Walat’s

Short version: Burger: A+, Service: A+. Stop what you’re doing and go visit this place now!
Longer version: This is the place you need to visit for an amazing burger and great service. Kudos to Adam who prepared our drinks and the food that day, and really made sure we had everything we needed. This is what great service looks like.
Then the food. I could write a book about the burger. I’ve tried burgers in quite a few places now, but the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ burger really is the one for me: 50 procent Hoffer’s select lean beef combined with 50 procent Kunzler bacon from PA, grinded to a single patty. Heaven.
What I like about this burger is that Walats chose not too put too much extra toppings on it, and kept the focus on the balance. This is one juicy, salty, full, round, super tasty burger just the way you like ‘em.
The fries were a bit too soft and oily for my taste tho. I did not get the chance to try the fried pickles (sold out) so when I’m back next time in the US I’ll definitely try those.
Even though local chains like Burgatory do offer ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ meat now too, it’s because you can decide the toppings there yourself, the balance will never be as good as Walat’s killer combo of meat, bun, and toppings.
Yep, you can leave the burgerology to Walats.

I’ve been stopping by Walat’s on my way to see family in W PA from DC/​NoVA for I don’t know how long and this place is a true hidden gem. Working class bar with bikers, hunters, locals. The food here is unbelievable in terms of value and quantity. Not just large portions, but well prepared, fresh and top quality. Some people remark that kitchen service can be a little slow and on occasion it can be true, but the wait is more than worth it. They actually prepare your food with care, not just slap it on a grill and ignore it. Marty the owner is a true character and will have you laughing your head off and the regulars are friendly and no nonsense.

Sandwiches are huge, inexpensive, you can smoke inside, Marty the owner is so funny. He tends bar there as well. Great place.

Went up to walats last Friday had really good food and great service. The cook came out to get a drink of water at the bar and took a minute to see if everything was cook to our liking. It was and he thanked us for our business, the portions and price are awesome! The bar tender was a cool dude as well! He made all the drinks according to the recipe and the tasted great! Thanks guys !! You made that night a blast ! This is a biker /​snowmobile /​ATV bar and you will see all shapes and sizes at it from time to time but over all I will return many more times to have good memories !!!

Food Quantity, quality and price make’s up for super slow service. If you not into biker type bars this might be too much for some. Bathroom’s are horrible.
