One of the nicest playgrounds/parks in Boulder for families with kids(or without for that matter). It has great views of the foothill mountains and well manicured trails for hiking and biking. There’s plenty to keep the young ones busy and there’s even a nice sized leash-free dog park close by. It’s not uncommon to see hang gliders flying off the hills and onto the wide open fields below. It’s close to the house and I really enjoy picnicking here with family and friends. The city did a great job with this open space.

I love this park close to my neighborhood. I’ve been to several picnics here over the past 3 years or so. The well-groomed grass areas behind the picnic area are perfect for soccer and other ball games. Children’s playground here is usually full of happy playing children. There are hikes one can take right from the park, and it is a lovely place to walk one’s dog. There is one problem in the summer months; the restrooms. It is clear they are cleaned at least once per day; possibly twice. However in the middle of the day the women’s restroom(I can’t really speak of the men’s – have not experienced it) can get pretty bad, with water flooded around the bases of all 4 toilets available, unflushed full toilets, and other charming surprises. So basically, during the warmer months when this park is so full of people, use a restroom before you come to the park, or after you get home. It could save you from a nasty experience…

A great place to hang out in the spring and fall and even the winter, when the sun shines bright. Summer will find you cooking a little with the lack of available shade. Beautiful views though and great pavilions if you want to reserve for a party or get-together. I think the playground facilities here are very nice, especially for older kids and there are bathrooms! A huge plus!

This park is really nice and versatile. There a trails that allow you to walk up the foothills, there are fields and courts, as well as playgrounds. I primarily go there for the dog park. They have a huge large dog, small dog, and medium size dog park. Currently the park is under construction but it is usually big and a good place to have a party or picnic. There are shelters for rent. It’s a beautiful area, the park is right at the base of the Foothills. It’s a wonderful place to have a picnic because is big a enough that you can find a quiet and peaceful spot, or bring your family because they’re plenty of space to play and there are usually sports going on. The sun is sometimes shielded by the mountains so you may want to bring a jacket because there is often a breeze and it feels colder there than the average temperature. One of my favorite parks in Boulder.
