so disappointing. for years I’ve heard about this brand, saw countless pictures on fb and instagram talking about how amazing and unique these donuts were. Then this branch opened up near Haymarket and I thought, perfect! I can finally go try them! And I don’t even mind paying the $ 3.50. If it’s a good donut, then that price is worth it. Was it a good donut? No, it was not. It was oily and greasy and flavorless. I had half a mind to throw it out. I won’t be returning or trying any of the other flavors, because this first experience was just bad.

Union Square Donuts … Ah. I love donuts. This location at Boston Public Market is nice but can get a little hectic on the weekends. But the donuts themselves are delicious. Because this is just a stand at the market, they tend to run out of popular flavors quicker than usual. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every flavor I’ve tried but by far my favorites are the salted caramel and the vanilla bean. The donuts are big and fair for the $ 3 they charge. And honestly, I’d rather pay $ 3 for a donut from Union Square than a chain donut shop. They taste better and the ingredients are fresher, hands down. So next time you find yourself in the Boston Public Market, definitely come by and give a donut a try!

Every donut I’ve had from USD has been soggy and flavorless, no matter which variety I get. I’ve had their Brown Butter Hazelnut Crunch, Maple Bacon, Vanilla Bean, Apple Crisp, and Belgium Dark Chocolate at various points in the day and honestly, if you blindfolded me and gave me samples of each, I probably wouldn’t be able to tell each one apart. They all just taste like sugar. The Maple Bacon had zero maple flavor. Perhaps one needs to go to their actual main site in Somerville to get a fresh and therefore better tasting donut. I love donuts and I really wanted to like Union Square Donuts and don’t even mind paying the premium especially if it’s for a high quality pastry and it’s to support a local business. But taste-wise for me, there are far better options in Boston.

Review is just based on the maple bacon donuts. They’re kind of on the savory side with the bacon bits, and it was an interestingly good mix! But the donut itself didn’t taste very fresh and instead tasted kind of dry. Also kind of on the pricey side($ 3.50 for a donut) Try the main location if you can!

after hearing all the hype about union square donuts, I finally got a chance to stop by the boston public market location. unfortunately I was really disappointed at how underwhelming the donuts were. I got the brown butter hazelnut, which was okay, and the sea salt bourbon caramel, which didn’t really have any caramel taste to it and was so dry and stale, I didn’t even want to finish it. I’m probably never going to get a chance to stop by their actual store in Somerville because they have such terrible hours and close so early so I guess I won’t ever find out what the hype is all about.

Love union square but will not buy them from Boston public market again. They were hard and tasted stale/day old. Usually the donuts are so light and fluffy. These weren’t good. But the Somerville location always has good donuts!!!

DUHLICIOUS Union square donuts is as good as it gets. I was going to try these babies a couple of weeks ago but I was caught by the aroma of the apple cider donuts. BUT I finally got around to stop by USD. I tried the brown butter hazelnut crunch, fantastic! the dough has a soft cinnamon flavor. paired along the brown butter hazelnut topping… life changing. My second choice was the maple bacon, which my friend had and I was able to take a bite, also wonderful! I WILLBEBACK * terminator voice*

Loved the donuts here! They were very big and sweet! I got 6 to go and struggled to eat them all so I just took a bite out of all of them and saved them for later. Probably won’t buy 6 next time as they don’t sit well for long. Would recommend finding your favorite and savoring the yummy donut.

Yes, these donuts will change your life. I got a maple bacon at the new Boston Public Market mainly because they repeatedly sold out of 90% of the other flavors, and it was to die for. I can now never return to shitty Dunkin Donuts. However, these donuts are crazy priced. This one was $ 3.50. For a donut. Let that sink in. They’re delicious. But I am not willing to remortgage the condo to buy a dozen so it will definitely have to be a once a month treat. Enjoy!
