Truly the definition of «hole in the wall». This is a highly unique deli. You can’t sit inside, you order your stuff and go. But the quality and the price is unbeatable. Truly a plethora of sandwiches to choose from. And if you want a great conversation about classic rock or music in general, hit up Roy who is typically working the register. Grand slam of a deli that truly encompasses the heart of Boston.

Best cold cuts & subs around !!! So good. My five year old is so picky & loves the honey turkey. We probably order from here 2 –3 times a week. People there are very nice & fast service !

Just moved to the neighborhood and tried this place out for location /delivery options. They were friendly, prompt — the sub and salad were delicious. I ordered the Rozzi’s VIP, Caesar. Just wish they were open for dinner!

Subs have always been great besides Tonight and a few weeks ago they where so sloppy and all the chicken was burnt $ 45.00 in subs and it all went in the trash(everyone complained) oh well I guess lol that’s how nasty the sub where, it was like eating rubber straight up! I don’t want to put this out there but this was gross! I would give a 5 for other times but tonight and the last time NO2 is for effort putting the sub together !

First of all, I’ve been a loyal customer of Roy’s since I was a kid. I’ve felt the need to post something in here since I was in there last week. Roy(that’s the guy usually at the register and owner) yells at the staff in the back on a regular basis and is just plain nasty to them. I’ve heard so many folks around Eastie complain about this same issue. If the owner does that when its full of customers I don’t even want to know what goes on when no one’s there. Another thing, probably my biggest problem with Roy’s and main reason I will not be going back there is, mice droppings. Hello I’m not blind! I recognize mice shit when I see it. Roy, if you have feces on your counter I don’t want to know what the heck is going on in the kitchen. Food is always delicious, but anyone knows that if you are having some kind of mouse problem you NEED to close and fix it before someone reports it to the health department. Very disappointed!

In my 22 years of being on this planet I have concluded that I have never eaten a better sandwich than the ones made here. You can literally eat here breakfast lunch and dinner here and then wanna do it again the next day. The options are limitless and you will never get bored. Roy is awesome and funny and is a real people person. He loves talking to his customers and there are plenty of regulars. The people who work there are all so nice too. My favorite sub is the godfather with chicken cutlet Parma prosciutto tomatoes mozzarella and roasted red peppers. I also really like the Ronnie which is cranberry walnut chicken salad with bacon. Although I get it without bacon cuz I don’t really like bacon… Shoot me. Beatles memorabilia and photos of roys family covers the walls and you can see that Roy takes a lot of pride in his business and that he loves what he does. Stop in for a bite, you won’t regret it.

Don’t blink and miss this Eastie mainstay, It doesn’t disappoint. Roy’s is a must try for those who haven’t. The list and description of specialty sandwiches will have you drooling and/or foaming at the mouth. So far I’ve tried a handful and each one has been outstanding. The mad cow is a hangover cure for those in need.

Menu: A++ Service: A++ Nostalgic interior with oodles of Beatles worship: A++ My craving for a good Italian sub was what brought me here. I’m glad I made the trip because the food was delicious from top to bottom! If only Roy’s could be a franchise and replace all the Jimmy John’s that are proliferating in Boise.

Awesome subs and a great experience! We will be back next time we visit Boston! We ate in the park down the street then took the shuttle from airport station to catch our flight home!

Roy’s is a quirky and classic deli. Being relatively new to the neighborhood, it’s been a pleasure finding a place that makes me feel at home. In addition to a wide array or reasonably priced hot and cold sandwiches to fit your every desire, they have fresh cold cuts and all your niche soft drink and candy products. Beatles and other classic rock memorabilia covering the walls make it a memorable experience every time. I always order the godfather

Roys is unique because of how they sell their sub sizec small for three to four dollars which makes it easy for you to mix and match and get a different taste of a few choices for the price of what you would pay for one sub somewhere else

I really like at atmosphere in here! Walked by it a lot but always couldn’t make it for dinner after work since it closes at 7 but finally checked it out on a Saturday. Got the Godfather, which was not bad for a large size. I was on the floor for a good hour after eating all that good stuff. Can take some time for your sandwich to be made so call ahead if you can.

Well I now have something to be excited for when I fly into Logan. I’m a pilot and waiting around for passengers at the FBO at Logan is miserable, until now. By far one of the best sandwich shops I’ve been to. Got the godfather and it did not disappoint. Waited about ten minutes which was very quick considering how packed the shop was. I could come here for 2 years straight and never try the same thing twice. I’m looking very forward to coming here again and trying something new each time. Great place!

Spicy Italian was a winner in my book! It was my first time and certainly won’t be my last! He does subs, wraps, salads, pizza, he does it all! Roy was also very nice and it wasn’t a long wait at all!

I know ambrosia is supposed to be the food of the gods, but that must just be the word they use for sandwiches from Roy’s. A treasure of east boston, I love their food. Any place that can make sandwiches this well deserves recognition. I also love the atmosphere and place itself. Stop in, get some subs to go, have a picnic; you won’t regret it.

This place is the absolute bomb! I flew into Logan and Unilocal’d some places and came across this gem. Met the owner and his daughter. They were helpful and recommended some great items on their menu. Highly recommend: «the dog did it». It’s a chicken cutlet sub with fried broccoli and melted American cheese… on a toasted roll. Amazing! Just visiting this place and experiencing the ambience is worth it.

This place is cool and very different from all the other sub shops around. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. The memorabilia in the shop is really neat. I recommend Roy’s if you’re in the East Boston area.
