Tonight i got an 8 pc meal of fried chicken with campero beans and rice. The food was good dont get me wrong, but for the half hour I waited for it I will not be going back to this location ever again. How long does it take to throw already fried chicken, which i could clearly see sitting there, in a bag and scoop two sides. Everyone was complaining that they waited over 20 minutes as well. This is a fast food place if I knew i was going to be waiting a half hour I would of gone somewhere else. And to top of it they werent apologetic about it at all. Awful service!

Yuck! Blech! Barf! Why is this company still open?! Cold, dry yucca fries. Empanada filled with more chicken skin then actual chicken meat. They did not have grilled chicken. The Horchata tasted watered down. The bread roll was uneatable, hard and stale. The salsa had a bitter/foul lemon juice after taste. This place does NOT serve authentic Latin food. If I cooked the way they did, my parents would disown me.

Over hearing from everyone that I know, east boston pollo campers is better. So why not give it a shot. Coming into the place it really does remind me of an actual restaurant from the motherland of Guatemala. No windows on the side only the main entrance tons of seating very in a way restaurant looking. We order which the order taker was very nice and spoke English too. If you sit in they will give you a number and tell you to sit at a table, they will bring it to you and you can leave it on the table also. But not really a thing I do for a fast food restaurant I need to put my stuff away. We got a family order for 4 and it definitely feeds to adults and 2 kids easily 3 hungry adults if need be. The food was good but I didn’t get to try the fried here only the grilled. But overall great place to eat.

Awesome fried chicken — crispy, juicy, and light. Got the coleslaw as a side. It was a little bland, so will try a different side next time. If you have a sweet tooth and like caramel — get the cuatro leches cake. Creamy and sweet — so good. Place was very clean and service was friendly. Tons of seating too. I’ll be back!

Good, felt like El Pollo Loco or any other fast food shack but deep fried chicken! Wanted to try this place since it always smelled good outside and it was! Most meals come with two sides and thought the beans were good… cept the farts. Anyways, don’t forget your salsa if you take it togo like me!

This place is seriously really really good. It has changed ownership since some of the earlier reviews and the place is always extremely clean now. I am never the only one in there even if I go at odd times so I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s delicious. LOVELOVELOVE their grilled chicken, not much of a fried chicken girl but that’s great too. Their rice bowl is RIDICULOUSLY filling, I barely made it through half, it’s loaded with black beans, grilled chicken, peppers, corn, some kind of delicious sauce and probably a bunch of stuff I am not remembering. Might be my new favorite menu item and all for under 7 dollars. I load anything I get here with Jalapeños, not quiet sure what kind of magic is performed on them but they are delicious. Perhaps they are pickled because they weren’t too spicy but they had an amazing flavor. Light years above KFC/Popeyes for me but no mashed potatoes or traditional american sides. Their black beans are great but their pinto beans are out of this world. One of the best sides I’ve ever had particularly at a fast food place. Nothing about this feels like fast food to be honest. I’d consider it to be more fast-casual. They prepare lots of stuff fresh and then bring it to your table which certainly puts them above Mcdonald’s and even Panera. Also protip, if you’re here and not from the neighborhood I’ll let you in on a secret, over behind the Shaw’s, the the left of the parking lot are some GD amazing views of the city. Eat chicken, be merry, take pictures of the best city ever, fall in love with Eastie.

I love the fried chicken here. It’s definitely different from KFC/Popeye’s. I love the way it’s spiced. I agree with other commentors that the chicken pieces are smaller than average but I guess it’s the way they cook it. I usually get the 20 pieces for $ 22 deal and grab a bunch of sauces for when I go over to friends parties. It’s always a big hit with folks who don’t usually eat latin fried chicken.

I ache because I wish this was AS great at the real Pollo Campero in Latin America. Sorry, but if you think this American one is great, go to Latin America and have your mind blown by the real Pollo Campero. This just doesn’t cut it for me as I can just feel and taste the American degradation of the food. It just doesn’t taste as fresh and there is not enough variation in the menu as the Latin American one. Also, the chicken in the Latin American one has this specific zest that this has failed. I’ve also gotten yuca that is too hard to be even edible. Alas, I have something to look forward to my away vacations…

Great food. Lazy employees wanting to close 30 minutes earlier, locking the door and telling people they ran out of chicken, pure BS.

I went to the one in Cheslea a couple of times and their service is excellent! They are fast, prompt and serve their customer with a smile! I love their FREE sauce bar! When I ordered their fried tortilla I always grab a couple of them salsas! Their chicken, I am not really a big fan of? Or maybe I’m wrong? My first time their I’ve ordered to go and when I got home the fried chicken was not as crispy? Their side order of rice is an OK(I’ve tasted better rice)… However, I have not tried their grilled chicken before so I go back one day and tried both(dine –in) I like their parking space! It’s very spacy and convenient

Wanna try something different than the same old KFC? Try out Pollo Campero! The chicken was very good, I recommend the dark meat as it is much more moist. I also really enjoyed their cole slaw and red beans. If you go here, don’t bother with the dinner rolls, they are some crappy, dry roll that you can get anywhere, go for the tortillas. The best part… there is plenty of parking in the parking lot, a rare find in Boston.

Two of my friends have ended up in the hospital after eating the chicken here. The ER doctor said he has seen many people who have needed hospitalization after eaten tainted chicken at Campero? Beware

one star being cold leftover chicken and 5 stars being the most amazing chicken I’ve ever had, this is a solid 4 – 4.5. The grilled chicken is amazing; I have no idea how they get so much flavor into the chicken. The sides are great(both the beans and the rice/beans). The empanadas are so-so: not crispy, a little soggy/greasy but the filling is good(I tried both the spicy and the citrus ones). The food seems a little bit more expensive than what you expect for a fast food place, but acceptable(wayyyyyy better than KFC). The bowls are probably a beter bet but I ordered for a party of 4(one whole chicken, 3 sides and two empanadas) and it came out to $ 30 – 35(no drinks). Staff was friendly. Anyway; try it out; definitely worth the trip o Chelsea or Everett.

OMGTHISISOFFICIALLYMYFAVORITEFRIEDCHICKENPLACE! I came here with the boy and two friends who were in town and heard about this place through a family member. When we arrived, we looked over the menu and decided on 12 pieces of fried chicken(mixed) with a side of yucca and fried plantains. For drinks, we couldn’t decide and asked the staff who was kind enough to provide samples! We ended up with the jamaica(which was similar to fruit punch), horchata(like a cinnabon in liquid form!), and I can’t remember the name of the last drink but it was like iced tea. After we ordered, we sat down in a booth and the food was delivered straight to us with silverware and everything! Talk about service for a fast food place! Everything was delicious! The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. I thought I would miss the breading but I didn’t. Way better than KFC and Popeyes! Yes, I said it! The plantains were perfectly sweet(although slightly oily), and the yucca fries were awesome! We left with full and happy bellies without being overly stuffed. Now, what are you waiting for? Fried chicken is great, latin american fried chicken is even better. This place does way more than your traditional fried(or grilled) chicken though. They have a bunch of great sides too, including Yuca Fries and Fried Sweet Plantains. Their french fries are burger king style, nothing too much to rave about. Prices can be reasonable too, I got a combo box of 10 drumsticks and breasts for $ 10, which was enough for about 3 or 4 people. It is true about the limited english spoken here, but c’mon it is fast food, just say what you want and move on. This is a great fast food chain.

This was my first ime at Pollo Campero. For a chain restaurant I was really impresed. Price: For the price you get a lot of food. I ordered the Friend chicken bowl and 6 pc fired chicken. $ 6.99 for the bowl and $ 4 for the chicken pcs. Flavor: Very nice. I actually loved the fried chicken and the skin was very crispy. Service: Great. BRAVO to them at that location. They brought our food to our table, and yes, with a smile. The experience was great for fast food. Actually, it was great in general. Why go to MCDonald’s when you can get quality food for cheap and fast. I will come back soon. :-)

I standby my original 4 star review of the Chelsea location and agree this is the same for their newly opened Eastie joint. I’ve never been in the Chelsea one besides picking up drive thru but this location is walk in only and boasts a very large dining area with booths, tables and even bar stools at the windows. Everything is new, clean and well stocked. Service was also good in person. The menu is the same. On a Sunday afternoon there was no waiting in line. I must of missed a rush cause many tables were taken with diners. The chicken pieces were displayed in the back and looked very fresh. This chicken has a distinct look and smell to it. Once it was in the car I knew, that’s the Campero smell. We just picked up an 8 piece box to eat during the game. That ran us $ 12.99. While I am a fan of the chicken taste and texture, I will say that its a bit pricey. The pieces are not big either. I’ve found the drumsticks at both locations scrawny. The combos with a couple chicken pieces, a side and drink run about $ 7. For me its good every once in a while. For the sides I highly recommend the plantains. Those are heavenly. The green sauce from the self serve counter tastes great with the chicken. Try the fruit juices vs. the soda, they are tasty and leave room for a tres leches cake. You’ll leave happy.
