Had a nice meal here with my wife and a good friend. Wasn’t impressed with the food, though the service and ambiance were great. If you’re in the mood for thai and in this area, try it out. If you can go a little further, look elsewhere.

One of my favorite thai restaurant’s in Boston! First of all the location is amazing, given that it is right in between Newbury Street. The food is amazing and the staff is really sweet. They make sure to customize your food, if you mention specifications while placing the order. My go to place if I am around Newbury/Copley.

The Best Thai Food in the Back Bay, great Coconut Ice Cream additionally, although they may be somewhat often out of it… everything I’ve gotten has been a success, Siamese Twins, Duck, pad Thai.

They should rename their restaurant to Thai Disappointment. Why does the duck looked like a brown saggy ballsack? What even are green noodles? Why do the egg rolls taste like you can buy 30 for 5 bucks at Costco? These are all questions I asked when I experienced this restaurant for the first time. I paid 18 bucks and got a small ass plastic container with trashy food. Would not come again.

Food was done extremely quickly(probably ready in ~15 minutes) but was less than tasty. I got a pad thai with chicken and shrimp, which lacked taste — it was pretty bland even after adding spicy sauce. It could have had to do with it being cooked and reheated or similar. I also got spring rolls, which were fine. The peanut sauce was good, but the rolls had very little vermicelli and were less than amazing.

This place was amazing. I went there for my birthday dinner and it’s one of the best meals I’ve had. Hands down the best Thai food I’ve eaten. We got the chicken satay & spring rolls for apps — then for entrees, we had the half duck(I’m having dreams about the duck since) and the pad moon sen. Amazing.

Mango curry toasted ducky is delicious while pad thai is A little bit sour. The service is good.

Adorable place hidden down the stairs off newbury st. They are very pleasant and quick to come and ask for drinks etc. we had the shumai, shrimp rolls and vegetable spring rolls. Delicious! Didn’t do dinner since it was 4pm and just popped in for a quick Snack. Can’t wait to come back for dinner! Daughter said it’s very popular with the college students and I can see why. Truly a great find for us. Will come again for sure.

Lovely hidden gem on Newbury! Reasonable priced, casual but nice dimly-lit ambiance and mostly friendly servers. Crab rangoons are a must!

I have only written one negative review, which I reversed when the company righted the wrong, I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for five years. Most of my orders were pickup, in the past four months I have ordered delivery. The first two or three times the food came and the delivery person refused to deliver to my door, my building has an elevator. The next two times they refused to deliver to my door, despite my broken knees, and instead of a 30 minute delivery 1 hour, No snow, 5pm, it takes 10 minutes to cook the food and 10 minutes to deliver. With traffic figure 15 minutes at the outset. I know, I picked up there for approximately 5 years and it was always ready in 10 minutes. Tonight, after an hour of wait, they told me 20 more minutes, after 20 more minutes, I was told the same thing, 20 more minutes, after 10 more minutes I cancelled. And not one phone call during this time that they were running late. At least when I order from Hsin Hsin café on Mass Ave, they come within 30 minutes, or tell me they are very busy, it could be an hour. I appreciate that they value my time. Tonight, not only did they not value my time, they misled me into thinking at the onset it would be a quick delivery, then 20 mins, then again 20 mins, adn after 20 more minutes it still wasn’t here. Two hours from a Thai café? That is an intentional falsehood. Thai Basil has gone downhill in the past few years. Tonight, they lost me as a customer. In this economy loyalty is everything.

Nestled in a downstairs subterranean location off Newbury street, we found this little place of Thai. When ordering Thai, we always ask for authentic Thai spiciness, which always leaves us with that burning sensation for days, but the waitress told us authentic Thai is not spicy? News to me. Springs rolls great, chicken satei great, crab rangoon great, Pad Thai amazing, Panang curry average and bitter, Thai iced tea really good. Highly recommended, but their Panang was a little too bitter without much depth of flavors. Would definitely go back for Pad Thai.

Random find as I walked around Newbury Street. Food is amazing, and it was not a busy restaurant. It’s located downstairs and its December right now so it may also be weather related. I’d come here every day of the week if I could! I had the lime Rickey & chicken ginger dish.

Food is just ok. I ordered at 1:30pm and the food was set to be delivered by 2:30. At 3pm I called and was told by the hostess that she would call the delivery driver — who then called me 20 minutes later to inform me that he was just arriving to the restaurant and would be on his way over to me asap. It took him only 10 minutes to get to me, and he was a nice and apologetic guy so I wasn’t annoyed with him but I will certainly never order from them again. I ordered steamed fish — which is a dish you don’t want sitting out for too long. Also, if you know the delivery time will take significantly longer than the estimation it’s your duty to call the customer to inform them. You don’t wait for them to call before you tell them«it’s busy in the restaurant». If the food was really good I’d return for take out or something, but it just wasn’t worth it. Ugh.

Small family owned established but I’m a sucker for these places. Quick service and boy was I starving. The dishes were great. If only I knew about this place when I first arrived at Boston Park Plaza. I would come back indeed!

Thai Basil is a lunchtime staple near my office(for me at least). The options are pretty reasonable and I can usually find a place to sit down. I usually get the basil fried rice or yellow curry special — both are very good. I’ve ventured around on the menu and tried a few other dishes that were not that great. In fact, they were not good at all and reminded me of what I’d get from a cheap American Chinese take-out place. The service is generally friendly and no-frills, but the past two times I’ve been there(this summer) I’ve had to wait quite a while for my dish. I’ll still head back there and won’t hesitate to eat there again.

I will go back here for sure. The food was SOGOOD! That is not a lie. The location is in the heart of Newbury, great for dinner after a day of exhausted shopping. I had a variety of dishes, no complaining here.

Hits the spot for Thai, but definitely not the best. Staff is friendly, and the Thai Ice Coffee is probably the best thing on the menu. I got spring rolls(they’re so tiny — I felt like a giant!), pad thai(meh), chicken wings(I was expecting Thai spicy wings — like at Ginger Exchange). Do yourself a favor and walk up to Ginger Exchange at Symphony or Bangkok City on Mass Ave.

Awesome sport for lunch! Pretty much everything here is great — the pad thai and pad see ew are delish. The noddle soups are AWESOME — steaming cauldrons of flavorful broth packed with noodles, veggies, etc. The noodle soups really hit the spot in fall and winter, though they are so delicious I I can’t resist ordering them year round. Favorites include the tom yum noodle soup, though they’re all amazing.

The food was pretty good. I’d probably come here again but it wasn’t something to seriously rave about. I ordered the crabmeat fried rice, but I found myself adding a lot more soy sauce to give some flavor. My friend got the tropical fried rice and she kept adding some on too. We weren’t given much attention during our meal and our waiter was slightly rude when I asked her for soy sauce.
