An amazing atmosphere and definitely lots of energy! The drink and food service is as fast as it can be for such a cramped environment. Our waitress was pleasant and offered several suggestions to make the night easier. I had the catfish fingers… amazing(and I’m southern) My drink of choice was something made with REMY… man if you weren’t careful that drink could put you on your tail. The band was amazing and we had front row seats. My only complaint is that it gets too crowded and everyone doesn’t have a place to sit. So you find people constantly bumping into each other and women having to wade through large groups of men to get to the bar. Other than that the experience was awesome!

Brunched here this past Sunday for the first time and it was good. The lines were short, staff engaging and food good. I enjoyed the shrimp and crab legs! The shrimp were almost over cooked. The selection is pretty good. The Manager Derrick was very nice and accommodating. the bartenders were nice and pleasant. They kept the bottomless mimosas coming! Looking forward to going back to check out the Jazz.

I have been to Half Note on a few occasions now: Sunday night live bands and recently for a Special Mothers Day Jazz Brunch. On Sunday nights(usually a cover between $ 10 – 20), the crowd is mature, but the bands are excellent. I’m a long time fan of The Fix band that play here weekly(as of now) and a new follower of the all female band, Band of Roses. The food is good, no special selections to speak of. The décor is cool and typical of PG County lounge establishments. I do love the mural on the back wall of the stage with images of icons. There’s a Stevie Wonder image included. I joked that they showed a 2015 Stevie, instead of a good 1990 Stevie with a hairline, LOL. Seriously, check it out when you go! There is open parking(thank goodness!) and just good casual, soulful fun. The Mothers Day Jazz Brunch had a live jazz band that was very enjoyable with a buffet, crab legs and shrimp to boot. I’ve read about omelette stations being offered, but this day there was not. There was, however, a waffle station, the buffet line and a carving station. While our waiter was polite about filling our bottomless mimosas, I was trying to coach him on how to truly make this a bottomless mimosa experience. I told him to refill, top off, whatever WITHOUT asking. Each time he asked and often times I found myself looking for him ;(Other visits here, my waiters have been helpful and friendly… no attitudes or gross negligence of the dining party. This could be a 3 star review, but overall, with the ease of parking, decent food and great music, no pretentious attitudes and space to groove, I bumped this to a 4 star rating. I will definitely be back. TIPs: To get a reservation on the weekend, call! Beware: when making holiday reservations, be flexible:)

Went for brunch yesterday and it was amazing! Endless mimosas and food for under $ 30! I’m officially hooked. I enjoyed the wide range of food choices available. The waffle station was great! Didn’t get a chance to get over to the omelet station but my friend did and her omelet looked very tasty and perfectly cooked. The crab legs were what won us all over. They had so much meat in them, which suprised us because it’s endless good quality crab legs with everything else for about $ 28. Service was great too. Our table was keep free of clutter from all the used plates and our waitress kept of glasses full. We definitely will be back!

I went on a Thursday evening to hear the band Be’la Donna. It was already crowded by 6PM. We found seats at the bar after 20 minutes. The drinks are basic. Don’t ask for anything fancy as the bartender informed me…“do you know where your are?” LOL. We ordered a spinach salad, catfish nuggets and sweet potato fries, which ended up being like sweet potato baked latkes with a lot of brown sugar and cinnamon. It was good but sweet. The Mac and cheese, which was ordered was returned. The roux tasted to much like flour. Everything else was great. Once the band started it was great too. The acoustics are awesome. It’s a local joint. A nice spot after work. They do brunch on the weekends but have yet to try it.

Only went here for easter brunch and it was amazing with the live jazz and unlimited mimosa and crab legs notably with other breakfast and lunch options. I know this is a mature crowd spot and I’m only 22 so i most likely will not be partying here anytime soon. Will update my review but for now it was good.

The food is pretty good just need some help with plate garnishing. The beef short ribs were amazing. Chicken wings not so much… The grits need to be cooked longer; they are gritty(no pun intended)— not creamy!

This place, the staff, their practices are so asinine. I will never come back here ever again. You are unable to simply eat at this establishment if you don’t pay a cover of $ 10 after 7pm. I always want to support black businesses but some of you make it hard. Your greedy and senseless practices will always prevent you from truly succeeding. It’s going to be way more to eat so paying a cover is one of the most ludicrous things I’ve ever witnessed. Smh.

Back in the day, we used to have dance offs to prove which group of friends had the best moves. One group on one side, the other group on the other side, with plenty of space in between to dance and prove ourselves. And you don’t try to compete if you know you can’t come correct with your moves or you’ll just embarrass yourself. So for this review, imagine it’s a dance off; Half Note Sunday Brunch on one side and every other restaurant on the other side(use your imagination, people). If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you already know I like to dance when I have good food anyway. Our turn, let’s bust a move at the buffet: Fluffy Belgium waffles made to order with fresh strawberries, bananas, chocolate syrup, caramel and whipped cream Omelette station, made to order with every filling you can imagine Eggs Bacon Cheesy grits Turkey sausage Maple Pork sausage Sautéed apples with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg Southern home fried potatoes Yams Rice Macaroni and cheese Collard greens Southern cabbage Fried whiting Fried chicken Jerk chicken Large steamed spiced shrimp Alaskan Snow Crab legs Unlimited mimosas! My fav was with pineapple juice. All you can eat for $ 28.95! Drops the mic. The crowd and your stomach are hollering. Competition is looking at us with their jaws on the ground, they are too stunned to move.

If you want to have a great time, great music, and great food, then Half Note is the place for you. This is a buffet styled brunch that features crab legs and shrimp! This is rare as the crab legs are unlimited. As an avid seafood connoisseur, I recommend those legs and shrimp! They also have a great mixture of lunch and breakfast food. They have an omelette and waffle station. If you love the Lord and go to church, you get $ 3 off of your meal with a church program! Lastly, bottomless mimosas are included with your meal!!! Score!!! Houston, I think I found a winner!!!

I have heard many people talk about Half Note, but had never been myself until last Sunday with my sisters. Knowing that the church crowd would probably arrive around 12pm, we made sure that we were the first one there when the doors opened at 11am. Walking into the restaurant your met by the hostess who gives you a wrist band to wear. guessing this is to show who is there for the brunch buffet, even though you don’t pay until the end. Since we arrived as soon as they opened, we got to select where we wanted to sit. Jordan, our waitress, seated us at a table for 4, and we then moved on to the buffet. The buffet isn’t very big, but they do offer a little for everyone. There was a omelet station with many veggies and meats to choose from like shrimp, bacon & chicken. Located by the bar, you could find the waffle station with many different toppings: strawberries, bananas, chocolate, caramel and more. And waiting for both of these to be prepared didn’t take long at all since we were on time, no food lines what so ever. The main buffet section had everything from cheese grits, turkey sausage, bacon, home fries, fried whiting, fried chicken, ribs, mac N cheese, candied yams & greens. The greens were to leafy and chunky and needed to be chopped up a bit more & the candied yams didn’t taste like the yams I was familiar with. But the best part of the buffet is that they offer steamed shrimp & crab legs. I didn’t try any of the shrimp, but the crab legs were great. I had about 2 or 3 plates with some old bay sprinkled on top. The brunch buffet comes with unlimited mimosas, which we drowned ourselves in. But like others have reviewed, the mimosas were more like orange juice with a splash of champagne. Too much juice and not enough bubbly. So we asked if we could have cranberry juice with champagne instead and once we started to enjoy our cranberry mimosas, we noticed that everyone around us decided to ask for the same thing. We probably started something new in there… lol. All in all, the experience was nice and only cost about $ 32 per person, the service was great & being located in Glen Dale, MD made parking so easy, much better than having to drive around in circles in DC looking for a spot and there were all you can eat crab legs, which means I will definitely be back.

Came here on a Friday night to see Faycez You Know. We got a table to celebrate my BFF’s bday. Had a good time. Now to the good stuff… My food was EXCELLENT! I had baked chicken, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. DELICIOUS!!! The barbeque chicken was so moist. It was a nice mature crowd. The drinks were good. Over all I will come again. The waitress was ok for it being so busy. My rating is basically for the food :-)

The live music is AMAZING – I went here on a Saturday night, and I was on my feet literally the whole night. The drink was strong but $ 14 – uh no ma’am that’s ridiculous this is not Manhattan –_– The atmosphere was definitely older than me(over 30 crowd, and I’m 25), but that made for an entertaining time. The men kind of serve as wallpaper along the wall, and the women come in groups or in pairs ready to get their groove on. I had such a good time with the band, but I’m not a fan of the prices of the drinks. I would definitely go back again!

What should I expect from a Bar/Lounge in PG county? Service slow, the $ 10 door charge is a joke when you paying for dinning, who cares the band is coming on they don’t even have their equipment on stage yet! I’m telling myself I did it for my sister, this play is a CLUB first lacks in the area of everything else. Welcome to Prince George’s County!

Good luck getting a drink from the bar… The bar tenders are very slow and won’t serve you if you’re not in that drink line. It took me about 25 minutes to get a glass of freaking wine! I suggest you take your party elsewhere… Not a fan.

We had no reservation, the bar area and the two rows infront are open seating. They offered everything I like: Omlete station Fresh peel and eat shrimp(not loaded with Old Bay seasoning, but with a boil) Scrambled eggs Cheese grits Jerk and fried chicken Fresh Collards Fresh Cabbage Sausage upon sausages and bacon Belgium waffle station(made with much love and it did not take 30 minutes to get one) The list goes on! My least favorite– The home fries were kind of mushy and not as flavorful as I would have liked and mimosas had more juice than champagne; not very bubbly and lite. But the food is solid. It’s $ 26.95, kids under 4 eat for free. The mimosa is included… for adults that is! The bar on Sunday is open, but only for beer and wine. And get this, bring your chruch program dated for the current Sunday and get $ 3 off. Now I missed out this go around, but next time I will have my program in tow. The staff was attentive. It was very casual and it was’nt real loud and noisy. Definitely will be singing this tune again real soon!

I title my review: «Had it not been for the Sunday Brunch crew…» Black people… We have GOT to do better! I understand many years of disenfranchisement have us always lagging behind in statistics and service but thats actually not a good enough excuse. Even in the face of adversity somehow we always manage to execute good customer service and quality at some black owned establishments Ive patroned. But *not today* Theres just something missing at Half Note lounge. Was it the cold, low quality taste like its from the can brunch buffet? No it was the fried chicken that did it for me. The cold, taste like chicken from the supermarket fried chicken that has me giving this place 2 stars(but Kass you rated it 3 stars) Ill explain later. I went in on a Sunday with Thursday Network for brunch. First of all the seating arrangements were not done properly – IDK whose fault that was but it wasnt a big deal. Within minutes I was in a seat(across the room) from the other half of our party. Great a black owned business with a brunch – this should be good! I say to myself. I get to the food bar half disappointed. Cornbeef Hash=Cold(unbrowned). Cabbage=Swimming in oil. Eggs=Mediocre. Dinner Rolls=Good but hello where is the biscuits??? Mac n Cheese=Squishy Unpresentable Baked Mess but taste wise good. Waffle Station=Excellent(WhoTF could mess up waffles tho) Omelette Station=Excellent. Crab Legs=Excellent Shrimp=Overcooked ANDTHEGRANDFINALE. THESTEREOTYPICALREASON I PATRONBLACKRESTAURANTS… FRIEDCHICKEN=AWFUL. Taste like those box fried chickens from the grocery store – Nah scratch that even Publix chicken is Chicken was cold. Cold world. SMH Lets not relive the mediocre food moment – UGH! You get one mimosa on the house that took like 20 minutes to get.00 The extra star is for Music and the patrons. Nice mature professional crowd.(Why were there brothers in suits on a Sun – oooooh I forget not everybody is a Seventh Day Adventist – church! Right!) The music was a classic soul/R&B mix. Very classy. Would I go back? Ummm Ive had amazing brunches in DC I dont think I could go back. But Im giving them a break because mass producing the same quality food is a very tricky process. So I recommend going back on a regular night for a sit down meal.
