Amante Coffee

I like this café, but unfortunately a few flies are always in this café. Always…
I can’t relax at all.

We tried to like this place as it is only a few steps from our home. It wouldn’t matter if they had the best coffee in Boulder because the staff here makes it impossible to enjoy anything. Every time I tried to like Amante it was destroyed by the workers. Rude, no hello or thank you ever. I found a gem a block away and the lattes are excellent.

I’m sorry but the service is terrible, staff have something else on their minds than taking care of costumers. The capresa panini wasn’t bad. But i wouldn’t come back to this place. There are far better coffee and snack stablishment. I wish i could say the contrary because it looks nice and seems to have a good concept.

I would probably give this place 4 stars if only rating the taste of their coffee, but unfortunately because of the consistently rude staff, my review is so much less. Don’t expect any sort of service here, all the staff acts like they have a stick up their ass. No hello, no thank you, no smile, you will only get a yes… with a what do you want… underlying tone and snotty facial expressions. And yes, you earn tips, you don’t deserve them, especially not with that attitude.
Unfortunately this place is conveniently located in my neighborhood but I go out of my way to get at least a hello with my coffee. And it’s not just me, both my out of town friends and my boyfriend who never talks poorly about anything came to the same conclusion.

I personally do not like the service here. 3 staff members kept to their conversation and then finally acknowledge me. There was no hello, what can I get you, nor a thank you. I received very poor customer service compared to others. I noticed customers after me were greeted with how’s it going and I can help you when you’re ready.
I also paid with a card and she forgot I had to sign.
Next, I asked for the code for the restroom. She spoke quickly 1010scar. I had no idea what she mumbled. She repeated again but louder and slower. TEN TEN STAR.
I’m not coming here again.

Great place to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee! Great staff!
I enjoy talking to the staff and catching up on some work or world events. I love how they have a range of pastries and gelato. I would suggest them adding some more fruit to the menu, maybe even some fruit smoothies would be amazing. You can even order a beer or have a nice glass of wine to wind down your day. What more could u ask for?

Living in NoBo this is a great location, and a nice atmosphere. But on a visit this past weekend, we found the service to be unfriendly and the cappuccinos to be lukewarm. When I asked for a warmer cap, I overheard «if you don’t like the way I make it…» And then given another one that was slightly better, mediocre at best. It will be a while before we return to this place.

I moved in to the neighborhood near Amante about 2 weeks ago. I work from home so it’s nice to have such a great new go-​to place for coffee. I love the lattes and the atmosphere is great. Looking forward to sitting on the patio this summer. The ideal neighborhood spot.

Fun place to go to catch up with friends, the patio seating is very large. Location is nice, in north Boulder, you can get a great view of the flatirons. I actually really liked the iced mocha I ordered the first time I went there.

A coffee shop with staff that acts like they’re doing you a favor by acknowledging your existence. Coffee is ok, internet is good. The rude employees make this a place I will not frequent.

An update after my third time in…
+1 star for fast wifi, another for nice seating and a third for delicious beverages.
–1 for impolite baristas and another for ridiculous bathrooms that aren’t very clean.
There is always seating here in the vicinity of outlets and Amante offers a modern feel. It seems to be a common spot for people biking through, so if you’re looking for a quiet place to concentrate, this probably isn’t the spot for you.
The restrooms have this ridiculous code on them, and the first time you try to figure it out you might think you’re being observed for a social experiment in reading directions. It’s mortifying, and if you sit near the restrooms you’ll watch newbies fail 3 – 4 times before entering. The restrooms have a strange stench and are never very clean. At a place that serves food, I find this a little unsettling and I hope their standards behind the bar are higher.
The baristas here never seem thrilled to help you out, it’s a different story at the Baseline location.
There are better coffee shops for studying in Boulder, but if you’re looking to grab a coffee to go, their beverages are great. Just don’t expect service with a smile.

Rude, rude staff. Filthy bar, counter, sugar/​cream area despite the place being dead and three employees. Guess no one trained them to clean. Pre-​made «burrito» was smushed in a panini press but didn’t matter because it was inedible anyway. I don’t get it — why do people recommend this place? My first and last time here. Simply awful.

Great Place to spend the day if you need to get out of the office, but the coffee (drip) is very very light — almost bland.

After much deliberation of Amante, I’ve decided I’m a fan. Their love of cycling helps the case — or their tolerance I should say since as much as I like my cycling brethren, we are an annoying breed in our spandex and cycling talk nerdery. Anyway, their espresso drinks are exceptional. Their seating is generous, television options are usually Euro inspired and entertaining, and their location keeps them busy with still with ample seating and parking. All things lead to a solid 4 stars.

Amante has amazing coffee and the shop environment is beautiful, sunny and inviting. I love the art all over the store and the high table. Their pastry selection was seriously lacking but overall this coffee shop is a convenient and posh shop that seems to really take what they so seriously. I like it and I’ll be back.

We just moved up the street and had frequented the shop while house hunting. The coffee is delicious and the chai is even better. Our daughter loves the gelato. This will be a great hang out for us and our high school son… But I agree with other users… The staff is not friendly or welcoming in the least. I can get over that I suppose.

This a review for the Amante Uptown in North Boulder. Overall I’d give them 5 stars but sometimes seating can be sparse (read this place can be crowded).
The coffee is great from lattes to cappuccinos. The baristas are business like when busy and friendly when things are calmer.
Lot’s of work from home/​coffee shop types here mixed in with students studying during the week between 9 and 6. On weekends, the crowd tends to be a lot of bicyclists either meeting before a ride or hanging out after a ride.
If you find yourself in NoBo Amante is worth checking out.

Stopped by today and just felt like this place was dirty. There were dishes all over the place and where you doctor your drink up was dirty and I could barely reach the lids n thangs because they were up a bit high and far back. I had to lean against the dirty table top thing to get to them so I left with an unfaerielike feeling. My drink was yummy though.
Also, the chickadees behind the counter were… out of sync. So I waited a bit. Not a biggie.

I walked into this coffee shop looking quite obviously bedraggled and sleep deprived. I ordered a large latte and when I picked it up on the other end, the barista gave me a knowing look and said, «An extra shot of espresso fell in there by accident.»
It was right then that I knew Amante was alright by me.
This was described to me as the «less snobby Amante» and, while I’ve never been to the other one, I thought this place was pretty chill.
Chill but crowded. It was pretty hard to find a seat and, as usual, there were way too many tables packed into the space. Which I’ve already stated is my biggest coffee shop pet peeve.
If I ever find myself back in North Boulder again and in need of caffenation, I’ll be sure to stop back here.
