Nicely organized and arranged with clean clear displays. If you know what you are looking for, you can head right for it. Or you can browse in an organized fashion. If you have something specific in mind, it would be easy to find it here.

I like the two brothers who run the palace, and they have a good selection of beads. Their prices do seem to be a little higher than others around. One of my first visits there(in January 2012), I purchased a strand of oval beads labeled Variscite for $ 69. Going to the international gem and jewelry show at the Merchandise Mart in March 2012, I found out that I’d actually purchased blue impression jasper(and obviously paid WAYTOOMUCH)! I went back to the store today to talk with them about their error and was told I’d need to talk with Nick tomorrow. How Nick handles my problem will determine whether or not I buy from them again…

the place has moved a little further west, but they were pretty easy to find and even easier to work with, the perfect blend of involvement & withdrawing… showing me their wares & assisting quite extensively with assembly and then departing when i needed to contemplate my options. very handy, very helpful!

I’ve been here a few times now, and the owner that is normally there when we go isn’t overly friendly but at the same time knows what he carries. They have a huge selection of semiprecious stones and some blown glass and regular beads. Their prices are a little higher than some of the other places we’ve been to, but that might be to offset the wide selection. The store itself is in a little yellow house with parking in the back. And I find myself making a trip up there when I need that special little something or shape that I wasn’t able to find in any of the local shops.

I was going through a phase of self exploration and thought that maybe jewelry making was my next career move. In this creative adventure I started taking a silversmithing class and visiting as many bead shops as I could. There will hardly be a Boulderite who doesn’t pass this small house like business and wonder if it is really a bead store on the inside or just a cover up. I finally decided not to judge it from the outside and go check it out. It had a little parking lot in the back and I went through the back door and was pleasantly surprised by the airy and bright feel of the store. Beads hung from all over the place and I thought they just might sell the particular shaped semi-precious stone I needed for my pendant project. The mid-twenties boy sitting behind the counter acted as if I interrupted him when I came in the store. He seemed all surprised and startled that I came in and he stood up. I was oddly suspicious and grossed out at the same time(my imagination goes wild fast) I asked him for the particular thing I was looking for and he had not even an idea on what it was, so no, they didn’t have it. The store was empty except for me and the spooky sales guy, and that was enough for me to tell myself that I didn’t think I would be back… Not without a buddy. * Star one for a convenient and noticeable location right off of Pearl Street ** Free parking star two was for the gravel lot in the back… Nice addition *** Oh how cute star three was for such a tiny house and cute building that it tempted me to come inside… Come on in little girl, I have candy for you
