Here is the only warning you’ll get that they’re closed until Spring. My friend and I skipped over many other options and got super excited to try Bob’s on our road trip home to find that I was closed until Spring. Seems like a great stop if you’re on a road trip though.

Great place! Love stopping here when at Lake Gaston and getting BBQ for the weekend.

Just Ok BBQ! I wouldn’t have known it was there if a friend hadn’t told me. The sweet BBQ sauce was pretty good although a little thick. I tasted a hint of molasses in the sauce, it gave it a distinct taste. The slaw was just okay. I’m picky about slaw. It was more of a sweeter creamy slaw. I prefer a vinegary slaw. That’s just a preference though, I’m sure for folks who like that type, they’d think it was perfect. Overall lackluster. Only open on the weekends, unsure if that’s changed. Not impressed enough to go back.

Uncle Bob’s was a great break from the standard advertised food stops available along the interstate. We both ordered the BBQ plate(comes with a warm roll and two sides of the following: collard greens, baked beans, cole slaw). The serving sizes were generous, our meals were fresh and savory, the service was fast and friendly, and eating with a nice view of the back woods was certainly a bonus. The establishment is built around a food truck, which is a very fun and original feature of this quick and yummy stop. Although there is an ATM/bank nearby, it is CASHONLY! We will absolutely be returning to Uncle Bob’s on our next adventure on I-85.
