I came here for the first time for my 29th Birthday. Can I just say my Waiter his name was Jared was absolutely the Best. He definitely knows how to do his job. He is Great at it. He knew everything about the Menu. Answered every question that everyone had. Most importantly he Catered to me, The Birthday Girl. He had very good vibes. He was Funny liked to joke around. He took pics of us when we asked & also got one with the Awesome Person he is. Also he cut my cake and passed it down to everyone who wanted a slice. The 11 people that ordered food from here were all Satisfied with their meal. The Seafood was sooo Fresh & Tasty. Everything had good flavor. The Lobster was Sweet and juicy. We just all loved Everything. Good Portions. I had got the Fried Calamari for starters and it was fried Perfectly with a nice sauce on it. Lastly, when I called to make a Reservation I told them that it was my Birthday and they had very nice Personalized Menus made just for me. I absolutely Loved it so much. Service was Fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Make sure you ask for waiter Jared. I am definitely coming back here!

Came to this restaurant awhile back for my birthday and have been meaning to write a review ever since. It was great! The menus were printed with my name and Happy Birthday across the top. That was a surprise! The lobster was very good and our waiter was exceptional. He was very attentive. The atmosphere is upscale but great for special occasions. I will definitely try to make it back soon!

This used to be my go-to seafood/celebration spot, but they’ve changed the menu and it’s not as good. They seem to be catering to corporate groups who aren’t spending their own money($ 48 for a dozen oysters). The sides were uninspired with an Asian fusion slant, the service was confused, the wine list was meh. For this price point, I expect a bit more. I’ll head to Ocean Prime from now on.

We had a great time. The food was amazing and the staff welcoming. We took a chance looking for a nice place for upscale dining and it did not disappoint. Pricey but so often you pay for just mediocre food but all four of us said our dinners were amazing.

The oyster Rockefeller was very yum, my entrée was filet and shrimp which was decent but definitely overpriced. Nice atmosphere but slightly stuffy. Martini was way too strong but no big deal. Lobster was so so. Experience wasn’t great but also wasn’t bad. Biggest drawback was the 200.00 dinner ticket for two.

We had a special dinner for about 14 people here. Everyone raved about the quality of food, presentation and the service. Because of the number of people, we had 2 servers taking orders and more delivering the food. It was a perfect place for a group. We had room around the table to be able to visit and move around and the acoustics allowed us to hear each other easily. By the way, there is valet service here. (The price range is higher than I marked with drinks and wine.)

Came back to Oceanaire and it was still amazing! Tasty choices — Stuffed flounder, crab cakes, tuna poke, black and blue scallops. Great service by Stephan. Can’t wait to come back. Nice touch with the personalized menu.

This place was the best part of my trip to Boston. The service was impeccable, and the food even more impeccable. For appetizers we order the calamari and 8 of the pemaquid oysters. My fiancé had the stuffed lobster for his entrée, I had the crab cakes, and we shared the grilled asparagus. Everything was fresh and delicious! The oysters we served with cocktail sauce, vinegar, lemon, and we asked for hot sauce. AMAZING! Our waiter was so on point, definitely could tell he takes pride in his work. My crab cakes we made with jumbo lump crab, no filler. The Holy grail of crab cakes! We topped off dinner with their crème brûlée and Boston cream pie. The brulee was yummy, not to sweet. But that boston cream pie was EVERYTHING! I’d go back to Boston just to wheat here again!

Perfect for a business lunch. Food is excellent, service is friendly and efficient, atmosphere is classy. The price point is extremely reasonable considering all the above. Not very crowded or noisy at lunch time(in a good way). I can’t speak to the afterwork vibe but I highly recommend for business lunch.

My and my husband went there for my birthday. The inside is beautiful with blue lighting. The staff was friendly, they took picture for us and I had a special happy birthday menu. The waiter was butler like so its quite a upscale place. The highlight of the place is baked alaska, he lit it in front of us, so cool. It tastes like normal ice cream though. The bottom cake soaks up the alcohol, as a non drinker like me, it tastes quite weird but my husband didnt mind it.

The service was awesome. Friendly and accommodating staff. The place is gorgeous. I wanted to twirl around when I walked through the door. Came here for my 20th .! The food was mediocre, but i didn’t order the crab cakes like my heart was telling me. I can say the lump crab and potato was bomb the next day. Enjoyed my trip here. But, next time I’ll listen to my heart– I hear that’s everyone’s fav!

Our company visits Boston every year for a convention and we always make time to stop by. Our entrees were perfect and we shared the mac and cheese and a few other sides. But honestly who cares about the other sides! GETTHEMACANDCHEESE. You’re welcome! :D

So Im actually completely against any and all seafood, but ended up going here for lunch for a meeting. We were there for two hours… though, some of the guys ended up being late… lunch service still took quite a long time. However, the entire wait staff was great. I mentioned I drink water like a fish… and my glass was never empty. Really liked the chicken sandwich I got, everyone seemed to be okay with their food, but the place seemed… too dressy for what it was. Overall, good… but when I walk into a restaurant with guys in white coats, I wouldn’t expect a mundane lunch service to take 2 hours :/. Given the place is seafood, no one really talked about how much they loved the food… so that probably wasn’t too good a sign.

I had been looking forward to coming here for awhile and I was pretty disappointed with my experience there. I came here with a bunch of girlfriends for my friend’s birthday. The service was pretty slow. The waiter kept forgetting orders and had to come back a couple times to ask what we had ordered. Also, they left the wine glasses on the table for awhile, even though no one ordered wine. We had to move the glasses to the edge of the table to make room and to prompt the waiter to take them away. I don’t mean to sound snobby but clearing wine glasses after taking orders is restaurant etiquette 101. First off, their espresso martinis are amazing. Probably the best I’ve had in Boston so far. It’s not on the drink menu but they’ll make you one if you ask nicely :) We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, mushrooms and truffle fries for the table. The Mac and cheese was seriously the star of the night! It was filled with lobster chunks and had the right amount of cheese. The ritz crackers on top pulled the whole dish together. I wish I had gotten just that as my entrée! The mushrooms were ok. They didn’t have much flavor and tasted just like mushrooms sautéed in olive oil. I couldn’t taste the soy vinaigrette at all. The girls liked the truffle fries but personally I thought they were way too salty and didn’t have much truffle flavor. I had my heart set on the seared Canada swordfish entrée but they ran out of swordfish… I was extremely disappointed. So I chose the sesame seared yellowfin tuna. The quality of the tuna was really good but I wish I had gotten a bigger portion of the tuna. $ 40 for 7 small slices of tuna seemed a little extreme to me. I have been to other restaurants in the area that sell the same quality and grade of tuna for less than what I paid for at Oceanaire. The presentation of the dish was also really messy. The sauce they had drizzled on the dish was dripping off the dish when I got it. I know that’s not the chef’s fault but it was just something that kind of irked me. Oceanaire is supposed to be an upscale restaurant and I don’t think that I got my money’s worth. A couple of the girls got the stuffed lobster and that looked pretty good, so maybe get that if you decide to go? For desserts, we got the crème brûlée, key lime pie and baked Alaska. They were all really good. The key lime pie had the consistency of a cheesecake which was amazing. That was probably my favorite dessert. The girls loved the crème brûlée. I’m not really sure if I’ll be back. I would recommend this place to seafood lovers, since the quality of their seafood is great but I think it’s a little overpriced and really hyped up.

lunch recently, at the bar service was ok, we had some of the listed cocktails and there were good had the smoked fish app and it was excellent had the burger and same results as last time, cooked as ordered tender, NOFLAVOR wife had the oyster po boy, it was ok this is a high priced place, very pretty in an old lovely bank building but when you take off the really high priced meals, esp for lunch you are left with maybe 10 choices so it is pretty, and it is expensive!

Came here to celebrate my brother in law’s birthday. For the four of us, this place ripped a hole in my wallet. It was my fault though since I was adamant to pay. Decoration is very nice. Ambiance is classy and romantic. However, I wish the light would be more dim to create a better romantic environment. Lights were a bit too bright. Overall, a very upscale atmosphere. However, I was not impressed with the food. Our waiter was never around, leaving our water glasses empty throughout dinner. The food was underwhelming and lacking of flavor. For a $ 350 dinner, I expected much better quality of food and service.

It was okay for the price. The appetizers and sides were amazing but I was very disappointed with my entrée, the John Dory. It was a tad too salty and the meat was cooked for a little too long, so it was on the tough side. My colleagues all enjoyed thier dishes but all specifically mentioned that the food was«good but not as good as they hoped, given the reviews.» This place seems promising and the staff was extremely attentive, so I’m hoping to be wowed next time I’m there – I saw someone’s baked Alaska and it looks amazing!

Wonderful atmosphere, nice and quiet for our weekly date night. We had the crab cake appetizer, mixed seafood grill, and the baked Alaska for dessert. Everything was very tasty, it could have been seasoned a bit more for a $ 200 bill but overall I was pleased. The pumpkin vanilla baked Alaska was amazing though!

We came here for our anniversary dinner since I have the greatest love for seafood. It happened a few months back, so I hope most of memory of the experience stuck with me. The restaurant was inside an old building, but the interior felt really classy, modern and intimate. We were given a menu that read«Happy Anniversary». Our waitress was extremely helpful answering questions we had about the menu, given that it was really overwhelming. We started off with clam chowder and a round of oysters(forgot which we ordered but they were sweet and fresh). For entrees, I got the seared flounder and the boy got the seared salmon. Both were good, but I thought mine was better. It was literally fish and crab heaven with everything cooked to perfection. We also shared some sides — mashed and sautéed spinach. The sides were huge. I thought my dish didn’t come with any side, but there was a scoop of mashed. Oh well. For dessert, we had the baked alaskan because I wanted to see my dessert light up. Two kinds of ice cream covered in meringue, which was drizzled with some alcohol(again, I forgot what). It was cool, even though I was full.

There are very few times when I say that a $ 100* meal is actually worth; however, this was one of those times. The BF and I came here to celebrate the three years of hell it took to get through law school. In the opentable reservation, BF noted that it was my law school graduation to which the staff responded wonderfully. At some places, this would mean a free scoop week old ice cream, but here, it meant the coveted love set table in the middle of the restaurant. Our waitress was really great, very attentive and more importantly when she didn’t know the answer to a question, she didn’t just make it up(one of my biggest pet-peeves!) BF wanted to know the difference between two or three different whiskeys and our waitress went and asked a senior staff who came back to us with a really helpful description. Once we ordered drinks & a bottle of wine(which was kept in a ice bucket stand, hallelujah!) we proceeded to order food. When you’re at the Oceannaire, you’re obviously going to order the steak… jk! We order oysters and other phenomenal seafood. This was where our waitress shined. She explained that Island Creek Oysters were brinier and were really popular since they’re super local so we order a few. We then got the ceviche and tuna poke, which were to die for! TL;DR version? Yeah it’s gonna cost you some cash money, but it’s actually really worth it. Have your SO treat you ;)
