We were walking Newberry street after a long few days, and I needed a rest, so we found this little gem of a place and sat outside in the(not freezing) Boston December weather and enjoyed some conversation and people watching. Lots of options on the menu, for those who drink coffee, or drink tea(me!). I ended up getting an iced unsweetened blueberry hibiscus tea, which was delicious and very refreshing. Docked star because the bathroom… it had many problems when I used it: toilet paper end was not visible, and for the life of me I couldn’t get it started, and then the paper towels were out. So it was just a very disjointed bathroom experience. Good ambience, and I’ll be back. They had a cool array of snacks, with lots of alternative gluten-free more«crunchy» options, which I enjoyed seeing. I’ll be recommending this place to others.

Good coffee. To my surprise Boston doesn’t have really good coffee places. I would recommend the latte because the espresso ones weren’t as good as I expected. The food I never tried. Their selection is extremely limited.

The young lady working tonight was super pleasant and personable and even assisted me in picking out the best tea for this silly cold I have going on. She helped me right away and gave me both tea lists to choose from going over each of them with me. :)

Best tasting coffee on newbury street. Has internet, additional seating in back. Has patio seating in season. Street level entrance, then walk downstairs.

A small place with VERY limited seating, but it makes some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! In addition to their wide variety of coffee, you can decide exactly how it’s made. I got the Sweet Puppy Love coffee made in a French Press; this coffee is so good that everyone will want to drink it black. Unlike a lot of other coffee shops, they don’t really have a bakery, but offer a small selection of baked goods. I got a Chocolate Muffin which might have been the most amazing muffin I’ve ever had; it had a delightfully crispy top and was so moist(pardon my word choice) that it literally melted in my mouth. I’m one of those people that prefers that muffin top over the bottom, but this was definitely a game-changer. So if you’re more of a coffee-person than a pastry person you need to come to the Wired Puppy. And you must not leave without trying the Chocolate Muffin.

This is my 24⁄7AM coffee ritual! It’s the best tasting coffee in Boston AND… my dog gets a treat– It’s like Cheers where everyone knows your name. The owners, Donna and Robin run a friendly quality coffee shop– the staff are well trained and you must try the scones and muffins that come out hot from the oven. There are the same«regulars» who are all on a first name basis who live in the neighborhood and come in EVERY day. It’s a great place to sit outside and watch the traffic on Newbury. You get a free cup of coffee after 10 if you sign up.

The most welcoming staff I’ve meet! This little underground café serves a wide variety of tea and coffee. Came here asking for something more flavorful than the national average, and thats exactly what I got! I got 2 shots of turkish espresso with and it was tasty and true. The shop is puppy friendly, serving an assortment of dog treats. I sat on their outside patio and later, as it got chilly, I moved to their inside study area. Oh yeah and they also have free Wi-Fi that definitely adds a plus. Instagram: @coffeebeantown

My gf and I love this place — Every time we visit Boston, we make sure to stop in. We even brought back some coffee for a friend, who normally drinks dark roast — but, when we brought her home the Colombian medium roast, and she put it in EASILY her top 5 coffees EVER. Cute little quaint place to hang out in — free wifi is always a plus too.
So your walking down an extremely crowded Newbury street and you stumble across this downstairs café. Not only is it dark, but its SOQUIET! Already great for making you feel like you are in a different world. My friends and I asked a million questions(an older woman and a man about 24 years old) and every single one was answered with so much information. They were positive and happy behind the counter. On top of that their coffee is AWESOME.

This is a cute little spot that I would love to make my breakfast regular stop if it were possible. The coffee is excellent, and they have a fine assortment of sugars(including stevia) and milks(including soy and almond) at the counter for you to dress your coffee. Their baked goods are delightful — the chocolate chip muffin had high quality chocolate! The cinnamon scone was excellent as well. The seating is adequate, and there are plenty of plugs, should you want to park, but the lighting is terrible for any sort of real work. PS you can bring your dog in while you order, so you don’t have to tie poor little doggie to the post to come in.

Came here for a quick cup of coffee on a Thursday afternoon. There was no line. Service was fast. No complaints. With that said, there wasn’t anything outstanding about it. There is a nice patio out front and the actual shop is a half level down with a very small back area to sit and chill out.

This is a little gem on Newbury Street. Super nice staff. My hubby asked for something that was not on the menu and the barista took on the challenge and crafted a declisous beverage. My coconut latte that was on the menu was also delicous. Cool vibe all around. Will definitely be back.

I came here on a recommendation from my friend who frequents Boston. Can’t say much about coffee since I’m not a coffee drinker, but it was good. I liked the service from the employee who helped me pick what to drink: a pour over. He was really patient and answered my many questions on the pour over process. For a tourist wanting a rest from walking on a hot summer day, it offers a quiet environment with lots of plug outlets to charge phones, free WiFi, and a clean restroom. Nice homey atmosphere with brick walls and pebble floors. The back space is very quiet and everyone else was on their laptops. Lighting is comfortable and great for laptop work with natural lights from coming from the windows.

You couldn’t ask for a more peaceful Coffee Shop with a nice variety of tea, pastries and of course coffee. This little underground place has beautiful ambiance. The espresso I had was inevitably tasty and true. Great atmosphere to relax, chill and bring your pup for a nice tranquil visit. Not to soon be forgotten

Just the nearest café I had on my visit. I’m a fan of good coffee, and this place has better coffee than other well known franchises. I’ve only taken café latte, a bit stronger and better than average, and espresso machiato, which was kind of burnt. They have muffins to take, they look good, but I have’t tried them. Also you can have a wide collection of teas and customize your coffee with extra cocoa, cinnamon or different kinds of milk. You can work with your laptop inside, but outside the wifi isn’t reachable.

I’d give this place 3.5 stars. I used to come here all the time for muffins! That’s the best thing about this place — their chocolate muffin tastes like a chocolate cake made by a true baker. Fluffy, a good chocolatey taste, and very moist. Their other muffins are good, too, but if chocolate is available, you’d be crazy not to get it! Back when I drank caffeine, the Turkish coffee was pretty good. I’ve had hit or miss experiences with the different iced teas. Cider drinks are ok. Today my iced decaf almond milk latte was a huge disappointment — it tasted slightly chalky and burnt and tannic. I had to throw it out after I drank a quarter of it(not sure why I even drank that much!). I couldn’t handle it. The price was also way too high for a medium: $ 5.40! You can get the same drink(but made way better and is guaranteed to taste great) down the street at Barrington for $ 5.00 for a large. This place gets props for offering lots of goodies and treats for both humans and pets. Opt for outside seating — it’s sort of dungeon like and dark in the interior.

4 stars for now, although this is quickly becoming my regular summer coffee spot. They have a big menu and lots of variety — I saw a turmeric ginger tea that I am excited to try! + Outdoor seating + Free wi-fi + Free computer use(YES, there is a computer available in the back) + Good specialty coffee + Extra pluses for the Turkish spiced(not Turkish style) coffee. + Baked goods are fresh and tasty — Not a ton of indoor seating — Pastry selection is not huge. Maybe I’m getting there too late in the day though

I’m not exactly a coffee connoisseur but the Wired Puppy seems like a pretty cool café. They have a huge variety of flavored shots that you can add to your coffee — my boyfriend got the peanut butter which, to be honest, sounded disgusting in coffee… but actually turned out to be pretty tasty. I got one of the specials which was a white chocolate & raspberry flavored coffee drink, which was also delicious. I definitely appreciate how strongly the flavor of the coffee beans comes through. Wired Puppy also serves turkish coffee and their take on the frappuccino, a «Freddo». Seating is limited and I could see how this place gets packed easily. There are computers at the back of the café, which I presume are hooked up to the free Wi-Fi. Pretty cool place just to chill and refuel after a day of exploring Newbury. Reasonably priced for a coffeehouse as well.
