Wow, I just read the horrible review on this store from someone who has to be either their competitor or just a really mean excessively rude individual. I had the pleasure of traveling through the adorable town of Boulder City, NV on my way from Las Vegas to Jerome, AZ. After visiting a couple of antique stores in the area I came across Vintage Home a really cute store that specializes mostly in painted and re-purposed furniture. Can I say«how adorable? I couldn’t believe the details they thought of. Not only was the furniture painted but the owner Josi also faux painted the walls. Can I just say WOW what a talented lady! I wish I could take a class from this lady. I don’t know who Hayley B. is but I have to assume she is either another furniture painter or sells another paint line or even possibly an antique store in the area who feels threatened by this very cute store. As to not liking a green color paint, or one particular style on one piece of furniture Hayley B. then don’t buy it! She had many styles to choose from. By the size of her review I do believe Hayley B has a personal vendetta of some kind because this was all personal. No one goes this far out of their way because they don’t like the style of a couple pieces of furniture in a store. I say: Hayley B. if you think you can do better do it. If not I think as young ladies we were taught: if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. My personal opinion is you must feel very throated by this adorable store. PS: If you are going to write something as fact Hayley B. this store is a Retailer not a Distributor for this product. The owner is a long time Faux Painter. If you are in the area I highly suggest you go visit this BEAUTIFUL store. You won’t miss it by the beautiful mural on the front wall painted by the owner Josi.

Because I need to refresh my writing palette from the shock of the review I just read I am just going to put it out there that Hayley B.‘s review is suspicious at best and that’s all I am going to say about that. But to stay true to consistency I too will start with the positive … Vintage Home is like visiting Captain Jack Sparrow’s private collection of furniture booty. I love a good treasure hunt but I don’t have time for all that. Thank goodness the staff at Vintage Home do! Each piece is hand selected. You aren’t going to find any plywood«consignment» pieces from your local Palace Station or Jerry’s nugget. But, you will find your neighbors, grandmothers vanity with mirror from the early 1930’s in nearly perfect condition. And its not so much transformed as it is reformed with a few coats of paint to enhance what was already there and a little distressing to remind you of the ageless beauty that still lies underneath. And the staff … they love what they do and it shows. They have relationships with each piece. And as you purchase a piece and describe how or where you plan on putting it they look on proudly knowing a little piece of them is going home with you. That might sound too deep for some side tables and shelves but when you invest in quality furniture pieces going into your home you want to feel a connection. These shelves are being trusted to hold cherished pictures and knick knacks. That dining room table will be supporting a holiday dinner where traditions are created and memories made. It seems only right these pieces be built to last and look fabulous in pictures too, right? The only thing negative I have to say is that this place is like going to Target for me. I go in there to buy one side table or chair and leave with a dining room hutch and a new writing desk; whereas at Target I go in for band-aids and leave with … well … everything. If Vintage Home keeps finding all these stunning pieces pretty soon I am going to have to buy a new home! I could go on and on about how they allow you to customize pieces to your own décor; how they are willing to make deliveries and how I only wish I had a DIY bone in my body that would benefit from one of their classes but alas I am out of time. Truly check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

This store is a hidden gem for those of us who live in Vegas, but it’s worth the drive up to Boulder City! Josi is so sweet, and you can tell she really loves what she does because it extends out into every piece of furniture that she has painted. I own a few bedroom pieces, chairs and some wall décor. Everything that I’ve come across is of excellent, lasting quality. I have 3 boys(make that 4), so I have to make sure that everything is sturdy enough to withstand their roughness, and so far, so great. If you haven’t already, go check this place out!

I have seen this store come to life and it has been great! The owner Josi has an eye for not only pairing but furniture as well. Josi is friendly and knows how to help make your home beautiful with paint and furniture. If you need a piece that stands out and speaks about who you are you can find one here.

My initial review generated some hatred so I’ll ‘sugarcoat’ it so the Nazis will calm down… I thought we lived in a free society, and were entitled to our opinions but apparently not so I digress. Here’s the positive… staff seem friendly enough… the store is cute and whimsical… nice boutique atmosphere…(Trying to be fair here Nazis)…Now the negative… I was not feeling this store’s style at all, I like shabby chic but not crappy chic! Too commonplace now. Some pieces look to be of good quality… others not so much… a bit on the cheap end. Simply put, I expected better… ended up here after seeing the space at the antique market with cans of paint and painted furniture? Being interested, I asked around… no helpthere at all… Looked up chalk/clay based paints… found out there are hundreds of brands all claiming to be the best… also found useful online tutorials to make this paint at home for pennies on the dollar and step by step DIY tips for those individuals who have even minimal comprehension skills can follow…(excluding Jenny W, of course who by her own admission wishes she had 1DIY bone in her body.) To be fair, if you like the ultra bright highlighter colors, and glitter painted fabric then this might be the place for you.(Unlike others, I won’t judge you for it if you do or don’t…) But for resplendent understated elegance, you might want to pass. Cute concept, but doesn’t sell me. Think I’ll just go on YouTube and watch a tutorial and save the small fortune they charge for a quart of chalk-clay paint. Hope the Nazis(and Jenny W. who feels my review is ‘suspicious at best’) can forgive me for choosing not to ‘follow the herd’ while I stand by my opinion.
