Be very careful going to this dentist! He tricks people with his calm and friendly personality and seems nice, but he is NOT! He is very pushy when it comes to working on your teeth. He made me feel very uncomfortable when I told him I wanted to think about his recommendations with comments like«What’s there to think about, you obviously need these things». I say get a second opinion if he is recommending any major work done. I am so glad I didn’t listen to him and was skeptical from day one! He recommended a mouth guard(which I need) as well as a crown on one tooth. The cost of the mouth guard was around $ 450 and the crown was close to a $ 1000. I knew I was soon getting a Delta Care insurance which would be more affordable for me so I decided to wait. Everything changed once I got Delta Care managed insurance plan because now he wouldn’t be making as much money! He was going to charge me $ 250 for the mouth guard even though insurance contract says patient’s out of pocket is $ 50. I had to call insurance several times in order to get him to do this. If I didn’t pay attention to what my insurance covered he would have charged me $ 250! To make things worse, when I went in to get a mouth guard he decided to make it at his clinic and not send it to the lab as he usually does. So I was now getting a cheap version of the mouth guard. When I had Blue Cross insurance he never mentioned I could get a cheaper version if I get it through his clinic. He only mentioned the $ 450 dollar one. As for the crown he said I so desperately needed he did not even mention anything when I went in for the exam with the new insurance. I told him I want to get it done now because it would only cost me $ 200. He seemed flustered at my request because obviously now he did not want to do the crown. He was not making thousands of dollars as he would have with Blue Cross. He now proceeded to tell me I do not need a crown and only need an onlay(a partial crown), ohh and by the way that is not covered by Delta! The«discounted» quote he gave me was for over $ 650!!! So now he changed his recommendation to something that is not covered but Delta when originally he said I did need a full crown!
