Haven’t been in quite some time, but this place is awesome. Always good food. Always fresh.

Great Mexican food. Glad I took the leap to try. Will definitely be a regular. Very friendly, the owner introduced himself to us and was very accommodating. Had mixed Fajitas, a Burrito and Guacamole. All very good. Not very good with English, but they try

This place was great! Had a craving for mexican food and came here with my husband on a whim. He suggested Taco Bell but i wanted something more authentic. The place is pretty clean with bright décor and we were seated and welcomed by a young lady. We had nachos and a salsa which had a nice spice to it. Had one of the specials and hubby had a burrito. We both devoured our foods! My meal also came with a chicken soup which was flavorful and just the right temperature hot. We will definitely be back.

Now this place is the dive u want to stop for. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. This place is well worth the trip.

Watching my foody shows the other night and Mexican seemed to be the hot topic, made me crave some! So I surfed my trusty Unilocal app and found Joyce’s Bakery. I must have past this place a hundred times and never noticed it. Ha! Well there is a token cake in the display case but there were guys in the back cooking up lunch. This place is a nice find! I had the chicken enchiladas with mole rioja sauce and taco barbacoa. Muy excelante! Delicioso! Bookmarked and reviewed. This is my new Mexican go to!

Muy autentico! No idea why they call this a bakery, though there are some pastries in the window. The menu is extensive and I look forward to working my way through it. Today was tacos al pastor, and their mole enchiladas. Not to belabor a tired phrase, but… holy mole. Rich, complex, sweet(raisins?), and earthy. I’d sip the stuff straight, it’s that good. Four stars instead of five, as the tacos al pastor were sub-par: a bit dry, and no pineapple. Next up? Tamales? Chilaquiles? A torta cubana?

I still love this place, but ordering take-out/delivery on the phone from Joyce’s is a painful experience(if you don’t speak fluent Spanish). You will have to repeat your order several times to 3 – 4 different people as they pass the phone around to whoever speaks the best English, lol. Ok so I’ve learned my lesson and now I just go there in person and order, and wait 15 mins for my food. I can’t think of any other place where I’d do this, the food is actually that good. I’ll keep my 4 star rating because everyone in my house LOVES the chicken enchiladas mole(which thankfully they’ve been making with the perfect amount of spicy-ness lately). Other repeat-worthy menu items: flautas, chips+guac, and surprisingly the nachos.

We haven’t dropped into Bound Brook for a while, and decided to see if our old taqueria was still around(not) … but based on the previous reviews we decided to have dinner here at Joyce’s. The waitress who greeted us was cute and friendly and spoke English very well, and the menu has English subtitles, so gringos need not worry about getting your order in. The salsa that came with the chips as we sat down was fresh and on the spicy side, which was a good sign. We ordered the guacamole appetizer, which was very different to what we were used to: lots of fresh tomatoes, cilantro and onion, but really only a passing familiarity with any avocado. While tasty enough, $ 6,50 for some lightly dressed tomatoes was not a good value, and I doubt we’d get that again. We both had the chicken enchiladas — he had the verde(green) and I chose the deep red mole sauce. The chicken filling was very well cooked, tender and moist. The green sauce was spicy enough to bring on a sweat but pronounced very good, and my mole was excellent — a bit of dark chocolate bitterness with a sneaky chile bite afterwards… really the best I’ve had in quite a while. You get four well-filled enchiladas to an order, which is more than I could finish, and for only $ 8.00 a plate. It’s a bright and cheerful place, popular with the locals. We didn’t try any of the baked goods, but there was a brisk trade in the breads and cakes from the cases by the door and the back counter.

Real Mexican food in New Jersey! I had a burrito and a quesadilla(which was more of a fried chimichanga-like thing) which were both tasty. Didn’t have a lot of selection or thing available at the time — they were out of lengua and tripa and had no soup when we walked in at 7pm. They also don’t have a liquor license, but let us drink some Coronas we bought next door. Very friendly and tasty — a welcome authentic little place in the middle of snowy NJ.

Was driving around looking for a Mexican spot… and stumbled upon Joyce’s. I can always tell if the place is good simply by their tortilla chips… not greasy or over fried… we had soft tacos, fajitas and nachos. I love cilantro so having it in the tacos gave it a lot of freshness and zip! Overall great food and service… will definitely go back!

Also a taqueria. Good tacos, great barbacoa de chivo(goat). — only on weekends. Will go back to explore menu more.

The food here is amazing! Have tried the chicken burrito, tacos, flautas, guacomole/chips and they’ve never failed! The difference with their burrito and other places I have ordered from is the chicken isn’t dry. Sometimes you taste the dryness and it throws your whole appetite away. Well. here it isn’t! Tacos are amazing, like other little Mexican places, the taco has two corn tortillas to hold the ingredients in. The only major problem I personally have is I’m not a big fan of cilantro so I always have to remember to say«No cilantro please» when I order. The delivery to Somerset is fast too and they always throw in free sodas! Place is definitely a good place for tacos!
