An obituary, in limerick: I was hungry and I had a thought That a Wrampi would help quite a lot So I meandered on over And I did discover That my beloved would now be there not Despite the confusing marketing «Fresh! Organic! Healthy!» or something It was delectable and cheap Sweet, salty, savory in one heap! Indeed it was something surprising. And now how will I get my fill Of a nori-crêpe that fit the bill With shrimp and avocado(sigh) Or BBQ duck with bravado(sigh) I’ll wait for you to come back still(sigh…)

My, how things have changed. No more Buy 3 Get 1 Wrap Free. No more waffle sandwiches. No more Savory Wrap and Sweet Crêpe lunch combo(that I know of). Their Signature wrap options are now $ 3.95, while they now offer a House Burrito menu at a dollar more at $ 4.95. The difference between the two being that the Signature wraps come double wrapped in a crêpe and a leaf of seaweed, while the Burritos are wrapped singly in a crêpe alone, minus the rice, yet a bit fatter in size. Lunch Specials are offered from 11am — 3pm and consist simply of a Signature wrap or a House Burrito with a drink and either a fruit of the day or an organic salad for an additional $ 1 – 2 on top of the base wrap/burrito price. But a meal for about $ 4.25 after tax is nothing to sneeze at either, and my appetite was content with my seafood signature wrap(shrimp, crabmeat, cucumber) lunch. Cash only. Minimal seating. Counter service.

Asian Crêpe? Big Asian Sushi? Asian Burrito? Not really sure how to classify it, but it’s amazing, cheap, home food. The chicken and duck are both excellent, for only $ 3.95. Good alternative to all the Vietnamese sandwiches in Chinatown. There’s a few chairs, but it’s basically a to-go kind of place.

This food is magical. It’s not totally fair to call them sushi burritos, but it gets the idea across. Meat and veggies with rice and sauce wrapped in a crêpe and seaweed. However, none of the fish is «raw» since it is all warmed. I’ve had the eel and the duck burritos. The rice is wonderful and it has plenty — but not too much — yummy sauce on the inside. The crêpe adds a new, delightful texture and flavor. However, four stars because I think there should be a just a bit more meat. But the wraps are only $ 4($ 5 for eel), so it’s understandable. Minimal seating; we’ve always grabbed our wraps to go. Cash only!

$ 4 dollars for a mediocre roll of mostly rice wrapped in seaweed and crêpe. I thought it was a good idea when my friends told me about Wrapmi, but it’s a cheap and poorly exectuted idea. I’ve tried a couple different wraps here and they’ve all been pretty much the same — a decent sized wrap that had mostly rice with a few pieces of meat in the middle. The wraps are not really the sushi wraps you’d think of because they are also wrapped in crêpe, which adds a different texture and taste to the whole thing… It’s pretty filling but I wouldn’t pay $ 4 for a bunch of rice wrapped in seaweed and crêpe. I do have to admit that my friends love this place because it’s near school and its a cheap, filling lunch. As for me though, I’ve had much better.

A sushi burrito? Don’t mind if I do. I came here with a friend a week or so ago and the concept of a sushi burrito absolutely baffles me. My friend suggested I get the salmon with lettuce and cream cheese, so why not. The portion is generously ginormous(I almost couldn’t finish) and it was really good. The crêpe that it was wrapped in was very nice as well, along with the seaweed covering. The cream cheese was a bit overwhelming as I felt it clogging up my airways, but otherwise, it was good. There isn’t much seating so, it’s not as friendly an environment if you see to go for a place to hangout or chill. I suppose it’s more of a to-go place, and something you can eat on the go. I will be sure to come back to explore their menu a bit further and indulge in a waffle sandwich or some sort.

Came back with a few good friends because I was craving Wrapmi and a few things made me update my eating to two stars. 1) SERVICE. The cashier was a young Asian guy and he seemed like he didnt want to be there at al. He was rude and inattentive and seemed like all he wanted to do was go home. Big attitude problem. I get you don’t wanna work but hey don’t be a baby about it. My friend asked him for a bag to put our food in and he was like«a bag? Like a plastic one?» No. I mean a Gucci bag you dumbo. –_– 2) FOOD Idk why but the wraps don’t taste as good anymore. I think it’s because I tried a lot more delicious food lately and going back to wrapmi was a disappointment. Their food doesn’t taste fresh at all and the brown rice is MUSH when they put it in the burrito. Doesn’t even TASTE like a sushi burrito. I thought sushi rice was sticky rice with rice vinegar? Well the rice they put in the wraps taste like plain old rice. Tastes like sushi paper with a microwaved(which is what they actually do to heat the wrap up) wrap and rice piled with other crap. It’s super cheap and filling but I wouldn’t go back unless I was starving and low on money. Go get a banh mi or something instead.

Cozy little place for a snack. We got the duck wrapmi and it was really flavorful. I really enjoyed it! The staff was nice and accommodating

Located across Enso sushi on Kneeland St, Wrapmi is a nice addition to Chinatown. Wrapmi’s rolls are double-wrapped kimbaps. 1st wrap is the crêpe, the 2nd is the seaweed. The crêpe layer is premade, certainly thinner than a typical burrito. You’ll have your order out by 3 minutes. $ 5.10 for their eel, cucumber, avocado roll, off of their signature wraps list. Expectations didn’t match reality. –I was expecting the roll to come in a clear plastic film as posted by other Unilocalers, reminiscent of Japanese triangle onigiri covers, but mine came out wrapped in aluminum foil. I’m wondering is the clear film wrapping the standard or not? It would certainly add to the Asian touch. –Mine also came out fatter in circumference and hence shorter compared to other Unilocaler’s wraps. Wasn’t a foot long as others have claimed. Regarding the roll, I actually didn’t see any eel. –I was expecting a strip of unagi, but upon chomping, all I see is dried shrimps and bits that tasted similar to dried pork floss. I’m not sure why I paid $ 1 extra for non existant eel? +Despite the pseudo eel going on in the wrap, the combo of cucumber and avocado interestingly all blended well together. The mellow, creamy taste of the avocado complemented with the crunch of the cucumber and the sweet and salty flavoring of the pseudo eel. Although the presentation and absence of unagi was slightly disappointing, I would come again to give their other rolls a try. Overall, Wrapmi is an inexpensive and filling option for lunch or dinner.

Awesome concept! I love the idea of having your favorite Asian dishes inside your favorite burrito wrapper. I had their eel wrap, while a friend had the duck. It was surprisingly filling, though I wish they could have added more meat. What makes the whole thing shine, however, is the fresh vegetables and sauce. The Asian inspired sauces definitely sets the tone for the meal, and really blends the whole«wrapmi» concept together. A very refreshing breath of air in an often too traditionally focused Chinatown.

This place has changed maybe 3 times since it’s opened, and I’ve been pleased each time. It’s gotten nicer inside, a less complicated and all-over-the-place menu, and now has additional offerings like waffle sandwiches. Yep, not just a crêpe with rice wrapped with seaweed anymore, they do waffle sandwiches for $ 2.50. They come with egg, tomato, cucumber, cheese, and your choice of meat. While they waffles could be crispier and less chewy and dense, the rest ain’t bad for the price. And the salmon was pretty awesome. The wraps don’t look like they used to, nor do they look like the pictures on their walls, but they’re not bad either. All are $ 3.75 now with a pretty large selection, There’re even ones without rice for $ 2.50, though I’m told they won’t hold off that hunger monster inside your stomach for too long. Keep improving, Wrapmi, and I’ll keep coming back, hopefully pleasantly surprised each time. Hey, can we get some Vietnamese-flavored meats in the wraps? Wrapbahnmi?

What do I have to say? It’s efficient, affordable, and delicious! The buy 3 get 1 free deal got my mom to get it every week when we’re in Chinatown. At first I thought it was a long fat sushi. Looks like it and seems a little bit too plain to keep going at it. But, as I ate my first Crispy Chicken Roll, I can guarantee that for sure, they are way different from sushi rolls. Well, the only thing that’s similar is the taste of rice and seaweed, but the sauce and fillings in each of these rolls give such a different taste. You just want to keep munching it down. I find it creative how they use crepes to hold the food inside, so the seaweeds on the outside wouldn’t be soggy and break. The only thing that irritates me is how they wrap the rolls with the foil. They wrap it in a way so that whenever I reach the end, everything is about to fall apart and my hands would get dirty. But still, overall, it was a satisfying meal. If you want to know how it’s made and how big it is, I can only describe it like how they would make burritos from Boloco. You can watch them make it as they come in one size-like a Boloco small or original. Very limited seatings, so I would suggest to just get it to go!

I stumbled upon Wrapmi and was intrigued. It’s basically a new fast food concept where they make sushi burritos. Instead of a tortilla, they use a crêpe and a sheet of roasted nori. The fillings consists of rice, meat, and vegetables, and prices start at an incredibly low $ 3.50($ 1 extra if you opt for brown rice, eel, or lobster). I opted for #4, the duck, onion, and red pepper filling. There is a lunch deal where you get the wrap and a sweet crêpe for $ 5, and I figured an additional $ 1.50 for dessert was a darn good deal. There were a variety of choices like sweet taro, red bean, ice cream, coconut, and blueberry, but I opted for strawberry. The wrap was so good, I knew I had to share it with the world. The blending textures of the savory meat, perfectly cooked rice, soft crêpe and crunchy nori came together like delicious art. The simplicity of the white rice balanced the richness of the duck and mayo or whatever sauces used. It was a light, refreshing meal that I kind of crave again already. Unfortunately, the wrap was so good that once I got to the crêpe, there wasn’t anything special about it. It was just strawberries and whipped cream, and it seemed like there was too much crêpe and not enough filling. I think a thicker cream, a little more like a custard, would have made that crêpe something special. Even still, for being a cute, modern shop that makes cheap delicious food, I have no problem awarding Wrapmi 5 stars. I’ll be back. Read more at

Ok — This concept is so WEIRD. But somehow it works. I think you have to be an adventurous eater to go for it, and even as I’m eating it(and really liking it) I’m thinking… This is so weird… But I like it. But it’s weird Basically, think slightly sweet crêpe(YYUUUMM) filled with pseudo sushi and wrapped in an oddly delicious seaweed. I’ve been 3 times in the past 3 weeks and twice, I went for the shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and the other I had the crab something or other. I’ve also gotten the combo with the sweet crepes… for $ 5 you CANNOTBEATTHISDEAL. It’s so much food that i am in a coma at my desk afterwards, but its so good, you can’t stop. Fast too

Three visits in two days. Yeah, I’m definitely a fan. Essentially, this is an Asian-style burrito — salty seaweed wrapped around a crêpe wrapped around rice, seaweed, and other fillings of your choice. It’s assembled in less than five minutes, and most will cost you $ 3.50+tax. Extremely nice and pleasant staff. Limited seating, but it’s not really crowded because most people take it to-go. And most importantly, it’s delicious! But… it’s CASHONLY. And I don’t quite agree with their claim of being«healthy» — it might be relative to most fast food chains, but I’m not so convinced that it’s all that healthy.

I remember seeing the website and thinking«well that’s cute, a sushi wrap». I’m not crazy about sushi and I certainly never eat enough to make a meal out of it but I’m open to trying new things, sometimes it just takes me a while to get around to it. Seeing Wrapmi featured on The Weekly Unilocal I made it my business to go. Taking a quick glance of the menu outside I decided to try the beef wrap. One thing I didn’t realize that these are more like crepes than wraps/burritos. I know that doesn’t make a difference to some people but it does to me because I f***ing love crepes. But as I got to the window I noticed the daily special, beef, crabmeat and egg for $ 3.00($ 3.21 with tax). Oh hell’s yeah! Its like they put all my favorite proteins together in a crêpe. Experimental and unheard of on this side of the Atlantic. It wasn’t a long wait for my experimental savory crêpe but since this was an impromptu stop I had to take it to go. When it was done, piping hot and ready the lady at the counter wrapped and bagged it and I was on my way. I didn’t get to savor it until I reached back to my office. Letting a hot crêpe go cold would be a crime so the minute I have a chance at my seat I dig in to that still warm, fresh, mouth watering aroma of a crêpe. Daayum, with emphasis on the«yum», that was a mighty fine crêpe. Every bite stuffed with crabmeat, egg, beef and onion. I was drunk off the deliciousness. They also put spicy mayo in it but I didn’t mind the slight pepper. This crêpe was sensational. My only regret is that it’s just a daily special and not one of their regular menu items. Their menu also sports sweet crepes and waffle sandwiches, no doubt will be popular during the warmer months but this was great food for equally phenomenal value.

Normally i am not a fan of the burrito, but since this was like a sushi burrito and i love me some sushi i decided to give Wrapmi a go. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised by the décor and level of cleanliness. You do not expect this from places in chinatown. As someone else mentioned, it does remind you of a frozen yogurt store. With only 6 – 7 bar stools, and limited bar space, this is not a place where i’d stay to have a meal. Seeing as how this was my first time, i decided to play it safe and go with the spicy chicken wrap rather than anything sushi like. While I agree that the the chicken wasnt that spicy, it was still good. I’d say my burrito was maybe 7 inches long, filled with quasi sushi rice, corn, chicken, bits of cucumber and some lettuce, and delightfully wrapped in a fluffy crêpe encased in nori. The only real complaint i have is the nori/crêpe was a bit on the salty and greasy side. I mean, I didnt come in here thinking i was going to have a healthy meal, it’s just make sure to have a water and some napkins with your meal. Other than that, i was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and efficient service.(and cleanliness). I look forward to coming back and trying some of the sushi wraps.

A sushi burrito? This is a good concept but it is not executed well. I came here for a quick dinner one day and I wanted to try this place since it barely opened. This place also serves frozen yogurt and the décor of this place feels more like a frozen yogurt place than a restaurant. I expected a burrito that was huge like the ones you get at chipotle but when my order came I was disappointed because the burrito basically looked like a sushi roll that was not cut into pieces. I ordered the teriyaki chicken roll($ 4). The roll is wrapped with nori(seaweed) and also a thin crêpe-like layer. It comes with lettuce, chicken, and corn. It was a little dry for me. The burrito lacked flavor and all the ingredients felt like they were separate components and did not merry well together. I wished it had a little more teriyaki sauce or something. The chicken tasted like there was a lot of MSG and it made me super thirsty afterwards! Sadly, the MSG did not help the burrito taste better. This is definitely a place to try just for the experience but not a place to frequent.

very interesting concept. saw this place when I was looking for a parking space and decided to stop in once I parked. Walking in, the place is VERY clean. Hope it stays this way because this is a plus. I was hoping however that they guy behind the counter would explain the concept, while it’s a bit self explanitory, having things explained by the owner or employee makes for a more welcoming experience. we looked at the menu and decided we didnt want anything at the moment. from what i gathered on my own, this concept is, ‘on-the-go’ sushi, that isnt sushi. yea… so unlike sushi, the rice is plain sticky rice, no raw fish, it has a thin crêpe that sepereates the filling from the seaweed so it doesnt get soggy and it is not sliced up, but instead kept in its log form to eat like a burrito. ok. We returned a bit later when we needed something to hold over until our later dinner reservation, I got the crispy chicken roll. this time, the guy behind the counter was a bit more talkative and gave us small samples of seaweed, MMM. The roll came out quickly. Flavors were great, but they need to wrap the outside plastic better, my roll almost fell out and onto the ground while I was eating it. Also, chicken wasnt very crispy and it was a bit dry :/maybe due to lack of customers, but none the less, it was quite tasty and I would definately come back and try another roll :) they also serve frozen yogurt! I sampled original taro and blueberry, the blueberry was really tasty. I read and article and they also opened a store in Jamaica Plain. So if you see it, try it!
