Lot of us! ike the idea of supporting local businesses, buying local good & just keeping the cash circulating in the local ecosystem but we then shop at Target, buy goods made on the other side of the planet & let the cash flow elsewhere. This mini mart is quite the definition of a local business that serves the community that surrounds it. It is quite unassuming when you 1st walk by. There is no big sign put front except for a grand opening sign in the gated driveway. It was closed for so long that the only thing that made me go in what the glowing open sign. It is nestled a few blocks from the Wood Island MBTA station this market takes me back to the corner bodegas that I grew up with near New York City. The space is filled with delights from all the corners of South America & beyond. It is surprising that even with the limited space that the store has fresh produce, fruits, packaged meats & interesting snacks. The staff are always helpful & friendly especially when I cannot pronounce something. My walk to the T brings me by here a dozen times a week & I really do feel good when I see a few bikes parked out front or when a person walks out with a small bag of goodies on their way home. This is true local business helping out a community that really needed it. I would give it a try if you happen to be nearby.
