I’m sickkkkk… that’s the whiny statement that I found myself saying a few weeks ago. I came down with the symptoms on Friday and figured by Monday i’d be fine, but i wasn’t, so I decided to go to the urgent care. i called Blue Cross to ask if they were in network with my insurance but they weren’t. They offered to find me a doctor in network but I didn’t feel like having to call a bunch of doctors to try and see if they had an open appointment, so I just figured I’d go to Riverside FastCare and pay cash. The whole process of checking in, seeing the nurse practioner, and getting a flu test only took about 25 minutes. When I’m sick, I don’t want a long drawn out process. Get me in, figure out what’s wrong with me and get me on my way. Riverside FastCare was perfect for that. The nurse practioner was really friendly and talked to me for the 10 minutes that it took to pass while the flu test developed. Luckily, I didn’t have the flu and just had a minor cold. It kinda sucked that they just ended up telling me to get some Zyrtec over the counter, so for that I can’t give 4 stars and say I’m a fan. Talk about a waste of money. The good part is that they just bill your insurance – if you have it– and send you the bill for whatever you owe. I got my bill today for $ 56.25, which isn’t horrible for going out of network. If I was sick in the future, I’d go back as they were quick, friendly and efficient. I’d just hope that they’d give me a prescription for an antibiotic so I didn’t feel like I wasted my money.
