Stopped in for a burger and drink. Food was delicious. Especially enjoyed the jalapeño poppers which were fresh made from scratch and the western burger with homemade potato chips. Prices were reasonable and the service was good too. A nice little local tavern!

Friendly, cozy, the food was warm and the beer was cold. The place was clean. I have no complain

When a restaurant says you can’t pay for two beers($ 10 total) with a credit card because they have a $ 15 credit card limit … I’ll give one star. This isn’t a convenient store. Also the beer was stale.

They have karaōke every Friday night. We went there with a group of friends(10 – 12 ppl). The food definitely disappointed all of us, but our waitress was very nice and caring, and the karaōke was fun. We all ordered some chicken-based food or salad, and the chicken was horrible, smelly and inedible, it was either not fresh at all or not well cooked. One of us had a burger that seemed OK. We’ll definitely not plan to go back. You would get better food and environment 6 miles away in downtown new brunswick bars/restaurants.

Came here last night for a beer and a bite to eat. You wouldn’t be able to tell looking from the street that the food would be great. My gf and I both had a burger and split an order of wings. Service was great and atmosphere was non-pretentious, local and enjoyable.

Hadn’t been here in a year or so. Got there and found out they have a new menu. We’ll let me tell you everything was great!!! My wife and I split an order of calamari to start and it was tender and delicious with the romescu and citrus aioli. I had the penne Bolognese and it was perfect, with a robust sauce. My wife had the Caprese grilled cheese and she said it was great(I had a bite and thought so too!) So glad we stopped in. We will definitely be back!

Come here fairly regularly. They just put in a new menu with two new cooks. Everything looked and tasted great. Need to come back again to try other things but the BLT and cubano were great.

We had zero expectations given the rough exterior of the joint. Despite the refurbished interior, this is still just a bar with aspirations sadly out of reach. We found parking at 6pm, tight but we’re in. We went as a family, so the«kids» aspect was in play. We snagged a four top before the place filled up. We figured it must be a local hit, lots of folks speaking easy with the hostess. The hostess seemed to remember me, but I can’t for the life of me figure how. Ah well. We ordered two burgers(one a double-double), French dip sandwich, Pulled Chicken Sliders, calamari, and a fried cheese appetizer that blew me away. I ordered medium-well on my double-double and got two hockey pucks. My son’s burger was medium well. Hmm. The wife’s calamari came out warm, not hot, but the sauces were very tasty. My daughter did not like the sliders, but I actually did. Pineapple chunks in them really worked. The house chips were over-salted, which is hard to do with potato chips. The«skinny» fries were good but they are shoestrings, dunno why they had to be skinny. One batch was also over-salted. What the hell is it with the salt shaker? Hey, they had Guinness on tap, so it was worth a star. A star for the sliders and fried cheese appetizer. More stars are possible for consistent service(waited awhile to pay and exit), better execution of the burgers, hot food, and a lighter touch on the salt. Oh, and please repaint the men’s room. If we drop a c-note on a meal, cover up your joint compound. –#

Their new menu debuts tomorrow, can’t wait! Amazing! 2 new chefs, one from FL, one from CA. Both so happy to be working and preparing amazing food, for the price!!! Please, come check out the new menu, quality, compare to Somerville spots, I doubt you’ll be unhappy! So happy to see this restaurant and pub under new ownership, management, and with exquisite, happy to to be there, and serve your large group, any day!

Pleasantly surprised. I would give this a 4 star review but held back due to the closeness to the road and outside appearance. The food definitely gets a 4. A friend and I were on the road looking for a place to eat in unfamiliar territory and found The New West Brook Inn through Unilocal. The reviews mention their great specials and they were spot on. Don’t let the outside visual scare you — the place is clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We sat at the bar and listens to Hal who was the open mic performer for the evening — cheers to Hal. We each went with a special of pork loin stuffed with ham, spinach, garlic and sun dried tomatoes. It came with green beans, mashed potatoes and a house salad. The pork was terrific and green beans were fresh and still slightly crisp which I prefer. The menu has a standard variety of burgers and sandwiches along with several entrees but the scoop is that the owner lets the chef do their thing and select the specials for the day — this is where the chef’s talent shines! Thank you fellow Unilocalers for the detailed reviews.

The New Westbrook Inn is one of my favorite places! The regular menu has so many amazing dishes, from Fresh Meat Burgers, not frozen, to a homemade Meatloaf that is to die for. Homemade potato chips are the side to get instead of French Fries and add that brown gravy on the side… just wow! The kicker is the specials menu… this chef they have there whips up some incredible dishes. I’ve never had a special that I wasn’t thrilled with. The staff is always so friendly and makes you feel like you’ve been coming in for years. Very helpful with any questions about the menu and very accommodating with any special requests with the food. If you haven’t tried this little nook by the Ballpark, you are missing out.

Food specials are excellent. Thumbs up to the chef :). They have live band I think every Saturday and occasionally DJ. Great local place.

The specials are always to die for. The chef takes his time and cooks to order but it’s worth the wait. Never a major long wait and the food is hot and delicious. The staff always friendly and totally on top of things.

Surprisingly good. We decided to try this new place and didn’t realize that it was mostly a bar when we got there… just that it was a restaurant that served booze. The chili was really good, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere quiet(there was only another group there).

First lets start by saying I was skeptical at first. The place is dark and dingy. The clientele looked like they just crawled out of some god forsaken hole. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the prices dirt cheap. If you can get past the looks, it’s a winner! Beauty is truly in the Eyes of the Beholder.

Great burgers! Would’ve taken a photo of my meal but I forgot and half way remembered… But it was too late. Had the mushroom bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. With a Chardonnay wine. Great dinner. I would definitely recommend the place. The burgers were perfectly cooked. I like mine medium and it was perfect. I heard they hired a new chef from a great restaurant prior. And he does a great job! Friendly and chill atmosphere

Disappointed with the value here! Dinner for 2 was over $ 70! 2 beers each, shared an app, 1 pasta dinner entrée and 1 salad w/chicken entrée. The food was ok, not great, just standard bar food.

Service is GREAT! The bartender and wait staff are attentive and fast. The food is OK. But, the portion sizes for the price is NOT good at all. I am reading other reviews saying the portions are ample. That may have been the case even as recently as two months ago, but they seem to be smaller and smaller each time. They have good live music there many weekends.

Local bar, eight taps, Bud, Miller, Rolling Rock, Yuengling, Stella, Brooklyn Ale, Guinness, one which I don’t recall. Back bar is very limited. Fourteen seats at the bar, plus 10 four tops and a couple of two tops. Several tables on the front patio with umbrellas. Seems to attract an older crowd at lunch. Across from the Somerset Patriots stadium. Décor is a bit down scale but it’s a neighborhood joint, not a dive bar. Three flat screens behind the bar. Sirius radio on playing rock and roll. Bartender at lunch today also was our waitress. Friendly and efficient. Food came out of the kitchen promptly. We split the crab cake appetizer which was good but not special. We both had cheeseburgers — good beef, cooked properly, decent roll, fries were very nice. OK for a quick lunch. Cheeseburger with fries was only $ 7.95 plus tax.
