I really like this place for brunch or dinner and come here regularly. Obviously, a great selection of beers too. Friendly staff, nice place. For the love of Boulder though, something has to be done about the coffee. I’m no coffee snob, but the coffee tastes like an awkward mix of battery acid and oil. It’s bad enough that I hesitate before going to their excellent brunch. Otherwise, 5 stars.

I love this place. BEST pepperoni pizza and frites in town by far. They would get a 5 star but when they changed their menu they took off their really good salads(Flower Power) and others and put on sweet salads with fruit and typical salmon salads. The old menu had much more creative salads. The beer selection is usually good, I like a smooth dark beer but they do not always have an option like that.

We ate here with a group of five people. The wait staff is outstanding – super friendly, efficient and accomodating. The food is great — half chicken(amazing), cassoulet, short ribs and fig-prosciutto pizza were huge hits with everyone in our group. The warm oatmeal cookie for dessert is sinful — definitely need to share it. We did a tasting of the beers and there was something for everyone in our group. I had a wonderful zinfandel from the wine list. Will definitely return if in Boulder again.

The mountain sun company does it again with Under The Sun! This upscale version of the mountain sun experience is a real winner. Be advised this place is cash only but worth every penny. The pizza and small plates are mainly what we stuck to and we went on a Monday so all night was happy hour!

The food, the beer, the ambiance… all pretty amazing. The service is usually pretty great too. Yesterday must have been a fluke cause the bearded kid helping just… never came back. Which bummed me out because I was looking forward to writing a 100% shining review. The important thing is the amazing food though. That and it wasn’t packed for brunch on a Saturday morning.

We were in Boulder on business and went to Under The Sun and it was one of the best local experiences I have had. The staff were phenomenal and the pizza was fantastic. I will make a point to come back at any opportunity.

Came here for the fried chicken Wednesday and was blown away by how good it was! Plenty of micros on tap, the Newman’s Altbier was awesome. Haven’t tried the regular menu, but if I can judge by only tasting the chicken, then I’m confident it will be delicious. The staff here are super cool too. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Boulder.

Other than being seated 30 minutes after our reserved time — there were several empty tables and for some reason we still had to wait — their food, beer, and service is great.

Sunday Brunch for one… Amazingly fresh food. Accommodated my calorie shy requests and delivered on flavor! I had the eggs Benedict with a side salad and sauce on the side. These guys served a perfectly poached egg and an exceptional experience. I’ll be back(and I’ll bring friends!!)

Came in for a beer and take out. The beers are great, especially FYIPA, Illusion Dweller IPA and the Bavarian Hefeweizen. What stole the show at this particular spot(I’ve been to several of the other brewery outposts) was the prosciutto and peach wood-fired pizza. As a girl from Chicago I feel a responsibility to find excellent pizza: This. Is. It. I want more. Maybe lunch tomorrow? Thanks for taking care of me alt all of your spots, from Mountain Sun(Pearl St), Southern Sun, and Under the Sun!

I’ve been here twice for happy hours, and both time I left unsatisfied. The food is nothing spectacular. I have tried the local pizza and margherita pizza. The local pizza — Arugula pesto, oven-roasted balsamic tomatoes, fresh mozzarella. Because the pesto is made with arugula, you don’t have the usual flavorful pesto. Rather it was pretty mild. The margherita pizza was just ok. Nothing really stands out. I also found the crust to be on saltier side than average. I also tried the fish taco, and it was the saddest taco I’ve ever seen in my life. There was barely any fillings, both the fish and the cabbage. Not to mention the fish was also not the best… Granted I’ve only visited Under the Sun during happy hours and have not actually dined there; however, both visit were pretty disappointing… Also, don’t forget cash! They don’t take cards. Just cash and check :/

It is hard to impress me with a burger… To me they are filling comfort food. But the burger here was awesome

I came here for a pre-wedding party, and while I didn’t have to pay for any of the food, I wasn’t a huge fan of the location itself. It was underneath the bar and resturant upstairs, and even with the loud setting, you could still hear the booming from patrons upstairs. Did I meantion that it was loud? Because for how small this place is, you have to shout to be able to talk to the person two feet away from you. The food was decent, the staff was servicable but it’s just not my favorite location.

I attended a rehearsal dinner here, so I should note that I didn’t pay for the food I ate or any drinks. That being said… The atmosphere of the basement area was perfect for a party; there was plenty of room for patrons to sit, including several tables on the patio. I appreciated the casual atmosphere, which is perfect to share a few drinks with people you don’t know. I really appreciated the comfy couches, which also made socializing more bearable. The food, served buffet style, was incredible. The wood fired cookie with vanilla ice cream was delicious; I wanted to come back for seconds. The white cheddar mac n cheese was also delicious(I did go back for seconds). Overall, I had a great experience here and would definitely recommend it to those looking to book a party or special occasion.

I love this spot! Excellent pizzas, salads, drinks and service. I highly recommend you check it out, plus you can do call aheads if you are going on the weekend which is a pretty busy time for them! I knocked off one star because we came for happy hour once at 9pm on a Friday, which is what time it is supposed to start and they had already closed the kitchen without any explanation.

By far one of the best burgers and pizza I’ve had in a LONG time. Got the Classic with bacon and the Local pizza. Happy hour was legit too. Good deals! Can’t wait to come back!!!

I’m writing another review — it’s just too good. Wednesdays — Southern Style Fried Chicken. I’m from Texas, and this is the real deal. Best side you ask? Mac & Cheese made with Gouda

I really enjoy Under the Sun! I’ve been here for beers– they always have a great selection of brews, mostly ipa’s, stouts etc. I’ve only seen them tap sour beers(my favorite) a couple times, but I’m always happy with what they have! I just tried their brunch for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. They have a couple basics, but they also offer tons of unique things like the Captain Crunch french toast made with challah. so good. I ordered the Porky’s skillet with pulled pork, kale, mustard-tossed breakfast potatoes, poached eggs, and pickled red onion, loved it! We also tried the pigs in a blanket– basically good quality sausage in a batter closely resembling funnel cake with rum syrup, yum. The ambiance is a little different than SoSun and Mountain Sun, a little more modern and clean but still relaxed. Will be back…

Such a fantastic night all around! I came for the live music and dancing with Summit Hot 7. It was a little crowded, but the staff were super accommodating and moved more tables out of the way to add space. They were particularly good at navigating the crowded restaurant-turned-dance hall even with food and drink in hand. I tasted many(many) beers and was extremely pleased with each one. It’s rare I like so many of the house ales! The bartenders were really good at making suggestions and providing tastes. Much appreciated. My boyfriend and I ordered the Colorado Corn pizza — my new favorite pizza topping. Slightly charred and sweet, the corn stole the show. I also got to try the peach and burrata pizza but I think the corn was better taste for the price. Can’t wait to return for more dancing, eating and drinking at this fantastic establishment.

I love this place! FYI this is in the same family as Mountain Sun, Southern Sun and Vine St. Pub. It is directly underneath Southern Sun, hence the name, Under the Sun. Of all of the family, in my opinion, this is the most upscale. The others are you’re basic bar food, but they step it up a notch for this place. The pizza is absolutely amazing, you gotta try Porky’s Revenge. You can also just get the pizza crust with olive oil and sea salt which is a great app. Other apps that you must try: Beer-Infused Sausage, Fish Tacos, Hummus and Giant Pretzel(Both the Sausage and Pretzel have an AMAZING mustard with them). Entrees: The Fried Chicken is a staple, I’d say about 40% of everyone in the restaurant will have this dish in front of them at any given time you go in there. The Pork Duo is one my favorite dishes I’ve ever had, right now they have some kind of summer twist on it, TO-DIE-FOR! Beer: THE #1… I wanted to just leave it at that because it’s all I drink anymore when I go, it’s a Belgian Trippel, with 9.5ABV and an amazing big, bold flavor. But, they have a lot of other good ones as well. XXX Pale Ale, Illusion Dweller IPA, and FYIPA are all among my favorites. Just so you know, this place, like the family, is cash only. Don’t worry though, they have an ATM and it’s only a $ 1 charge, which makes it not so bad. Expect a wait if you’re coming at dinner time pretty much any day of the week. And make sure to swing by on Mondays because it’s happy hour all day! Good job guys.
