Huddle House

I’m really shocked at the reviews on this place – I had to double check I had selected the right one!
My experience at the Huddle House early a Friday morning was great. The service was great; she was very quick with refills on coffee. We ordered our food and everything was great. I got the hash brown stuffed country fried steak, and although not the most delectable item I’ve *ever* eaten, it was exactly as ordered and good – I wasn’t too keen on the amount of hash browns being everywhere, ’cause boy were there a lot! Hah. Very glad I decided to get the country gravy on the side. When we paid at the cash register we were even offered to-​go cups for our drinks.
I really enjoyed this place. Next time I’m passing through I will definitely stop by. I can’t believe I’ve passed by so many times and not know this little place was there.

The only reason I’m even giving this place a one star is because I can’t give it anything less. The service is absolutely horrible. My food is always cold AND messed up. ALWAYS. The only reason I even come here is bc it’s close to home and my kid wants a waffle. Do yourself a favor and pass right on by this place. The staff does not care about the food, the service they give and especially not YOU!

Terrible terrible service waitress more interested in getting. A football game on tv than taking order of a paying customer after setting at counter for a good while just excused myself

It’s like gambling when you come in. We start taking bets on the service. Whether or not we will just get stared at or actually waited on. The wait to get your food is even worse. You’re lucky if you get it within an hour.

This is a local diner. It employs local people and the people are kind and friendly. It is what it is, they can’t and don’t try to compete with other places. Give this place a try and be fair. If your ordering a $ 3.99 meal, don’t expect anything more and realize that a dollar doesn’t buy much anymore.

This is my second and last time setting foot in this restaurant while traveling through Virginia. The first time, we were served coffee and left at a table for half an hour before walking out. This time, we were served coffee and our orders were taken. Three different groups came in and were served before my husband demanded answers. Shortly thereafter, we were finally served. I strongly suspect it’s because we are a biracial couple and these backwards POS didn’t appreciate it. I’m done with this entire FRANCHISE.
