Normally Landsdowne street on a saturday is not somewhere you would find me. But a friend’s band was playing at the Modern so I made an exception. I was actually pleasantly surprised. This place is much more lounge-​y than clubish, so it’s more mellow, and not as trashy as some of the places on that strip can be. They did stick with the Landsdowne theme of being expensive (5 $ Miller Light) and really really dark, though. And clearly, the music was killer. I don’t know when I’ll be back to that part of the world, but it was definitely a good time.
