify. I know it’s not REALLY the Brigham and Women’s cafeteria. But it’s on the main floor of the Shapiro Building, which makes it more of a caf than a restaurant to its own. And what a delicious cafeteria it is. O’Natty’s follows along with the trend of restaurants that sell you on the source of the food rather than the price– i.e., grass-fed this, flatbread that, organic these, etc, etc. And for the most part, that’s a good thing. The(roasted) pizza,(bison meatloaf) sandwiches,(sesame spinach) salad, and(vegetable chili) soup are all delicious. True, lunch and a drink will probably run you $ 10 or more. But it’s not like there’s anything much cheaper in the Longwood Galleria, and this food is actually healthy.(HEARTHAT, LONGWOOD? HUH. A PLACETOEATAROUNDBOSTON’S BESTHOSPITALSTHAT’S HEALTHY. WHAT A NOVELIDEA.) Plus, most of the dudes that work there are pretty nice. Not a four-star point on its own, but seals the deal when it’s placed on top of everything else.

Gave this a shot the other day and it was decent. I might add it to the lunch rotation for rainy days since its an all indoor trip option from CHB. The chicken & roots flatbread sandwich I had was tasty and a much different flavor than most of the other lunch options in the area. I also liked the variety of side items available and the amount of non soda drink choices was refreshing. The only real issue was the price. $ 10 and change for a sandwich, chips and drink was pretty steep for lunch. The seating area was very nice and was pretty lightly attended during peak lunch time. So finding a seat was nice and easy.

My initial enthusiasm for this place has unfortunately dwindled. My review is still primarily concerned with their breakfast menu cause that is all I get from there. The breakfast sandwiches are just not packed with as much egg any more. They have seemed kind of rushed lately so they are also not toasted as much. The Starbucks coffee is just bad. It always tastes burnt. It still isn’t horrible and if you are going to get breakfast out it is definitely more healthy than almost all other places in the longwood area.

This O’Naturals sits just inside the Shapiro Center across from the main entrance to Brigham & Women’s Hospital… Lunchroom style… mostly fresh ingredients prepared in front of you when you order… bright, clean interior… If you’re comfortable paying a little more for a decent quality sandwich/soup/bottled juice combination, and are hoping to avoid the nearby pit of a food court, this is a nice little cafeteria…
