Great place to hang out. Fun atmosphere with seating outside and a fire pit. Sometime they have live music as well. Staff is friendly and attentive. They made us feel important and appreciated. We ordered a custom pizza that was a hit for all of our group. Quality ingredients, and excellently prepared. Fantastic place to experience.

They have some good Happy Hour specials. We hit the hummus, and it was very good. Service was great. We wanted to try some new; the Holy Shiitake Pizza is excellent.

Great food, great atmosphere. Better pizza than other local locations and reasonably priced. Heard a lot about this place and it all proved to be true.

Pizza was great and amazing beer selection. Friendly staff but that could be because I’m from CA, land of the rude people. Lol. I would certainly come back.

The Holy Shiitake is AMAZING, but so is everything else. The guys in the kitchen really know what’s up.

Visiting friends who live right down the street and they treat The Shroom as their local hangout. It’s a big, open, light, and clean place. The air conditioner works well– I almost wanted a sweater! The bathroom was sizable and clean too. There is a large bar area, both with counter seats and high top tables. There is also a restaurant section and outdoor patio. I had the Red Skin Potato Pie and my husband had a built-your-own calzone. Both were delicious. The beer list was pretty comprehensive, I found a few things I wanted to try and opted for the Rouge Dead Guy ale. Our waiter was happy to bring taste tests of things for us to decide. It did seem to take a fair bit of time for our food to come. A Mellow Mushroom is supposed to be opening near us at home, and now I can’t wait for it to happen so I can go back and try more things. I totally see why our friends like to hang out here.

We were in Bowling Green overnight enroute to Chicago. Read the Unilocal reviews and decided to walk to the Mellow Mushroom and do take out since we had our dog with us. We had a small veggie pizza which was excellent. The crust was good, the toppings were good and overall it was excellent. We also shared a regular spinach salad which was also tasty. A good mix of spinach, dried cherries, Apple, and feta cheese. House dressings were great. A real gem. Would recommend to anyone looking for a healthy choice.

I don’t generally like chain places, but this Mellow Mushroom is quite good. The food is consistently very tasty, and their beer selection is always great. I had a salad there recently and it wasn’t swimming in dressing(imagine that). Plus trivia on Tuesday nights is a lot of fun.

I love Mellow’s vegan options. I can go there with meat eaters and everybody is happy. The vegan Mega Veggie pizzas I’ve got at the BG location have not had as many toppings as other Mellow locations I’ve been to. And it takes a while to get your food. But as long as you have good company and good drinks, it’s no bother at all. The beer selection is fantastic. I also really appreciate that this Mellow offers live music. I only wish they had it more often.

One of my favorite places to go downtown. Good atmosphere on the weekend, staff is friendly, service is good. Only complaint I have is it takes forever to get your food, but it is worth the wait. I suggest the Buffalo Chicken pizza! Delic!!!

Holy Shiitake! this pizza was fantastic! They have a large selection of beers on tap, and the pizza is worth the wait. Savory, garlicky, the Holy Shiitake pizza was amazing, and I would definitely reorder this again.

Definitely one of my favorite pizza options in Bowling Green. They have great pretzels and beer cheese as well. The beer is always good, and decently priced. The service is always top notch.

Herb the veggie burger is a new and amazing experience– serious grilling, great roast potatoes on the side and the perfect bun — nice for the wandering vegetarian. The shroom pizza was a knock out, cheese and crust unbelievable

Best take out experience I’ve ever had and they gladly added a military discount! The woman working take-out was pleasant and accommodating as we were eating on the road during an 8hr road trip– this was a pit stop to let our dog out and get amazing pizza. Thank you for being a pleasant stop– the PIZZA and WINGSNEVER disappoint!

Very good pizza for a small city. I had the house special. Crust was done perfect which is important to a good pie. Sauce was good but not to sweet. I also had the cheese bread. It was on happy hour a deal for $ 3. It was ok nothing special. Also happy hour dessert specials –1.99, I didn’t endugle was full. Really a must try if looking for good pizza.

On a road trip, craving pizza. Whatever do we do? We Unilocal of course! Having just come from a few days in Nashville, I had seen a Mellow Mushroom there, with all the funky colors. So while cruising through Bowling Green, I saw one with great reviews so we went! My husband and I sat outside on their patio, which we had all to ourselves for quite a while. Our server, Kassie, was the cutest ever and had lots of great, honest suggestions when we asked. He had a Kentucky peach beverage which was delicious and I tried the Mellow Mule, and discovered, while the drink was well crafted, ginger beer is not my jam(totally my thing though). At Kassie’s suggestion we got the $ 3 happy hour munchie of pretzels and beer cheese. Amazing! Their pretzels are made from their pizza dough and definitely made me excited for the main course. She also shared with us her own secret sauce concoction of mustard and sweet Thai chili sauce. It was also excellent! We split a Caesar salad so we could feel better about oursleves, which was a normal Cesar, though had what seemed to be homemade croutons which I am a sucker for. We ordered a half and half pizza, with two house specialties: The Freshies, with fresh basil, tomato and mozzarella and The Luigi, which had pepperoni, salami, caramelized onions, banana peppers and mozzarella with garlic and oil(no sauce). Both were great! Like, if I lived in the area, MM would be a problem for me kind of great! Overall, we had a great time and wish there was an MM in the Baltimore area!

On a recent visit to Bowling Green on 6÷27÷15, we stopped into the Mellow Mushroom as who doesn’t want pizza every day all day? A sweet guy greeted us as we entered through the back and said that we could sit in the bar– open seating– or come up front and he would be happy to seat us. We opted for a booth in the restaurant and were greeted quickly by Brandon. My boyfriend drank a Dark Horse Safety Meeting $ 3.00 and Pretty Things Fluffy $ 7.00, I enjoyed a diet Coke $ 2.29 w/a lot of lemon wedges b/c that’s how I do! We ordered their half order(3) pretzel munchie– tasty and doughy– I ordered them w/o butter, just salt. They can also be ordered w/cinnamon sugar and honey or garlic butter and parmesan cheese. My boyfriend LOVED their beer cheese. We agreed that we would order this munchie again. I ordered a small(4 slices) Mega Veggie– delicious! Red sauce base with feta and mozzarella cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, black olives, Roma tomatoes, broccoli, banana peppers, artichoke hearts and tofu. I read spinach, broccoli, and the sun-dried tomatoes and knew I had to have it! I don’t remember seeing the tofu or artichoke hearts… My boyfriend enjoyed his small House Pizza– it had some pretty awesomely crisp bacon and other things BUT I like crisp bacon so I zoned in on that. A helpful tip– when reheating the next day don’t be a damn fool and microwave it– take the time to preheat and place in the oven– convection bake works best if you are as lucky as I am to have that option– the crust comes out perfectly crisp! The staff was great. My only complaint is that they didn’t give us plates w/our pretzels or pizza– huh? We asked, they complied– just found it odd. Would I go back? Heck yeah!

Pizza was good. The«Holy Shitake» was on point. Good flavor palate. Would definitely eat there again. Service was good, not exceptional, but good. They were also fairly busy. Staff was all friendly. Crust was doughy and good. Not my favorite crust, but it was still good by any standard. I like that they are doing craft flavors rather than going with just traditional. While were there there were menus for the employee selections. I asked if these were just employee favorites, and they told me that the employees actually had a chance to create the recipes and these were the ones that made it to the menu. I thought that was a pretty cool program and shows that they invest in their employees. Overall, Yay! I’m a fan.

I have eaten great gourmet pizzas in places such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City, but today I ate the best pizza I ever had, right here in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I had the«Magical Mystery Tour» Pizza. It is a pesto base pizza and crust with Button and Portobello Mushrooms, Mozzarella, Spinach, Feta and Jalapenos. My wife had the Red Skin Potato Pie and she said, «It was Great.» We drove an hour from Owensboro just to visit Mellow Mushroom and was not disappointed. Five Star All The Way! Great atmosphere and the service was fantastic. I’m digging what you’re doing! We can’t wait to come back.

My in-laws had been talking about coming here for a while now and we finally made it to town to visit. What drew us here was the promise of good craft beers on tap. Good news! They delivered. We got here pretty early for dinner so we didn’t have to wait long for an outdoor seat. They had live music and the tables filled up fast. The Food. We got the cheesy bread and the Creole Blues pizza. Wow! It was so good! The crust isn’t my favorite, but the ingredients were just amazing. We paired the food with a couple of beers and decided to try their new spicy margaritas. Highly recommend those also! I definitely want to return.
