Alipine Modern is the perfect place to post up with a coffee and do some work. The ambiance is bright, modern, and refreshing. I am giving it 4 stars because the barista acted quite inconvenienced by having to pour my coffee, but what would a hip coffee shop be without a resident surly barista? I went there on a Friday afternoon, and there were plenty of seating options and available outlets for charging your laptop. One thing to note is that there is music playing somewhat loudly, so if you need silence, this might not be the place for you.

Awesome place for an espresso drink. Lots of tables border the room, a few tables outside on the front porch and outlets along the tables. The noise level isn’t that crazy, but it’s not the quietest, which is how I work best. The cortado was really good, not too bitter or too creamy. The caramel bun was really good, flaky and soft but not overpowering with sugar. There are also some lunch items on the menu, the avocado toasts looked really good. This is a great place to chill.

Sadly, no consistency in the espresso. Bitter at least 75% of the time. Sure, «let us know», etc, but the whole idea of walking 5 mins to the coffee shop to relax for a minute is to NOT have to complain and deal with such things. So, again, sadly… I’m out.

Super cute café. The inside is decorated so nicely, and it’s really enjoyable to sit outside in the morning. Overall I think it’s a bit overpriced, but the coffee and pastries are good.

We stopped by with friends for some pastries and coffee. Got an iced mocha caramel latte which was awesome. Ordered the blueberry muffin, which was probably the best blueberry muffin I’ve ever had, so fluffy and perfect. Also, got the waffles-holy crap they were amazing. Would come back next time we’re in town for sure.

Finally had the opportunity to go to this café yesterday, after months of driving past it on the way up to Chautauqua. I was surprised by it. This house-turned-coffee-shop is definitely a pleasant addition to the local Boulder café scene. On the outside, there are quite a few options of shady seating, complete with a firepit, reclining lawn chairs, and a few picnic tables. On the inside, you will find a colorless(but not terribly so) display, with that sort of chrome and wooden accent that earns this place the«modern» title. For lunch, the clear options were between baguette sandwiches, tartines, and salads. I asked the gent behind the counter for his suggestions, which he was glad to give, and at last settled upon the cucumber, avocado spread, and pickled onion baguette(for maybe $ 7.50?) and a cup of mate. Of course, I have to add here that a PB&J baguette is only $ 4.50, and will certainly be a reason I’ll come back here regularly. Two words: pretzel baguette. If only I had known, I’d have been here long ago. My sandwich came out, and to my surprise, was quite thin. However, my appetite was easily sated by this flavorful palette mixed with an extremely fresh baguette. I wouldn’t suggest trying to eat one of these sandwiches on the car ride home, as it was quite messy, but I was happy to pick up every last bit with my mits and shovel it in.

Interesting little coffee shop. It looks cozier from the outside(cute little house) than it is on the inside where you’ve got stark white walls, modern light fixtures, a huge white marble counter, and tables arranged in perfect straight lines. I prefer sitting on their front patio where you’ll find a couple gigantic picnic tables and comfy lounge chairs! Coffee, tea, sparkling water, Mexican coke, and a sweet little breakfast and lunch menu. Waffles, sandwiches on baguettes, tartines… I ordered the only gluten free option — the quinoa bowl. Quinoa with super thinly sliced cucumbers and radishes plus guacamole. I highly recommend adding an egg. Really good and fresh, but a liiiittle bland overall. Needed more salt! I wouldn’t say the customer service is spectacular, it seems pretty hands off. But I still enjoy my time here.

This is a house turned into a café. Very clean and light ambience. Lots of natural light. Beautiful interior. Seats many people considering the size of the space. There are two pretty big tables right outside and also a fire-pit(!!!) with seating. This place is in the midst of a beautiful residential area(also, a cemetery, which weirdly added on to the beauty of the whole place). You have to find street parking which wasn’t a problem. No complaints about the coffee! I had the cortado and it was solid! Also got the free pastry with a check-in and went with a chocolate croissant which was fine, nothing extraordinary. I have yet to try the food. Based on location, ambience and COFFEE(and brownie points for having a fire-pit) this place gets five stars!

Favorite place to get a latte in Boulder. The coffee and the interior design are both BEAUTIFUL, and all their espresso drinks are delicious and well made! Staff is extremely friendly. My only complaint would be that it’s a bit pricey, but I’m definitely willing to spend an extra dollar or two at this place. All in all, you guys are the best!

This place knows exactly what it’s doing. They have a sleek modern design that is still welcoming and a menu to match, Contemporary American that doesn’t have much variety because it doesn’t need to. However there is a great selection of teas, which I definitely enjoyed as that is something lacking at most usual coffee shops. This is the perfect place to have a light breakfast or lunch and do some schoolwork.

Bright and well lit. The coffee was good(cortado and cap) but not my favorite in town(try boxcar… Wink wink). We had some breakfast and it was tasty. Staff was friendly and i will definitely be back for a work session. Big tables and lots of room.

This is my new favorite spot. Clean, simple, uncluttered, perfect for working all day on the computer. Seriously the best latte I’ve ever had! Wicked fast internet speed too! Major downfall: closes too early in my opinion. Oh and great area to walk around for breaks!

Alpine Modern is nestled on the corner of 9th and College just a couple blocks away from the hill in an adorable renovated house. The overall ambiance is very modern, minimalist, and hipster and has a very friendly and inviting décor! The almond milk latte was AMAZING(and very strong!). Their house made almond milk is some of the best I’ve had, and blends perfectly with the rich and flavorful espresso. My boyfriend ordered the Japanese tea which was served on an adorable wooden board with a strainer and glass pitcher. Will definitely be back for the pastries and more lattes!

Everything is great from the moment you walk up to that first sip. The ambiance is awesome and matches the meticulous detail of the place. The Internet is fast and they have 3 routers. Bonus is the outside sitting area and fire pit. This place is a YES!

There’s coffee shops then there’s Alpine. Beautiful shop, very solid and clean. The employees pride in getting your job done period! No hassle, no conversation, just«Hi what can I get for you today» No Splenda here but liquid Stevia. Almond Milk $.50 more. My almond latte was warm and had a twist flavor. Delicious and thanks for giving me how the Jetsons live.

I love the vibe of this café. Modern, succulents on the table, big picture windows for a view of the mountains. The staff is helpful and nice. The place seems busy though. I came right as they opened and within 20 minutes, 3 other people showed up. I would say get here early on a sat or sun. The food is great. I got the nutella thing which was okay and the yogurt with granola and honey which was fantastic.

I don’t understand the hype with this place. My family and I had just come back from hiking and we decided to try this place out because my sister, a student at CU, knows some people who work here. I ordered an iced chai tea latte and my mom and sister got caramel macchiatos. My chai tasted so watered down it was almost as if I had left it in the cupholder in my car for three days before taking a sip, and the only taste I could detect was a weird sour cinnamon combination that tasted like the aftermath of my 21st birthday. My sister thought I was just being picky until she tried her caramel macchiato and it was also sour. The aesthetically pleasing minimalist atmosphere undoubtedly makes a great backdrop for all«foodie Instagram» pictures, but when was the last time y’all checked the expiration dates on your milk cartons?

There is no way I cannot move this place up to 5 stars. Seriously, after 10 weeks, there has yet to be a misstep. The staffing is dependable and constant, they have added staff to accommodate the increasing level of business and I still see the owner around from time to time though he does have another business too(go see his shop just off Pearl as it has some very cool things.) Everything I said in my original review is still true. They have some nice local cider for fall, they are rotating the quick bread flavors, though I have yet to catch the pumpkin, always a fav of mine. The café is always busy and so far it has not been too cold for the outdoor seating when it is quite full inside. They do have a fire pit to warm things up. The students have come back to Boulder for fall and they too, have discovered this café. Really good wifi is always a nice perk. They have been respectful of such nice surroundings and the staff still keeps it clean as a whistle. They are not open late at night so the unruly contingent has not had an opportunity to be destructive. And the café is far enough from the center of the Hill to maintain a neighborhood feel and attract visitors to Boulder, heading to Chautauqua. I see students studying while having a bite to eat and adult professionals having meetings too. I want to add that Alex and Abby do an outstanding job at running the place for/with the owner. I can’t let a week go by without stopping in unless I am out of town. It may not be my(though it is to others) daily coffee but it has so much more to offer.

Alpine Modern Café is my perfect coffee shop. The atmosphere is so beautiful: marble everywhere, industrial lights and exposure, natural lighting, honeycomb tiles on the floor, and minimalist everything. The baristas were super friendly and the coffee was pretty good despite them only having a 12oz cup for iced drinks. It was absolutely packed on a Sunday afternoon, and is an awesome place to get some work done if you love a quiet background noise and plenty of people buzzing around you!

What a find! Delicious mocha and killer smoked salmon baguette! Breakfast and lunch menu items. Atmosphere is bright, highly clean and modern. Noise level is perfect balance of agreeable music and mumble from the crowd — without having to over hear everyone. Thank you for offering us this service in this location!

I am giving this place all 5 stars, even though they can improve on some things. The space, and just all around minimalist concept of the Alpine Modern Café is perfection. The staff is so incredibly nice, and it has the most potential of any place I have been to recently. I really like that it is tucked into a neighborhood and not on Pearl Street or the Hill. It’s that great combo of neighborhood feel and college mixed in. The items on the menu are great. All of them. My only hang up is the price for what you get on the sandwiches — the pretzel twist is absolutely delicious, but is not the size of an actual sandwich and is not filling for $ 8.50 plus. There are so many good sandwich shops in Boulder, and you get more bang for your buck at others(Dish, Snarfs, Organic Sandwich CO, etc… and all have equally as fresh ingredients.) The quinoa with the salmon is absolutely delicious and I highly recommend this. For breakfast, the tartines(avocado toast, egg, hummus, Nutella) and the yogurt/granola are ideal if you don’t like a heavy breakfast, or simply just want a mid-day snack. I love all of these on the menu. Coffee is good… sometimes bitter. They may just be working on consistency still. I believe they serve Huckleberry coffee which is great stuff. Again, this place JUST opened an they are still finding their grounding. I am going to be a loyal customer no doubt about it. Go next time you’re in Boulder or if you live in Boulder. It’s a true gem and I can’t wait to see them take off.

very cool atmosphere, but the coffee is terrible. My boyfriend and i saw that this place had perfect reviews, and decided to go there for breakfast. We asked for an iced moka that tasted weird, it had a sour taste like if the milk had gone bad. Starbucks coffee taste better. I don’t recommend this place.

Artful coffee with a relaxed feel that makes it a pleasure to enjoy some quality time here. Alex, the proprietor is a master of bringing out the best in hand picked coffees from around the world. His generosity, kindness and humor also pervade — you know those pretentious coffee places where snobbish baristas are much hipper than you’ll ever be? Forget it. This is certainly not one of those places. This is a place to relax and enjoy some of the best coffee in the region. Seriously. The fire pit out back is a nice touch.
