Cheese Gromit! Artisanal cheese on the Bow-Edison Food Trail. An unassuming farm, a small nondescript room where you can sample and buy the cheese. Nothing fancy or frou-frou, just cheese. However, the cheese is very good. A great number of varieties and ages. Sample them all to get a feel for what you like before you make your selection. Well worth the price. A pleasant stop on a beautiful day in a gorgeous area.

(4÷18÷2015) We were doing food tour of farms around Bow/Edison/Mount Vernon and stopped in for a cheese tasting. A friend, who gets their cheeses in her co-op basket, highly recommended them. We had a delightful time learning about the cheeses and tasting them at various ages, from fresh to 7 years. I got some of the ridiculously sharp 7 year to take home and savor, and we got a quarter wheel of 2 week Ladysmith(creamy, fresh, a brie-like ricotta) for a picnic to have with a loaf of Sour Cherry Lemon Bread from BreadFarm in Bow. Be forewarned, they have very limited hours, but time it just right, it’s worth a stop.

I LOVE this place. It is freakin’ adorable, and the people working there are so helpful and knowledgeable about the cheeses they make and which ones we would like best based on what kinds of other cheeses we like. I am from out of town, and they vacuum packed my cheeses to make the trip home. Their cheese room is packed with aging cheeses, and they are happy to cut one up for you to try. I will be back the next time I am anywhere nearby.

We first fell in love with Samish Bay Cheese at the Bellingham Farmer’s Market, and on a recent day trip to the Skagit Valley we were excited to check out their little cheese tasting room in Bow. The room is small but functional — and is attached to a large cheese storage room that I dream of some day being set free in! They offer several varieties of gouda, cheddar, their signature Ladysmith, and a delicious queso fresco(to name a few). Prices range from around $ 16/pound on up, with(obviously) the older cheeses going for quite a bit more. They also sell beef and pork(either by the piece or by the animal). If you want a small-town, no-frills cheese tasting experience you won’t be disappointed with this place.(P.S. Bring your cooler so you can buy some CHEESE!)

Small dairy crafting amazing, organic cheeses. They were very helpful and generous with the samples. The Diablo cheese, jalapeño and habanero infused, is yummy beyond belief. Their aged cheeses pack a punch of creamy delicious flavor. Worth every penny!

Met an employee at the local farmers market, nice young lady can not remember her name. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the meat and cheese. I’m picky about what I consume and only eat grass fed, hormone free, ect… It was nice to talk to someone who is knowledgeable. Prices are about standard for the market. All in all great service great products. I will be visiting the farm and will update at that point.

I like driving through Bow and stopping at Samish Bay Cheese for an impromptu cheese tasting. I like to try a new cheese as I pass through Bow and take some for the ride or to bring home. They sell their crackers to go along with, too. It’s a very small shack that you stop into off the road so you’ll have to be patient if they’re busy because there’s usually only one person holding down the fort and one person can only do so much so fast. You’re in the country. Relax. Their cheese is certified organic, too :)

Yes its a strange little place but I do love it here. I have gotten their cheeses from the markets and their actual farm location and adore them. The sellers at the markets, yes they are odd and sometimes aren’t the most knowledgeable(except if you happen to get Roger who it seems lives for cheese) but they will give you a little piece of cheese heaven when you get a sample. Yum!

Small dairy making just a few but wonderful kinds of organic cheese. They make an aged gouda, that has a fantastic, pungent, and usual flavor that I’ve never tasted elsewhere. Also herb, nettle, and cumin goudas, and a few others. Limited in both quantity and variety, but the care shows. Each is fantastic, some of the best cheese made in America I’ve ever had. If you’re not in the area they do mail order, check out They also sell organic grass-fed beef, and organic pork that’s fed on whey, both of which are rumored to be phenomenal. Full disclosure: my dad owns the place. But I swear to god I would love this cheese just as much if he didn’t. I just wouldn’t be lucky enough to know about it.
