I really like Russell’s and its pretty much a must go during summer and fall. I’ll visit the vestal parkway location and the Jimays flea market stand in the summer for great prices on plants, flowers and fresh produce. They have eggs, cheese and baked goods too. I’m not really sure if all of it is homemade or home grown but that’s ok. I make a point to buy the stuff I know is locally grown. They even offer a CSA! I haven’t tried it yet but plan doing so next year. In the fall, it’s really worth the trip to this farm for u pick apples and even pears! Lots of pumpkins, The cider is awesome, and they even have activities for kids, ponies, a bounce house, a petting zoo, and chicken barbecue. The people working there have always been super friendly and helpful. I’m a fan!

i love this place, it’s become my favorite apple orchard in the greater binghamton area. it’s 10 minutes up the road from lone maple, and well worth the extra driving, the scenery in mid october is absolutely gorgeous. and unlike lone maple, the tractor ride to the orchard doesn’t involve crossing a 45mph busy road, that seems kind of dangerous to me! and the orchard here isn’t as steep as the hill on lone maple farm, it makes for a much more enjoyable apple pick. they have fun activities for kids here too, and a great little farm stand that sells locally baked good like pies, cookies, and some of the best tasting donuts around here! you can tell that the pies and cookies are homemade too where as lone maple and cider mill have frozen pies that they order and then reheat in the store, that stuff seems so bland to me, i prefer scratch made food. and this year Russell’s started doing Chicken BBQs on the weekend. it’s not the best chicken i’ve had, but it’s pretty good, and the mac salad they have is great! and their cider is unique and it’s some of the best around. i would say it’s easily as good, if not better than cider mill and it’s not as expensive. do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Russell Farms is like a one-stop fall activity festival. They have apple-picking(only spot I know in the area), a really big vegetable stand(plus all kinds of baked goods and other packaged food) and a petting zoo. But the real thing they have is unpasteurized cider. If you haven’t ever had unpasteurized cider it’s amazingly better and illegal in New York since the mid 90’s. There’s other spots that have cider, and they’re good, but they just can’t match the raw natural flavor(You’ll just have to settle for donuts in a package rather than fresh). Love this place.
