The Atrium

Leasing staff changed and they are very helpful.

I have been living here for 2 years.
The location is pretty good, but the management is the worst and one of the securities is annoying and mean.
It takes a long time for them to fix things and it will break again.
The price is extremely high and it’s getting higher and higher with bad condition of the service.
Some of the rules are weird, for example, you cannot have over ten people in your apartment, etc.
Definitely have to ask people who had been living here before you move in.

Definitely a place to consider if you are willing to drop about 1200 a month on rent!
The Pros:
–AC, AC, AC!!!
–access to a pool
–laundry machines within the building
–personal balconies
–security guards in the lobby (good or bad depending on your view, they can be annoying at times)
The cons:
–honestly, just expensive. Not the prettiest, but with the right furniture can be made into something really nice.

I lived at The Atrium for 4 years and overall it was good.
The good: Convenient to supermarkets, public transportation, Storrow Drive, and Mass Pike. Also within walking distance (in the summer, at least) of Coolidge Corner and Fenway Park. Also, there’s a free outdoor pool, an in-​house full-​service gym (membership required), and garaged parking.
The bad: The occupants are like 90% college students, so it feels like a dorm sometimes. The pool gets noisy in the summer, and if your unit is next to a party apartment, good luck. Management is very nice and friendly, but it takes a loooooong time to get stuff fixed.
For me, the good outweighed the bad most of the time. I moved out because I was relocating; otherwise I would probably still be living there.

I lived here during my sophmore year of college and was not impressed. I also lived in a 2,000 sq ft. duplex with a very large living room, two bed/​two bath, and two balconies… I also paid a lot for it. A lot more than it deserved. For BU kids who spend their parents’ money, it’s great. It’s right in front of the Bright T stop on the green line (for when you don’t want to take the Audi or Beamer out), next door to both Shaw’s Market and Super 88, has a health club downstairs, a swimming pool, 24-​hour doorman and dry cleaners that deliver across the street.
The bad news is that the Atrium is just plain ugly. The building is very institutional looking, and is basically a glorified dorm. It’s full of pretentious Eurotrash who spend their days smoking on their balconies. Forget about getting any rest on the weekends, many of the tenants like to throw large parties where you’ll find kids racing down the hallways drunk at 4am, usually resulting in something broken.
Worst part of living at the Atrium? OK… two worst things…
1. The security guards/​doormen are skeezy. Where do they find these bozos?
2. The management is awful. It took them six months to replace a screen door on the balcony, and eight months to replace a broken cabinet in my kitchen. Both were supposed to be done before we even moved in!
If you’re thinking about moving into the Atrium, I don’t recommend it. I don’t care if all your rich Brazilian friends are living there. It’s not worth it. You’re better off renting at the Somerset on Comm Ave.

The Atrium is a step to T (B line) and very close to Super 88 (a large Asian super market) and Shaws. So it was convenience to live there.
I lived in a duplex which had 2 floors, a living rm, kitchen on upper level and two bedrooms are on lower level. The apartment is huge enough to have a large party! (It could handle 15 friends of mine)
Sometimes it’s too noisy on Friday/​Saturday nights, yeah too many parties. Anyway it was good when I lived there.
