Prometric Testing Center

I took my HR certification exam at this Prometric center. Two hours and 12 minutes into a three-​hour exam, the test center server crashed. After waiting 45 minutes for the staff to figure out what happened, we were told that we would have to reschedule (for free, awesome, thanks) and re-​take our exams. Unfortunately, that means calling some call center in India. It’s been almost a week and I still can’t get anyone to tell me that I’m «authorized» to reschedule my test. Is it too much to expect that the test center would have properly functioning technology?
Oh, and there’s some sort of gym or something directly above or below the testing room. Lots of jumping up and down, which is awesome during an exam.

Taking the MCAT is not enjoyable, but it was as painless as possible at this testing location.
The staff were kind and efficient, which was a surprise – based on my friends’ experiences, I was expecting a DMV atmosphere.
The testing room was a good temperature and very quiet. I brought my own earplugs (note: the only thing you can bring in from the outside world), and construction worker headphones were provided. I couldn’t hear a thing, which was great, since I’m easily distracted by sound.
Bathroom had multiple stalls, so there was never a need to wait between breaks.
Pro tip: Most of the lockers are small, but there are a few large lockers, so if you’re planning to bring a lot of stuff to your exam, show up early to grab one of the large lockers.

Having spent 16 hours over the course of two days at this prometric location, I have gleaned the essence of this testing site. No testing is ever easy and on those long test days, it comes down to 3 big things: Noise, temperature, and staff. Sadly, this is the expertise ive come to acquire.
Well, 2 for 3 ain’t bad.
The location itself is unique. Its basically across the street from TD Garden and the North End, which is great if you are the type that likes to get hammered and carb load after 8 hrs of multiple choice questions (yes). Parking for free is not possible, but there are multiple garages/​lots within 5 minutes walking that can be had for $ 20 for 12 hrs which should be more than enough. The location itself is on Causeway street, but the entrance is on Medford. The testing center is pretty well insulated so it is QUIET, which is great. The temperature, like all testing centers, is cold — but with a sweatshirt it keeps you awake, which is key. Of course the big downside here is the staff, ranking somewhere between the DMV and the TSA. That being said, a lot of them are atleast well meaning (lots of ‘good lucks’ between sections), which can be a nice pick me up on test day.
Anyways this place has two separate rooms with probably 20 computers each, so I imagine it could get pretty packed. Theres a water cooler in the lobby which is nice and the bathroom has multiple stalls which is also very good. There’s some sort of cantina downstairs that sells sandwiches and stuff so you dont even have to pack a lunch if you don’t want to.
