I’m really surprised by the rave reviews. I’ve been here twice and both times disappointed. I convinced my husband to go back the second time because I really wanted to like this place. We arrived at 5:30 and there were only a few people there. We had our 6 month old baby and needed to eat quickly to get her home for bedtime. It took them 45 minutes to even take our order! And that’s after telling them three times we were ready and they just would walk away. We were with 4 others at our table. One person’s entrée came out at 6:30, the next at 6:45, and then finally a few others and then mine came out around 7pm. It was ridiculous. I got the chilled ramen and it was a joke. The bowl was filled only about 1⁄3 of the way and the noodles were stuck together in big hardened clumps. It was tasteless. The staff never once apologized for the long wait. My husband got some meat rice dish and the meat was fatty and tasteless. I’m wondering if they favor a different ethnicity because we were not treated well at all.

Best egg rolls I’ve ever had! Perfect crunch and full of flavor. I ordered the Tantannen ramen, it was delicious! Nice spice to it, perfectly cooked noodles. I’m a fan. I will be back!

I can’t recommend this place enough. I have been 4 times since I discovered the place 2 weeks ago. I’ve had the Miso and Curry ramen, I’d have to flip a coin to tell you which is better.

Friendly service and nice atmosphere in side. Takoyaki were pretty delicious. Ramen— price was right but it was only OK. I need to try the miso next time, but overall for the ramen itself I wasn’t that impressed.

I really wanted to like this place. It looks really nice inside and they have the coolest lights. I hated my miso ramen and ended up throwing it away. My fiancé ordered the My Tantanmen soup and his had much more flavor. Seems like it really depends on what you order.

FINALLY, real Japanese ramen like I used to get in West L.A.‘s Little Japantown and in Vancouver B.C. Noodle noobies: Authentic ramen vs. «top ramen» is like homemade Italian pasta marinara vs. canned spaghetti-o’s: the dish seems simple but if everything is done right… quiet awesomeness emerges. These guys get ramen right: the pork belly slices were tender and generous, the vegetables fresh, the wood-ear mushrooms crunchy, the egg just-a-bit-firmer-than-soft-boiled, the ramen tender on the outside but«al dente» in the middle, and most importantly the complex and delicious chicken-pork-root-vegetable bone broth(the heart of a good ramen bowl). I tried the«My Ramen» shoyu and miso variants; both were excellent(see photo). My friend ordered a bunch of izakaya(appetizer sides) including the potato korokke, baked mussels, tempura, and all were very good(though the destination here for me was the ramen). I hope this place stays humming along in the astronomical commercial real estate universe that is Boulder. Note: This restaurant currently has NO street-visible sign – look for the huge blue & orange«Concentra» sign to find the parking lot. Happy noodle hunting!

I was looking forward to the miso ramen mentioned in other reviews but I was served undercooked noodles in a bland broth topped with a brownish egg that looked like it had been used for the third time. My son ordered pork fried rice and the $ 10 portion was only $ 5 big the overall experience was disappointing. We’ll keep looking

This place is truly a hidden gem. I was visiting Colorado and coming back from hiking. So glad we found this spot! Relatively small place, but the food was amazing. My first time trying takoyaki balls — oh man… our table had to get a second order of it. It had a good blend of sweetness and acidity for the sauce. Topped with dried squid flakes — so good! Next dish was the curry ramen. Felt very adventurous and wasn’t disappointed. I usually don’t sip the broth, but it was so good, I downed the whole thing. If i had more room in my stomach and wasn’t restrictive with my calories, I would’ve ordered another bowl. Seriously would recommend this place — owner was very charming as well. Always paid attention to us and refilled our cups!

Not a very highly advertised place, but that’s because it’s super delicious. Friendly and fast service, great sake, great Ramen for a decent price.

Even if you think you won’t like it, get the coconut curry ramen! Best Japanese food I’ve ever had. Way better than the sushi/ramen places on Pearl street and the interior looks like it belongs on Pearl.

The staff is always very courteous The food is amazing. Best Ramen in town, and they have a great selection of Izakaya(Japanese small plates) the only reason I withheld a star is the small Sake selection.

Closer to 3.5, but I’ll give round up. Potato karokke was yummy(but I’ve had better with tiny bits of ham or bacon). If you aren’t familiar, potato karokke is like fried mashed potato balls. OK I’m getting hungry just thinking about this even though I just finished eating. Fried. Mashed. Potato. Balls. OK I’ll stop. Anyways, we also ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeño(highly recommend) and the octopus round dumplings(too much stuffing, not enough octopus). Ordered the«My Favorite Ramen» which was good, not great. The ramen and broth were pretty decent. I did like this place, and on a Friday night they were at about ½ capacity — which is decent for a newer place. I would definitely go again, especially when I’m craving a hot noodle soup sometime in the winter that is coming.

I’ve been to Japan 10+ times and this place is the real deal. Very authentic and awesome variety of small plates. The miso ramen is amazing. Try the fried burdock root. Very crunchy salty and savory. Can’t wait to return!

Fun spot and I think it’ll survive longer than the previous two restaurants. It was a big hit with all of my family. We tried about 4 appetizers & all were good. Everyone enjoyed it. I thought it was a bit pricey for what you get… not much protein in the ramen, and the appetizer(they call it tapas) were small but priced as big appetizers. Prices straight from Japan? Next time I’ll try one of the stirfry options, which looked good at the table next to us.

Hmm. Not sure what happened as the other reviews were so excellent, perhaps we stepped into an alternate universe. The restaurant was empty except for us, which is usually not a good sign, there was a smell of something not quite right in the air, which explains the empty restaurant; our food was obviously not fresh(the chicken skewers were literally cold in between chunks, veggies looked and smelled and tasted past their prime). The meal arrived quickly, but was extremely bland, overly oily, and just incredibly unmemorable. I left wishing I had just stayed home and eaten frozen trader Joe’s food.

A joy to find more ramen in Boulder! Noodles were pleasantly toothsome, stewed egg was gorgeous, broth is on the lighter side. Nice variety of izakaya plates, especially age dashi tofu.

I can’t say enough about how great this place is! Superbly delicious appetizers-check. Reasonably priced entrees and alcohol-check. Inviting, modern décor-check. Tasty, traditional ramen noodles-check and check. Ramen is a labor of love and this restaurant infuses their food with it. It’s not quite at the level of Ramen you will receive in Tokyo, but it’s a good representation. This establishment will no doubt be a regular for us on date night and Sunday Funday takeout. See photos for our meal!
