They get one star because I had to rank. Otherwise it would be ZERO stars. Here’s why: *Made my first appointment as a new customer. They had to reschedule because they didn’t realize their dentist was going out of town? Severe miscommunication and I wish this would have been my first indication not to work with them. *Go in for my first visit. They got me back 10 minutes late and were still trying to set up. I had to sit in the chair until the dentist got there before I could leave after my teeth were cleaned. *Get to the desk and they told me I’m covered by my insurance. I specifically asked if they take my insurance and I wanted to get preauthorized. They said I didn’t have to pay a dime. It’s covered, not only my cleaning, but also to replace my old silver fillings. What! Really? So I made two more appointments. My last dentist said they couldn’t file that claim. I was overjoyed. *Go in for my second appointment for the filling, again 15 minutes late this time and there’s a dog running around the office. Get my filling replaced and the woman up front says, oh, actually you have a copay and they only cover 80% of your costs. What? Fine, I’ll pay the $ 100 and just give them another chance. *Three days later I get a phone call that says they actually don’t take my plan under insurance and I have to pay an additional though they didn’t know how much. I asked them to call me back once they found out what’s going on because I should be covered. They told me that right? *A week later I get a bill for $ 201.30. I call them and said why do I have this bill when you told me first, it was free, and then it was 80% covered, and now zero? WTF?! *The woman on the phone says it’s «My responsibility to know what’s covered even though they don’t?» Also, I asked her, how often they deal with this issue. She said it’s very common. I’m not kidding. I asked her, do you think it’s because you are deceiving your clients and lying to them about their coverage? She couldn’t answer. *All they did was forward my message to the office manager(or so they said). Never, never, never go to this dentist unless you like shady business. No wonder I was able to get an appointment almost immediately.

Dr. Winquist’s charges for routine dental care are very pricey compared to other local dentists. From a convenience perspective, Dr. Winquist is very part-time and it’s difficult to schedule an appointment. Her office is really disorganized.
