Boulder CrossFit

I want to first off say that I got good results coming to this gym and I did like the coaches. Reason for the two stars though I will explain in further detail. In the beginning of my crossfit journey, I was not properly supervised at this gym and I ended up hurting my back pretty badly. I’m still hurting from that and that was months ago. I have to go to physical therapy now and to a chiropractor and I’m feeling slightly better. The atmosphere of the gym can be on and off, some days you get a good group but I notice that most days people are complaining and whining about the WOD and not pulling their weight. I joined this gym to make friends also but I was unable to do so and the crowd here is generally older women, so I decided to move on to a gym that have a younger crowd and will be more attentive so I don’t injure myself again. Also the hours here cater to people who work 9 – 5 jobs and I need a gym that will have a more flexible schedule.

I have been looking extensively for a crossfit gym in Boulder and the surrounding area and have struggled to find the right place. Some of the crossfit gyms I’ve visited seemed to come with an ego and an atmosphere that made me feel as if I was not good enough. I even went to one crossfit gym where they did a fitness assessment on me and at the end they would not let me join, but instead offered me to take private lessons that came to about $ 800. At this point I was just ready to call it quits and not look for a gym, until I stumbled upon Gary’s gym. Gary is a kind and caring person who wants everyone to improve and push themselves. He also is very inviting to beginners and is encouraging to every one. I noticed from coming into the gym that there are people who come here with various physical abilities and they all are positive and supporting of each other which I really love. The workouts are challenging for me and I enjoy every minute of it. I definitely recommend this place for someone who is starting out in crossfit. The classes are small which are great and the coaches and people are nice as can be. I will definitely stay for the long haul.

Boulder Crossfit has amazing coaches, amazing space, and amazing programming! I switched to this gym after testing out almost every other gym in town, and am happy to say I’ve found my place here. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Trip to Colorado, and time to test the elevation effects… one sec while I catch my breath…
Its true what they say, the air plays a factor, or lack of air rather. But that didn’t stop me from trying out this super friendly, clean and knowledgable box.
As soon as I walk in, it was all smiles and welcomes, and «make yourself at home» (I love that aspect of our community). Gary Berg, owner and Coach, was outstanding. Perfect amount of offered guidance and cues, mixed with a «find what works for you approach». His space is that ideal box us city dwellers yearn for. Great rigs, lots of space for every/​any lift, ropes, rings, even a Ski Erg… which I had never tried, so of course I gave it a go after a burner of a work out and some cash out sled pulls and runs. Great machine, hope I never see it again… lol
Okay, real talk time. This box is friendly, well laid out, welcoming, knowledgable and had some great programming on the board, including the one I tackled. 2 round for time met con wod of 25 wall balls (20lb), 25 double unders, 25 abmat situps, 25 cal row. There was a great warm up, some skills and drills for handstands at the wall and walking (got up to 16 yards) and rowing work prior to the wod.
The athletes that were there mirrored the coach, as they do at many boxes, and were just pleasant and hardworking people. A+ box, more like it please!

Another awesome CrossFit gym in Boulder!!! The space is just okay but the coaches are great!!!

Boulder Crossfit is the upper echelon of Crossfit gyms! I’ve been a member of few different Crossfit gyms throughout the years I had never found a place that compares to this gym. Boulder Crossfit is a friendly, positive, and CLEAN gym. I say clean because I believe a clean gym is a direct reflection of the owner. Gary is really compassionate about Crossfit and using it as a tool to help promote a healthy lifestyle for the community.
I would recommend this gym to any level of Crossfit athlete. Whether you’re a beginner or a long time Crossfit athlete this gym is the spot for you!

Gary has created a world class CrossFit gym. I was a member at another Boulder gym for the past two years and I moved over to Gary’s gym when he opened in October. As a point of reference, I also travel a ton for work and I often will work out at other gyms around the country. Compared to all of the gyms I’ve experienced, Gary’s gym is exceptional. He has quickly created a very positive environment and he’s an excellent coach. I highly recommend Boulder CrossFit!
