I heard through Randstad from my sister who before getting nursing license after graduating BC got a few interviews through the agency.
I’m 23 and moved from Los Angeles where I worked in the entertainment industry for 2 years with the conviction of now working in higher ed. It was a big switch that did not make a ton of sense of paper. Didn’t matter. Amanda and Dawn at this office saw through that and brought me in for an interview. I spoke with them — they are both incredibly sweet, good-​natured people who will try to put you in positions where you can succeed. I came in during the summer, when hiring isn’t at a premium for colleges but after a month I got a call about a temp to perm position with Northeastern in the physics department. I, along with 2 or 3 others, interviewed for the position and I got it. Fast forward 2 — 3 months and I’ve been offered to stay on permanently. It’s an amazing job with good people, pay, and benefits.
Amanda gave me solid advice throughout the assignment about broaching a permanent stay and this has happened with at least 6 or 7 others in the past few months at Northeastern alone.
This Randstad office has great connections with the institutions they work with, and unlike some other agencies, don’t BS when they tell you that you have a great shot at getting a permanent job. Rates are pretty decent and livable for an expensive city like Boston.
It could not have worked out much better and there’s another girl in the department from Randstad who is working her way to permanency as well. I can’t recommend this group enough — furthermore when you sign on with Randstad you are working with their whole network — I had interviews and calls about positions with their other offices in Cambridge and the Metro Boston area. So if you are especially looking for a job in healthcare, education, and biotech Randstad is certainly worth keeping in mind.
