My boyfriend and I stayed at the Copley Square Hotel and we were both very tired after a long day. My boyfriend suggested we try the hotel restaurant, but I was very hesitant after the poor reviews. When I’m on vacation, I like to go to the best spots! I decided to agree and keep our evening simple by just going downstairs to get a bite. The restaurant is very nice, we were greeted and told to sit wherever we would like. There was only one other party of 4 people in the restaurant. We started our meal with the onion rings as an appetizer. The spicy sauce that they served with them was to die for. It had just enough flavor and the perfect spice. Onion rings were your typical onion ring, but definitely very good. We decided to just split their basic cheeseburger and get garlic fries on the side. The burger was a very tasty burger! It was simple and perfect. The garlic fries were amazing… not too garlicy, they were just right. Being in Boston for the first time, when our waiter said that they had Boston Cream Pie for dessert, we had to get it. It was delicious and a very big piece! We shared a coffee that complimented the dessert very well. Overall, we had a very nice experience at this restaurant. Hopefully the restaurant, staff, and food will become more consistent with other guests as well. Staying in this boutique hotel has surpassed our expectations and now this restaurant just added to our positive experience.

Like many other Unilocal users I got the Travelzoo Voucher and just like the other reviewers my experiences was VERY sub par. After much deliberation I concluded my meal fell somewhere slightly above airplane food and below a local«townie» dive restaurant. The steak my boyfriend ordered can only be described as a salty sponge but please don’t misinterpret it’s spongy character for tenderness. This was clearly a low grade cut of meat. My scampi with grilled chicken was lacking freshness and flavor and seemed to be composed of recycled ingredients. The one somewhat redeeming feature of this disaster of a meal was the dessert round which I’m assuming is because they most likely don’t make their own desserts. We had an super-sweet apple pie ala mode(which the menu mentioned a pairing of cheddar cheese, which mysteriously was not served with the pie?) and chocolate cookie cheesecake with a couple of espressos. My only piece of advice on this one: if you are desperate for a cocktail or an OK dessert and everything else in a one mile vicinity is closed, give Xhale a try!

We had pretty much the same experience as the previous reviewers. Having read the reviews prior to our visit, we had low expectations going in. We were using a Travelzoo voucher and probably would not have gone after reading the reviews, but thought that the management would have seeked to remedy the situation. No such luck. My husband had to flag down our waiter twice-once to order our entrée and once to order our dessert. No one stopped by unless we flagged them down. It was so bad at one point, that while we were waiting, I started reading the Unilocal reviews and the patrons at the next table overheard and chimed in that they were having a similarly bad experience. The food was okay, but the lack of quality service greatly overshadowed this. The lack of responses to these reviews from the management is telling.

We had the Travelzoo voucher as well, and went on a Monday night where the restaurant had roughly four active tables. There was no host so we just walked in and eventually were seated. There were a total of three guys working but we never were sure who was our server because each one kept coming over to ask what we wanted to order even if the other had already asked. It’s part over-attentiveness and part unorganized. The food was okay, but for having only four tables it shouldn’t take 25 minutes to get your meal. We could hear them yell to someone in the kitchen each time we asked where our food was. After that they brought my wife the wrong plate and she had to wait another 15 minutes or so. My cod was supposed to come with broccolini I but was played with some flavorless broccoli tips seemingly right out of a birds eye bag. They kept offering to comp us a dessert but the voucher included one, which we ended up taking to go because we had been there so long.

I got the Travelzoo voucher for 2 and visited at 5:30pm on a Wednesday. We were the only people at the restaurant for half of our meal. The waiter was attentive and remembered our names(presumably because we were the only ones in, and the only ones with a reservation). My wife had the Buffalo chicken tenders, which were quite good. The sauce was exactly how I like it, nice and spicy. I had the bruschetta, which was tasty and well presented. For dinner I had the sirloin steak with rice pilaf and veggies. I found it uninspired but pretty good. My wife had chicken scampi, which I didn’t try but she enjoyed. Drinks were pricy but fair sized, although the cocktail, wine and beer list are minimal. Desert was apple pie with ice cream, well presented but a little too syrupy for my taste. Overall, not a bad deal with the voucher, but I can get the same quality of food for significantly less money elsewhere.
