I miss Paper Doll. I loved the jewelry. Since PD closed, I’ve been trying to find a specific bead artist they used to carry. I think she was Hungarian? I have a few of her beaded earrings and one necklace. I’m posting here hoping someone will reply with her name or a place to buy her work!

I make it a point that when I’m in Boulder — I stop here. This place has cute gifts and the best cards around. And I have to apologize for laughing loudly in the store while reading them. They do have a nice selection of jewelry and scarfs. Just all around cute reasonably priced stuff. I love it. This is one of those stores that you don’t leave without making a purchase.

This is one of my favorite shops on the Pearl Street Mall. I can always find a card or gift that is unique and perfect for the specific tastes of the giftee. Huge selection of coffee mugs, jewelry, bags, wrapping paper, magnets, hilarious/sarcastic gag gifts, plates, kid and baby accessories/clothes/toys, etc… My favorite section of the store is the small clearance room in the back. I just scored five lime green beaded disco ball Christmas ornaments, some Trumpette glitter ballet shoe baby socks and an Illume fig candle all for half off. Score!

If you want paper products that are beeeeautiful, this is a one stop shop! Gorgeous embossed journals, a variety of simple to fancy greeting cards, invitations, gift bags and gift wrap. But that’s not all! There is some beautiful and unique jewelry, china(i.e. plates, mugs and teapots) and a great kids section, tailored mostly to little girls that are in the princess-ballerina-faery phase. Don’t miss out on the sales section in the back; I always get my holiday greeting cards a few months early from there! If you’re not in the mood to buy, just stop in to have a look at all the shiny things.

I think this has to be one of my top stores, because it combines my love of pretty things with my interest in the the inanely stupid. So along with the beautiful handcrafted jewelry and beautiful cards, they have an assortment of things that you could only find in Spencer’s or other novelty shops. The best thing I’ve seen so far is the Christian Conversion spay, boasting one spray equals instant conversion with a warning to only use it on people who actually want to be converted. It’s one of those places that you almost always end up walking out with something although you had no intention to buy anything. My last few purchases included a giant stuffed woolly mammoth, a piggy bank that opens at the nose, and a fancy foil embossed journal. :)

I barely looked around but immediately found some must haves. 1) A citrine colored glass necklace for a reasonable price with matching earrings. I made the husband’s work in finding a Christmas gift for me easy this year by saying, «get this.» 2) Ornaments! They had a big selection of cute dog ornaments(I’m a dork with a small tree devoted to dogs). They weren’t of the usual boring dog breed variety either. They also had some really pretty glass ornaments but by then I felt like I couldn’t drag the husband around there any longer.
