While they are best known for their Philly Steak Sandwiches they are now open for breakfast. We’ve been coming to A Taste of Philly ever since they opened(and their previous similar establishment before that!) and generally it is for the steak & cheese sandwich or maybe a pizza. We both have always enjoyed the salad, too.(I’m particularly fond of the Blue Cheese dressing.) Cari has decided to start service breakfast and is opening early for that purpose. The menu is pretty typical with pancakes, eggs & potatoes and some stuffed french toast that sounds incredible. We’ll be back again and see how they’re progressing for breakfast.

OHNO! First we tried the pizza. If you like cheese and grease then this is the pizza for you. Next time we tried sandwiches. I had the chicken parm and my husband had the pressed cuban. I was sick all night with diarrhea after eating only half of the 6″ sandwich. It was tasteless and the cheese looked fake. It never melted. The roll was good. I’ll give em that. My husband ate half of his 8″ cuban and said about the same things I did. His didn’t make him sick — lucky him but he did complain of stomach pains. So glad we didn’t have to fight over our only bathroom. Not impressed. Don’t waste your time or money UNLESS you plan on taking the roll and making your own sandwich.

We just left there. we had 2 philly cheese sub and 2 sodas $$$ 30 bucks. The kid who made food had gloves on but did not ever change them, doing multiple things entire time with them on. Playing on phone scratching head, touching everything and then food. The subs tasted like pre chewed food on a roll from a bag. No flavor to the sub without peppers and the sub with peppers will set your face on fire. 2 large women who worked there sat at a table in customer area playing on phones texting entire time. We feel kind sick now, seriously. Belly aches. Only ate part of sub. Over priced no hand hygiene noticed by anyone. Will not go back. We eat out often, were not that picky but. RIPOFF! CAUTION

I totally forgot to write a review of this place, and for me that is rare. I came here based off of Matt’s review because he has great taste in food. Most of the people coming here are regulars and were ordering the daily steak special. Avoid the soup, it is not tasty. The fried mushrooms were ok, just whatever came out of the bag. We just had to try the sweet potato fries, which were excellent. The Philly Steak, on the other hand, was not that great in my opinion. The bread was tough and tasted like a sourdough. It just did not fit with the flavor that a Philly Steak is supposed to have. We will not be coming back; especially for two sandwich combos, a cup of lame soup, and some deep fried stuff for $ 36.00.

A Taste of Philly is one of those small hole in the wall joints that are well worth you tracking down. I drove by it for years wondering what treats were in behind that sigh in the run down strip mall on US41. When My office moved to that end of town I knew I had to try it and I’m hooked now. this place has the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had. Best on the planet as far as I’m concerned. I’ve not been to Philly so I can’t speak to its authenticity but it is just plain good. Onion and cherry peppers spice it up. No bell peppers in sight to ruin this creation. I did take a friend who is from Philly who said this was a great sandwich as well. I know you folks from Philly like to fight over your cheese steaks, and I don’t want to get in the middle of that. Just come taste and even if it isn’t what you think of as what things are like back home, you’ll have to admit this is one of the best sandwiches you’ve ever had. The rest of the menu is pretty good as well. sweet potato fires and great salads. The home made cookies and brownies are to die for. I can’t tell you much about the other food because I just each the steak sandwich! But friends I’ve taken have enjoyed what they’ve had and everything appears fresh and tasty. One of the best things about coming to a taste of philly is how friendly every one is. If you come more that a few times, it won’t be long before Cari remembers your favorites and adds that personal touch. Service is great and prices are really too low, she could charge more for what she serves here.
