Budget Blinds serving The Entire Wasatch Front

UPDATE Oct. 22, 2010: After many emails, threats of going to court, this negative review and a good deal of pain, Carri Neff had her contractor (Picasso Shutters) file a claim against their insurance company and we received a check covering the full cost of the granite. I still will not recommend them to my friends or family because of the way they treated my wife and I through this ordeal but I feel better that the situation did get resolved without me having to take them to court.

We recently purchased shutters from Carri Neff and Budget Blinds in Bountiful Utah. We had been impressed by them in the past when their sales rep had come out to give us bids and we have even referred family and friends to them.
During our process we learned that Budget Blinds doesn’t make their own shutters which really isn’t that alarming. They contracted out to a company called Picasso Shutters for our job. While the Picasso installers were installing our shutters, they somehow broke a big chip out of the edge of our BRAND NEW granite and they have been a nightmare to work with ever since. They told us that they would not take responsibility for what they did to our granite because the didn’t think they did it. Mind you, we are remodeling the house and this portion of the house is vacant so nobody but their installers were in the house when the damage occurred.
**** BE WARNED, Carri Neff from Budget Blinds and Maria from Picasso Shutters are both dishonest and have decided that they will not pay for the granite and that I will have to take them to court in order for them to pay anything. This means I could be out the cost of replacing the granite.
I STRONGLY recommend you do NOT do business with Budget Blinds or Picasso Shutters unless you want to take on full liability if something goes wrong during the install.
