Sherpani

I am familiar with this company and their products but just learned from a fellow Unilocaler about their new retail store. This seems to be the trend these days with Boulder based businesses who already have online and wholesale representation, of now giving the local Pearl scene a try. For this company it is a showcase for new lines of goods not already in the «outdoor» store market.
I was in need of a new handbag for fall, something a bit offbeat but still acceptable for my event and town, day to day needs. Their new boiled wool felt line fit the bill. My only complaint is that I like my accent straps and flaps on such bags to be real leather, not simulated but this being eco Boulder and all, the spin from the store is that «no animals were killed to make these products.» So we will see how it holds up. It does look nice but does not have the «feel» of real leather.
The salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly. The pricing is a bit higher than I would normally spend for something not leather. However, the wool felt is real and is the majority component and the interior lining, pockets and partitions are well designed. And with a lifetime guarantee, so we will see how this goes.

While walking down Pearl Street this new store/​storefront caught my eye. It also led me to thinking, hmm what was here before?
I entered the store and was immediately impressed by the displays and products. To me the store had a very boutique-​y feel. After a few minutes I finally realized why the name «sherpani» was familiar (I have a friend out East that is just wild for their products which can also be found at REI).
The bags in this store were unlike any others I’d seen before. I saw different fabrics (wools, & canvas that had a linen look) and styles which were very appealing (including rolling suitcases).
Though I interacted with 3 staffers I was most impressed by Angie. She was excited to not only discuss the line with me but also give me a tour of the back half of the store which housed the designers and a wall displaying new and upcoming styles/​bags.
Though the line targets a ladies audience I saw several bags that would be great for a man.
I’ll definitely be back when I am in the market for a fun yet functional bag.

I have about 5 Sherpani bags and have given a few more as gifts. I love the quality of their bags and I have never seen anyone with «my bag». They have great customer service and run great sales. I love Sherpani!!!

I recently bought a zippered wallet from Sherpani, using a Living Social voucher… their site is easy to use and they have communicated consistently. the shipping is 2-​day (believe me, I NEED a present right now) and I am over the moon about the service thus far!
