This place is getting a lot of flak for being«shockingly» expensive… but to be honest that is pretty obvious simply from its location. However, the quality of their costumes seems a step above halloween stores, and often you can RENT a costume… I rented a Renaissance shirt for a Zorro costume for only $ 15… which is less than I’d spend buying a super cheap looking one. Rent, don’t buy!

Awesome rentals and great last minute purchases for parties. I rented a flapper girl costume for a whole weekend for $ 20. They have EVERY costume option you can think of!

I have bought items in this store 3 times… each time, an issue with both the stated price and the way the sales personnel has dealt with it. I bought a purple wig, the tag on the wig said $ 19.99, when I went to buy it, the cashier said ’ oh ya, this is wrong, it’s actually $ 59.99′ Ok, well then why does it have a tag that says $ 19.99? Stupid me, I really wanted the wig and went ahead and paid what she said. Last Halloween, I brought a pair of fishnet stockings to the cashier, this particular pair didn’t have a price tag, I had seen several other similar pairs that were priced at $ 10, when mine were rung up…$ 23!!! I said, ‘you know what, I think I will grab one of the other pairs that were much cheaper!’ The cashier said, ‘oh well, I already ran your credit card through, there is nothing I can do!’ I was truly speechless, I have worked in retail, and I am really ashamed to say I just accepted this as ok. I will NEVER go to this place again nor give them another cent! Ridiculously overpriced and absurdly BAD customer service! In the past they have had a good selection of costumes… DON’T pay their prices, shop Amazon or one of the many Halloween stores that pop up in September!

I rented a 1950’s Hat from this store and was told I needed to pick it up the day before my event. I came last night to pick up the hat at 7:00PM and the store was closed. The store hours on the website and the front door stated 8:00PM…so I had to go to the costume party incomplete as a result. I did not receive a phone call that they would be closing early, nor was there any signs stating that they did. BUMMED and NOTCOMINGBACK!

Really, really expensive. The only thing I was impressed by was the selection of Manic Panic hair dye, as they seemed to have the entire line, even the discontinued colors. Even then, they charge $ 13 for a tub when Sally’s has them for around $ 9. Was downright shocked at the clothing — took a peek at a sales rack and saw a pair of plain cargo type pants for $ 250!!! Oh, hey, crazy town. If I wanted to spend that kind of money, I would at least get a brand I’ve heard of. But, its an interesting shop to browse, and the salespeople have always been helpful and nice.

Both creepy and fanciful, they sell cute and slutty girl wear, and also rent and sell costumes. friendly fun, plasticy. A good place to find a silly greeting card too. Fairly pricy

I love the things they sell, but holy crap it’s expensive. Even their sale racks are ridiculously pricey.

Ran in here on Halloween night to buy a wig for a last-minute costume. I came because a friend suggested it as the only place that would still be open, and I was relieved to see they had a pretty big selection of wigs. Imagine my shock, however, when my total came to $ 50. For a cheap pink wig? Really? As another reviewer mentioned, the Ritz definitely does not give off a boutiquey, expensive vibe, so if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into the prices can come as a pretty big shock. Although their selection of costumes was okay, many didn’t look like anything special and were still extremely expensive. Maybe I’m missing something, but for me $ 150 is too much to spend on a moderately creative costume I’ll probably just wear once.

This place certainly has a cool variety of costumes but it is not quite my favorite costume place… I was only here once because I was looking for clothes with the Lip Service brand. This brand usually has goth type clothes in its line. I looked on the back of the Lip Service catalog and it said this place had this line. When I got there they did not have this line in stock… but they did have a few Lip Service clothes for rent. Rent?! I have heard of renting costumes but for Lip Service?! No thanks I will pass. So gotta get back to Denver before Fashionation closes for the night.

This is the most fun place in the world! There is so much to see and do! I have bought every Halloween costume there, and I have never been disappointed. The employees are so creative with costume ideas, and they actually let you try on all the costumes even the ones that come in packages. It is a little pricey, but if you care about your costume, this is the place to go! The ‘normal’ clothes they sell there are very cute, and unique. You will not see them anywhere else. This place is definitely worth a visit.

I’ve probably been in here 10 times and never bought anything. Why? Almost everything is prohibitively expensive. It’s kind of a shock actually, because the place looks casual and costumey with a small stock of so-called ‘normal’ outfits as well. Then you pick up a cute, plain blue t-shirt or something and the price tag says $ 90! There’s never anything especially special about the t-shirt! It’s just $ 90. For no reason. However, if you’re looking for costumey stuff and have cash to spare, the Ritz does have an extensive selection of really neat costumes that won’t fall apart the day after Halloween(or Toga Night, or Cowboy Night, or Pretty Princess Night, or whatever). If you have some kind of dress-up party HABIT, then the Ritz might be the place for you. I, personally, don’t see the need for a really high-quality expensive mermaid costume that will last a lifetime, because how many times in my life am I going to need to dress up as a mermaid?

Overpriced, kitschy, limited in choices, but one of the only games in town and I swear you will end up there at least once of four times a year buying something markedly silly for a markedly silly party that is acting as a markedly silly excuse for getting down and dirty and pleasuring one another having to use the excuse of booze and costume themed parties that force you down to said reviewed store for something silly. Four Stars for being part of an endless cycle.
