I love the building. A nice mix of people, no crazy college students, mainly young professionals, families, and older couples. I’m a renter but it’s mostly owners. There are occasional rentals posted to buildings weblink system and studios are ~1,700−1,900 and one bedrooms ~2,000. As it is a condo building so the apartments vary, but I think most have been somewhat updated. Great closet space and the kitchen in the studios is separate(not gallery). AC could be a little better(it’s one of those A/C or heat only units). Pretty great amenities, a nice pool(although you only get sun before 2pm; it is outside), workout room, sauna and steam room. The people at the front desk are very nice and try to get to know you. There’s parking for tenants and you can reserve guest parking(cheaper than anywhere else nearby). The garage attendant has his moments but it’s all good. Front facing views are great — the park, Charles river, state house, prudential center. Not bad! Overall an enjoyable place to live.

Tremont on the Common is a well run building that is an excellent value for the location and amenities. The location is right on the park and across from the park street station. The views from the front are amazing and the back views are not too shabby above the 20th floor. Although the building looks dated on the outside, the inside was renovated in 2006 and is very nice. The negatives are that there are several renters in the building, especially on the lower floors. However the condo association tries to limit college students and most are young professionals. Also, some of the unrenovated units are dated, and you will not find top end appliances and floor to ceiling windows. That said, you are buying/renting at a significant discount to nearby bulidings(Ritz, W, Grandview, Archstone). Buyers can appreciate the lower condo fees(~$ 400 for a one bedroom) compared to other luxury buildings. The lower condo fees are surprising given that the amenities are more than other buildings(concierge, pool, gym, sauna, steam room, library with soon to be added wireless internet!). Not being über-rich but still wanting a taste of luxury, I love living in this building and the minor inconveniences are far outweighed by the price/location/view/management benefits.
