I was going to give this place a 2 or 3 stars due to their seating and wait system; but the food was really good so they get 4 stars. The wait is totally worth it, however, you’re standing inside the tiny dining room and the bus boy elbows and kicks you every time he is taking dirty dishes back to the kitchen. You’re also standing by occupied tables which means people are eating their food while you’re jammed by their table waiting to get your food. All that aside, I like how they make your food right before your eyes and once you’re seated, your food follows you to the table. You’re also getting quality food. Potatoes are out of this world. So flavorful and delicious. We also ordered French toast with blueberries and strawberries as well as the chorizo omelette. Both were well made and delicious. I wish they did something about their tiny dining room and wait system.

Loved it! The wait on a late Sunday morning was long and my wife almost ate my arm waiting. However, it was worth it. Definitely try the chorizo omelette and one of French toast offerings. Tiny place be their cafeteria style of service allows you to eat as soon as you sit.

Don’t order take out. You’ll get there and a rude woman will swipe your card, and then proceed to unapologetically tell you that they actually don’t have the items you ordered. Even though you just drove 20 minutes there. And even though they just swiped your card and charged you for the items. And then they’ll do absolutely nothing to make up for it; won’t even acknowledge that they messed up. Left this place feeling confused and thoroughly disappointed.

Oh, The Paramount! I’ve been here several times over the past 4 years, and it is very consistent. The food is fantastic. Sweet and savory, they have down pat. I typically would get the sweet stuff for brunch; Fresh Caramel and Banana French Toast in particular. What a delicious dish. It feels like diabetes though, so if you’re not into the super sweet, I recommend against it. I’ve also gotten their Malted Belgian Waffle, which is quite good, although you have to pay all sorts of extra for fruit on top. Most recently I got a tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella omelet with egg whites. This was my attempt to be relatively healthy, and I typically hate eating healthy foods with the assumption that it will be bland. I must say though, this was quite a good omelet. The balance of basil and fresh mozzarella certainly contributed to the light, yet yummy flavor. Usually I get a coffee drink or juice to go with the meal. All have been good, but I think that like any diner type restaurant, juice is way over priced. The service here is always wonderful. Despite the long wait and interesting seating rules(don’t save seats until you get your food. They’ll typically find a seat for you and bring your tray of food over for you), everything else runs quite smoothly. The employees are always welcoming, happy, and polite. With such a busy place to help run, I would imagine they would get stressed more, but if they do, they never show it. Definitely recommend coming here earlier in the day as far as weekends go. I’ve come around 930/10AM and it’s been just fine, but come around 11 – 12 and you’ll be stuck for quite some time. If it’s hot, bring a bottle of water, although I do remember that they offered free water for customers one hot summer day. I think that it’s worth a try! I’ve always enjoyed my meals and experiences here, and I’m sure going to miss it!

«Dat caramel tho». Slogan for my weekend in Boston. Got a Sausage Breakfast sandwich and the Caramel & Banana French Toast to split between my best friend and I. Oh boy, both choices were delicious! I love cheese and that melted cheese on the breakfast sandwich was soooooo good. The all star was the caramel on the french toast. It was the best caramel I have ever tasted. I wanted to buy a bottle of it.

This is a cafeteria style place, which I’m usually all about, but here there isn’t even room to wait in line. No matter where you are, you’re constantly in the way of the staff. They definitely need a slightly larger space to accommodate the long lines that appear on the weekends. I don’t mind a long wait, but the situation of the wait was incredibly frustrating. As for food, I got a Belgian waffle covered in fruit and a side of bacon. The fruit included strawberries and bananas, as well as different melons, which I don’t like in general and also don’t see them as a good match for waffles. The waffle was a bit dry, and not warm enough for me to even spread the butter on. It was fine, but definitely nothing special. The 3 strips of bacon were all cooked differently, but they were fine. If you’re close by on a weekday, I’d say drop in, but it’s not worth the wait and inconvenience that you’ll have during the weekend rush.

Don’t worry about grabbing a table when coming here for food. Just make sure you get a spot in line. The service here is different than most places. Instead of scouting out a table, you wait in a queue to order your food, pay for your food, and then someone will help you grab a table to sit at. I came here on a Friday afternoon and even though it wasn’t during the lunch rush, we still had to wait for about 25 minutes. The actual food was really good and even though I only ordered the BBQ chopped salad, the pancakes and french toast piled high with an assortment of fruits looked bomb. If you’re claustrophobic, enjoy lounging in large open areas, or coming with a large group, this place is probably not the most ideal.

Love this place! The Paramount is cafeteria style, meaning you get your food first before you’re seated. Which thinking about that is weird, but there is always seating for you by the time you get your food, so don’t worry! My first time here, I waited about an hour since I came here during its peak hours during brunch on a weekday. I thought it wasn’t going to worth the wait, but boy was I wrong! I got a breakfast sandwich, and everything about that was cooked to perfection. The eggs, the meat, and even the English muffin was nice and soft! I also had home fries, and those were probably the best I’ve ever had. I came here a second time and the wait wasn’t as long, even though it was a Sunday. This time around, I ordered chocolate chip pancakes with berries and that was super yummy! The pancakes were fluffy and the berries were ripe and combined well with my pancakes. I love the service there and everyone does everything with a smile and they never hestitate or question you on anything. I would totally recommend The Paramount to anyone, and even though it gets packed and there is not much space, it’s a nice, cozy feeling.

Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Though we arrived shortly after it opened, there was already a lineup of about 15 people in front of us. After waiting for 20 minutes in the queue, we decided to get an order of the chorizo omelette and the caramel banana french toast. The chorizo omelette was very tasty – I don’t think it was that large, but it also came with a couple slices of toast and some homestyle potatoes. The omelette and chorizo was very tasty, while the toast and potatoes were quite average – but it was a decent dish nonetheless. The banana french toast was also very good. It came topped with about two bananas sliced up – and these were sweet and ripe bananas, so it complimented the french toast very well. The french toast was also well done and quite satisfying. Overall, the food here is pretty good and they get it to you only a couple of minutes after ordering. The only crux here is that it’s a bit of a rush once you get your food since they are constantly clearing and trying to turn tables because of the limited space. Otherwise, if you are up early and don’t mind a bit of a crowd around you as you eat, this is a great breakfast option in the area.

BEST breakfast food of all time. Service is also wonderful, and all the waiters and staff seem very kind and considerate. The food is cooked near the tables, so you can watch your breakfast miracle being made :) The eggs come with a side of toast and cajun fries, and you can get a side of a variety of meat options for $ 4. Came out to a little more than $ 11.

First time here and I needed to see what all the hype was about. We waited about an hour(they have this really weird seating policy where they don’t sit you until you have your food. So, it works very weird.) The place is super tiny and it’s kind of set up like you’re in elementary school. You go to the back and place and order then wait for your food to be cooked, pay THEN you get seated. Not a fan of this but they say it’s been working since 1937 so hey! Food is OKAY. Honestly nothing special pretty much a basic brunch.

It’s a good breakfast. Queue pretty mental, but it moves. Simple, does what it say, friendly, but more than that? Not really. You won’t be disappointed, but you won’t be raving either.

Staying in downtown Boston for a business trip, I love breakfast and wanted to try what the local like and go to. Small and cozy place. You walk in, go the the back, place your order and you can watch as they make it. Pick your drinks, pay and get seated while they bring your food to you. I order the breakfast sandwich with sausage and homestyle. Eggs cooked perfectly and nice helping of sausage. The potatoes are good without ketchup! We also order Texas French toast and pancakes to share. I am more of a waffle girl but I would never turn down sweets! Pancakes are buttery and fluffy. Just add a dash of syrup and your set. French toast was a little dense and not as fluffy as it looked. Overall the experience was different from your normal sit down breakfast places.

Let me warn you… the wait can be very tedious. We came there around 11am on a Saturday morning and didn’t get to eat until after 12pm. It is cafeteria style — so you can’t get reservations or put your name down, you pretty much stand in line and order what you want and pay up front and either take it to go or eat there. Being out of town, I was not aware of this. BUT the wait is SO worth it. Saying the food was delicious would be an understatement. The four stars is because of the long wait, and the limited amount of seats. I felt like I was so squished in between people even while sitting, and I even had to get up once to let the waitress go through with the food in her hand for another customer. The portions are kinda small as well — I was still hungry after.

Very minimalistic place with great food ! We tried the western Omlette and the Caramel Banana French toast. They do not have any intense presentation of the or food, but nonetheless it all tastes great. In addition to their coffee and tea, they have fresh made juices.

As a lover of breakfasts, I just couldn’t get enough of this place! One thing no one seemed to mention in the reviews I read is that this place is slightly cafeteria style – you go inside, place your order, move down the line to pay, and when you receive your food, a server will help bring your food to a table. There is no saving tables here – you sit when you have your food. As a result, the line backs up a bit. I love this concept to an extent – I knew we would have a table when we received our food. The line moved a bit slowly though. Everything is cooked to order, and I love that the cooks here seemed to be enjoying themselves. They are heavy handed and generous with ingredients and toppings – my three egg western omelet and home fries were so very filling and very welcome after a freezing cold walk over here from our hotel. We shared a large orange juice, but it was so deliciously fresh squeezed that we should have ordered our own separate juices. Our coffee was refilled often. My only gripe is that if you are seated at a table that brushes past the line, be prepared to have elbows to the face while eating. The line is in a narrow area, and people in line don’t hug the wall – I did nudge a person or two away from my food and face while eating. If I find myself in Boston again, I’d make it a point to come back here.

If you’ve ever been walking down Charles street in Beacon Hill and had to divert your course around a crowd of hungover brunch-seekers, then you have witnessed the phenomenon that is the Paramount brunch. While the classic diner-style menu may seem ordinary, the food is anything but. Hence, the line. Once you’ve finally placed your order(~1 hour later, in peak times), it’s only a few short minutes before your brunch is ready. You can’t order wrong here, but I fell in love with the banana caramel stuffed french toast. Get one for the table to accompany your egg sandwich.(And if you’re really too hungry to handle the line on an empty stomach, I recommend grabbing a slice at Upper Crust to eat in line…

The Paramount is one of those classic Boston establishments that everyone needs to try at least once in their life. If for no other reason than to watch yourself grab a table. We were told here that although the lines are ridiculous and it’s not that big a spot, everyone gets a table. This is because they don’t allow you to save seats. You line up, you pay, you get your food, you sit and eat. No delays. No hogging space. You are there to line up, pay and eat. And by golly, it worked just like that. We got a nice mix of breakfast sandwich, huevos rancheros and a few sides and everything was hot, cheap, and delicious. We did queue forever to get it but dammit, it was worth it, and true to their word, we were seated as soon as we had our food. The staff is on their game. They get people in and out quickly but don’t mind if you have a question or want to make substation(like sweet potatoe fries for home fries.) Win. I’d be back. I will be back.

Jackie and I met at the restaurant at 11am on Saturday and we started eating around 12:20pm. Luckily it was nice and sunny outside and Jackie and I hadn’t seen each other in a while so it was a pleasant wait. Next time I would try to avoid this time window if possible though. Inside is a bit crazy. The place works like a cafeteria — you line up to the kitchen, then order, and by the time you’re at the cashier, your food is ready. But the space is tight and there are waiters/waitresses carrying food and people moving in and out through the tight space. I still give this place four stars because the food is great! I got the omelette with feta, baby spinach and tomatoes, which comes with potatoes and toast. Everything tastes very clean — no grease. My friend got oatmeal and I tried a bite: it was creamy and delicious! Price is reasonable as well. $ 9 for all omelette plates!

We were amazed :) It is very good balance between price and quality. Try to come not during pick hours because it gonna be overcrowded but even waiting quite a long time it worth it. I had the huevos rancheros I had almost the impression I was in Mexico Love it My friend had the hang over plate :) awesome

This was a great breakfast place. Keep in mind that the place is not very big and you can only get a table after you have ordered so seating is not guaranteed. You can make your own by pick what you would like on a display of breakfast items such as bacon, sausage, veggies, cheese, etc or, you can ordered one of many great dishes off of their menu. I had the California Avocado Toast! Oh it was so good! They put a good amount of avocado, topped with tomato salsa, bacon bits, and two sunny side up eggs on top of a toasted white baguette. It was perfect. My bf ordered their french toast with a side of fruit. The toast was great and the syrup was not overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, everything was really good.

I was worried reading the reviews about the long lines but seeing how this was one of the top restaurants in Boston for brunch, I knew we had to meet up here. We met up with my husband’s great aunt here for brunch right after we got into Boston. I anticipated waiting in line but when we got there, there were no lines outside the door, but there was a short line inside to put your order in. Here’s how it works, very similar to how some places work in San Diego. –Stand in line –Check in, check your phones –Look at what to order at the menu above –Put in your order with the cooks –Get your tray and put your plate on it –Order your drink –Pay We spoke with a lady in line with us that she’s been going there for 42 years and she loves everything on the menu. I had to get the Belgian waffle with strawberries on top because it sounded delish. My husband got the omelette and my kids got the eggs and potatoes hash. The orange juice is fresh squeezed so it was one of our favorites. Our great aunt got the eggs and tomato omelette because the lady behind us suggested it even though it wasn’t on the menu. The place has a nice feel to it, tables are limited so try and find a spot as soon as you order. I love supporting old-time mom and pop places and this is definitely one of them.
