They have awesome poboys, and the bread pudding is out of this world. The gumbo, jambalaya, and étouffée are out of a box and not good. I have been several times and the same lady take our order, she is sweet.

Mmm, jambalaya :) Just passing through town, so happy to find a cajun place. The menu is odd, you order at the register from a menu that stretches across the entry area and is a bit cluttered. I suppose if you sit down first, you could take your time reading the menus on the tables, then go order. Lots of selection, though, and then you can get your drinks from the bar area and get a table. The food is yummy with gigantic portions(great for leftovers). We also had the bourbon bread pudding, which was perfect. Only problem was that we tried several times to get a drink from the bar and though there was nobody else at the bar, the bartender completely ignored us and finally went into the back room, she didn’t come back out until we were eating. We ended up with only water. Which was fine.

The food is very solid. I got a small seafood gumbo and I would definitely recommend it. All of the seafood tasted fresh and flavorful, although the gumbo flavors were not super vibrant or refined. But I’m no Cajun food critic so maybe I’m looking for something a little too dainty. My sister got the jambalaya — that had some kick, definitely some good flavor there. Dining is casual, you order at the counter. The vibe inside is pretty much what you expect when you’re gonna shovel some gumbo into your gut in Montana. No beer at the bar just wine wtf? Waitress/staff/counter person/bartender was very friendly and helpful. I don’t really wanna give 4 stars but it’s definitely better than 3 so I’ll round up.

Great spicy food! My personal favorite was the spicy Cubano wrap with a delicious curry sauce. Mambo was wonderful, and the red beans & rice and gumbo were both full of big chunks of tasty sausage. We ended up ordering too much food, but that’s not a problem with this good stuff. Prices were good for delicious Creole. We got non-spicy options for the kids and everyone was satisfied. We had to try the deep-fried bread pudding, and it was amazing. No, I am not a Creole connisour, but I’d like to become one.

All of the food on the menu is great. But they have the best French dip ever. I’ve never had a bad customer service experience. One of my favorite places in town.

I’ve ordered to-go orders twice now within a week of each other, and both times was a good experience. café Zydeco is quick, clean, and decently priced. So far we’ve tried the chicken sausage gumbo, the muffalatta, the creole wrap, the Cajun po-boy, chicken philly and the fried green tomato BLT. All have been very tasty, just a bit inconsistent on the sizes of the sandwiches… Seems like the first order had a more stuffed bread roll than on the other occasion of ordering the same sandwich. Nonetheless, the food is good. Things that could make it better: — Consistency in size/quantity of food — I have yet to have too many gripes… So far, so good!

Thank god for this restaurant! Without it, I would be a miserable pile of non-cajun, sulking around dreaming of beignets and etouffe. Being an avid lover of the south and all the cuisine, this place whacks the nail on the head. Thanks for keeping us Montanans satisfied without the sweltering heat of the south!

Tried the Cajun/creole cuisine here for the first time and I have to bow down for it. Three of us ordered five dishes and to our wonder we emptied the plates and even the waitress was shocked. We ordered BBQ shrimp po-boy, spicy Cajun gyro, jambalaya, chicken & sausage gumbo and chipotle pork po-boy. Each one of them is yummy and fantastic. Lots of meat and quite heavy. The sausage is andouille and the best of all I had. The place looked like remodeling house but undoubtedly the best of bozeman. Cheap, yummy, quick and lots of meat

This has been a longtime favorite! Red Beans and Rice and The Big Mammou breakfast sandwich are 2 delicious options, although honestly we’ve never been disappointed with the food. The only disappointing thing is the fact they took away the kids eat free option. Eating out with a family is pricey and we always looked forward to bringing our little ones here. We aren’t cheap and we didn’t take advantage of the situation. We have 3 kiddos but would only order 2 free kids options for them to share, in addition to entrees for all adults and always an order of beignets on Saturday morning. Imagine our surprise when we walked in one day and ordered our usual order, only to discover a fee of $ 5 per kids sandwich, which aren’t anything special anyway. Add to that the fact that the kid’s sandwiches were burnt(no we didn’t complain) and we’ve now had 2 disappointing experiences from Zydeco. What a bummer! We really hope they’ll reconsider charging for tiny kid’s sandwiches.
