I don’t give five stars very often. When I do it’s for what I think of as excellence. I don’t know how the 2013 Taste of Boynton Beach could have been any better. This was the third year my husband and I had gone. Previously it had been held at Benvenuto on Federal Highway. I always thought it was okay, with plenty to eat and drink, but there were a few things that took away from our enjoyment. Mainly a lack of comfortable places to sit, and the wine being served on the other side of the building from the food. This year both problems were solved. The 2013 Taste of Boynton Beach, was held at Indian Spring Country Club on May 16. The country club was absolutely beautiful. The lobby had comfortable couches, plus an area with numerous tables and chairs. There was also an outside terrace with places to sit. Many of the tables had beautiful flower arrangements. The actual event was held in a large room where tables were set up offering food from various Boynton Beach restaurants and caterers. The room was large and the tables were set up so you didn’t feel crowded. The various tables giving away wine was in a separate section of the main room. For people who wanted cocktails there was a cash bar set up in the room where the event was held, as well as a large bar in the lobby. Although the number of tables giving out food was not as extensive as some events I’ve been to, what they had was delicious. They had a nice mix of different types of foods and the servings were large compared to some events where you’re lucky to get a teaspoon full of food. Most of the tables had short lines that went quickly, or no line at all. Although a few tables shut down before the event ended, most had plenty of food until the end. There was such a nice mix of food from chips and guacamole, to meat and mashed potatoes, to wonderful cookies. When I stopped by one table I got a plastic bag to fill up with my choice of different candies. There was a DJ playing good music. They had a good choice of wines, although the pours were kind of short. But you could go back for more as many times as you wanted to. The Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce put on a wonderful event. They deserve five stars. The Good Good food and wine. Beautiful venue with plenty of places to sit. Most of the tables had food and wine until the end. The Bad It’s hard to find anything bad.
