I bought my home a year ago and used this company to do the inspection. I am currently in the process of selling the same home, and have found some serious safety and other code issues that the Amerispec inspector didn’t look for at all.
First of all, he did not inspect the outside of my home at all. I have come to find out since then that there is a potential insect problem in my siding, my window wells are illegal because they are not covered («a lawsuit waiting to happen» is what the current inspector said). This all could have been noted had the guy merely walked around the house.
I also found out that Amerispec missed a bunch of dangerous faulty wiring that could potentially be very dangerous. When I had an electrician come fix it, he was shocked hat an inspector missed such obvious issues.
I know that doing a home inspection is a big job, and a couple things are bound to get missed. But AmeriSpec missed MAJOR STRUCTURAL AND SAFETY ISSUES and charged me over $ 400 for the job.
